A few tips for you all when trying this: If you aren't happy with the first result, be sure to try it a few different times- it's AI so each time it will turn out different, just like when prompting an AI chatbox with the same prompt each time creates different image results- and that it won't turn out exactly like the photo. Also, some photos work better than others. I recommend removing the background first and using one that is more like a portrait or close up. There are also similar type paint apps you can try (even cartoonifying ones!) if you aren't a fan of this one on canva as well :)I also expect the technology to quickly improve just as ai chatbox images have. For customers, I recommend telling them to choose a minimum of 2 or 3 photos (this is typical of sellers on etsy who are selling custom pet photo merch) that way you can choose the photo that works best for any given app. Also I recommend sending them a proof before uploading it to your print provider. Let me know if you guys have any other tips :)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! And yes, I tried different pictures, and they came out nothing like the one in the picture. It even added people to the picture where there was none, and in the case of the dog, it did change the dog from a white fluffy dog into a black-and-white different breed dog.
Keep repeating the process until you're happy with the results. It's AI technology, so it's basically like reprompting a chat box. Each time it turned out differently :)

@@passiveincomeangel I have the same problem as other people. I get a completely different image. Can you tell us which other apps, please? I tried 5 times, then canva told me that I reached my limit and that I should have to pay for the next ones :(
When I try it it changes the images into something else, it has the same format but the people in the image are positioned in other ways than the original photo
How did you put the change the color of the pillow using the Square Element in canva? You just sent it to the back of the layers but how did the pillow changed the color? Its not how this works haha mind explaining pls? thanks!
First I find a hex code I like on google. Then I copy the hex code into printify and download the mockup. Then in canva I upload the mockup with the new color and it populates on canva. When I add the square element I can then choose the color that has populated on canva when I select that element and then go to colors. Then I move the square behind the mockup that has the pillow area cut out so that anything behind it shows. Hope this helps!
@@passiveincomeangel Ah ok! very interesting. I got everything else as im very familiar with photoshop smart objects and mockups but was very curious as to how it changed the color in canva with the layer position and no blending modes... So basically, that mockup image has a cut-out of the pillow with the shadows on it, so whatever block of color you place behind will look like if it was colored, correct?
@@passiveincomeangel I have the same question. I'm familiar with frames in Canva but didn't see the frame "cloud/sky" on the pillow. I'm not understanding how else only the pillow took the color orange?
I really wanted this to work. This ai app gave me a completely different dog that what I submitted and there are no control settings or prompts to change the style dog it gave me. And it was a more digital style than painting. I love this idea and was really hoping it would be this easy.
Could you say more about the process from when the customer orders to how they get the printed/ finished product. This would mean it’s no longer passive income right? Each time a customer orders, you have to start the process all over again? So go to canva, so the steps you are showing, then someone prints and send it for you and these people you have to contact first to place the order ? I tried doing some canva templates and thought about selling them as prints, but I’m not sure how to do it. 🙈
I just went to elements then searched for living room coach and found it there. Then I blurred the photo a bit so that the pillow would stand out more.
I had different results depending on the photos I used as some worked better than others, but most of mine worked as long as I removed background and used photos with good lighting that were take close up. I tried it a few different times usually to get one that I liked, but some came out well the first try. Note that it will never come out exactly like the photo since it's AI.
Hi. help???? When I try this and upload my image it is giving me a painting but not the cat I uploaded. I have gone thru it several times and it is still generating an image of its own
I have tried soo many different apps both in canva and apps like toonme. None of the pictures ever really turn out like I thought they would. Sometimes they look nothing like original
So after I create the photo in canva.. and I list it on Etsy as a custom item.. how does the customer upload their image ?? The actual listing is saved as a draft because and when the order comes in, I have to go back to Canva and upload the image and then send it to printify?? Can you do a video on this? I am pretty new to the world of POD
Hey Teneisha! I would communicate in the listing that they are to send you the pictures via etsy messages or through email. (Most etsy sellers in the product niche ask for a minimum of 2 or 3 photos because some photos work better than others when applying AI apps) Then you would save that image to your device and upload to canva to convert into a painting, then upload to printify and place on a product. Take a look at how other sellers selling similar items have their listings set up and that will be very helpful. It's seems like a lot of step and difficult your first one or two order, but goes much faster with each order. But because it does take a few extra steps many sellers avoid these types of listings which is why they will remain lower competition than other products/niches. I will try to do a personalized tutorial very soon!
I recommend going on etsy and checking out how other sellers have their custom photo listings set up because there's different ways to do it :) In the listing you toggle the personalization on and request them to share their dog's name at checkout. You can also remind them to share 2-3 photos right there in the personalization box as well. (Most sellers ask for more than one photo as some photos work better than others for design apps) hope this helps!
Did you remove the background first? Also try different photos, some work better than others :) There are also other apps to try on canva and the technology is continuing to evolve and improve.
@passiveincomeangel yes I did, I tried others too nothing with that effect. I thought it would give you options too but does not. It dies not base results off my image.
@@PapandeNewmanGraphics that's so frustrating! I wonder if it works better for certain breeds than others. I would try a different paint app with canva. Or picsart has alot of cool paint effects that would be more reliable until the technology advances a bit more!
Try removing the background first so it's just your pet. Some pictures work better than others. Also canva has different apps you can try and they are adding more routinely ;) I also like the picsart app for this!

Printify PopUp Shop or Shopify :) Not sure of other e-commerce platforms like etsy though

my cat does not like anything like him, I think none of this really works fine. I've tried midjourney too, same issue.
