I'm still using this. Bought it a year ago with the Apprentice sts 1.5m. My next plane is going to be the E-Flite Night Radian 2.0m BNF. I'm not experienced enough with the expo and whatnot, so I'm using this until I get some more experience and knowledge. I did play with the springs though. I felt I was too loose for my fingers, so I gave the springs some more resistance, which helped me a lot with a more controlled input.
Gimbals seem pretty good to me. All I did is add the "ratcheting" to the throttle as that is my preference. Decent little radio for what it is. I'll be doing another video with it soon. Until you have a better radio you probably won't know what you are missing not having expo but you do have low rates so that helps. I think the biggest issue I have with it, if you use it on a plane with flaps that has "ballooning" tendencies, you can't add a flap to elevator mix to smooth that out.
thx so to check if the 1.3 update is on the transmitter...if the blue light mode options come up then it's up to date right (as is case with mine)? and panic button only works for mode 1?
Correct, if you try to power up in the profile select mode and don't get the blue light, it needs the update. Sounds like you are updated. When you go to profile 2 channel 6 moves to the D switch so if your plane has panic on channel 6 (like on an AeroScout for example) then the D switch would operate panic mode. Two of the D switch positions would be panic mode and one would be no panic. If channel 6 was not reversed panic would be in positions 0 & 1 and no panic would be position 2. If you reverse channel 6 position 0 would be no panic and positions 1 & 2 would be panic. Obviously not very intuitive so not recommended.
I don't understand your question? There is no display or display output from the DXS. The DXS indicates the current profile, channel direction, etc. by the state of the LEDs above the power switch. The only thing you do with the computer is update the firmware if it needs it.
Thank you for reply. Yes i have connector and usb cable necessary for connecting to a pc to update my dsx to allow toggles to work for gear and flaps. But there appears nothing on pc screen after this connection is made@shanesdiy
@@kipfrey421 Are you referring to later in the video when I connect to my PC and turn on the radio and it sees it? If yours doesn't connect you may need to reverse the polarity of the interface cable that goes between the radio and the USB cable. Make sure the ground pin is at the top.
Well, once you get it setup, the small receiver you plug in for wireless buddy boxing, fits inside and you put the battery cover back on. This one doesn't have a wired option that I am aware of so you wouldn't be leaving the cover off while flying.

Interesting. Have you tried using it as a student transmitter with a G2/3 transmitter as the instructor?
I had a friend that bought a wireless trainer addon that connects to this transmitter and it does work, I learned how to fly a carbon cub with it.

Hi
How do you get the computer page on dxs appear on computer?

I find it a little stupid that you have to remove the lid in order to do buddy boxing.
What if the batteries falls out? Lol.
