Many thanks! Just giving you a heads-up that in about 2 weeks time I'm going to be publishing another Panorama Tutorial titled "Stitching a Panorama - What is Perspective" Which explains and demonstrates how choosing the correct Perspective when blending your images makes a huge difference to how your panorama looks like.
Charles, not sure if my initial comments arrived, however I have only just found your videos and have found them to be a big asset to my casual photography. I am in Tasmania, and we are coming t the sunshine coast hinterland shortly for a holiday and was hoping you would be able to provide me with a list of areas to go for landscapes, waterfalls etc., that are not too difficult to reach due to my wife having mobility problems. We would like to see the glass mountains and options for accommodation in the hinterland. Also do you have a list available of all your videos?
Do you have a list available of all your videos? I have uploaded over 400 videos, so the list is quite long. But these videos have been divided into 11 playlist to make is easy to find the topic that you want. www.youtube.com/@CharlesNPhotography/playlists --- provide me with a list of areas to go for landscapes, waterfalls Landscapes: Glass House Mountains Lookout Mary Cairncross Park McCarthy's Lookout Gerrards Lookout Baroon Pocket Dam -- Waterfalls: Gardners Falls Kondalilla National Park
Charles - Super video - it is nice to know what type of gear one needs and uses to do a great pano - the advice on which piece of gear is great so one gets the correct suff your ones needs - Keep it coming ---- love e the videos and the time you put into them - Thanks
Another great presentation Charles. You have a very similar kit to the one I use for shooting panos. I have mentioned your channel with a shout-out on my latest video which was released yesterday. Take care.
Excellent presentation... thanks so much for sharing your knowledge... much appreciated... I am very interested in photography and trying to learn... gems like your channel really help!
I find with Milky Way my 20mm f1.8 on my Z7 is fine to get the core nicely without any extra heads >> I am at the stage of 1 shot only Milky Ways here in S Africa but your fellow Country man Richard Tatti has been a great help and will soon start learning to Stack for lowering Noise
Could you please tell me how well the SUNWAYFOTO DYH-68 Leveling Base grips when you put all your gear on top and is there any slack in the tightening ring once it is tightened.
Hi, once the SUNWAYFOTO DYH-68 Leveling Base was level and I'd tightened it, there was no movement. I use two finger to tighten it and it stays tight. Before I bought me new tripod which as a built-in leveling base I used it with my Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-500mm lens for wildlife photography and it stayed in place.
Great tips. I noticed you do use the PA64-T. I will buy one based on your recommendation. THANK YOU. I could also hear it click in the video. That is what I am looking for. WHERE can I buy it- only Ebay has it but it's in China.
@@CharlesNPhotography Thanks but isn't there customs and all kinds of hassles involved with importing? Hard to believe we can't find a single good INDEXING pano head here in the US. That's nuts.
Can I ask you what type of panorama gimbal that is that you use? Did it come with the indexing rotator? Is the Neewer one on Amazon good or is it too flimsy and may introduce error? Thanks for the great videos. I want to try forest panoramas I shoot a canon 5d mark iii, the biggest lens I currently use is the 100-400.
This is the Panorama head that I use. www.ebay.com.au/itm/275299013592 PH-720A Video SLR Camera 720° Panoramic Gimbal yes, I bought it with the rotator. I would be concerned about using the Newer if I was using a heavy dslr or a camera with a heavy lens, this is why I bought the one that I use. or you have to spend many more $$ and get a more expensive unit.
Is there really a significant advantage to having an index rotator head. Seems to me the nodal rail is enough with a little care. Also minimises gear to carry.
Is there really a significant advantage to having an index rotator head! Yes there is, but only if your taking photos at night when it's hard to see the amount of overlap you have between each image. It's also 100% needed if you're taking multi-row panoramas, as this is the only way you can be certain that each image of each row will line in correctly with its matching image on another row.
@@CharlesNPhotography Thanks for the prompt response. Much appreciated. I take it then I can use the Neewer nodal rail without any other gear and have good results as long as its not night photography or multi row panels - I like to keep things simple. Best wishes. Ed
I have still to have lessons on how to Stich in P Shop and am still to take Correct Multiple images >> So Saving like mad to get good quality >> Ball Head , Panning Head and Paralax Nodal Plate >> Really Right stuff is very expensive but thats what I want to use on my Gitzo No Centre Colum Series 3 Tripod >> My current Ball Head Kirk BH-1 is far too stiff for Panos sadly >> Cheaper has now cost me >> should have got RRS ...I wont need a levelling base as the BH 55 Ball Head I am buying has a Bubble level on top and the Panning Head fits on Top and also has a Bubble so your camera is level
Great video, thank you, it is inspiring me to do panoramas properly. Your milky way photographs are just stunning.

The very best video for choosing panorama gear. Thank you.
Thank you so much Berny, really appreciate your comment. 🙏
Simple, to the point, the right gear, and no waffle. Subscribed - many thanks!

Excellent advice. Most people have no idea of parallax error.
Yes, and that's why I try to explain it in laymen's terms so that people can understand it easily
@@CharlesNPhotography I can understand it now ,thanks for that. Peter from “ Holland” also know as The country below sea level.🧜♀️

There shold be no need to satck your images with your Z7 and Nikon 20mm f1.8. That combination should give you clean sharp images
Thanks for the helpful information 🙏
My pleasure, glad it was helpful for you.
You can even use a Novoflex Classic Ball (2, 3 or 5) and mount it upside down. Then you don't even need this spirit level you mentioned! 😇
I don't think so 🤔

Glad I could help and thanks for letting me know, very much appreciated
Do you think you could adapt any of these tools to a vertical mode for shooting tall buildings (as a cheaper alternative to a shift Lens)?
Certainly, all you would have to do is use the rotator on the arm instead of the base.
