I would highly agree with the guest you invited based on my exposure as I am born brought up pakistani, previous resident of Newzealand and current PR holder of canada and lived many years in gulf as well. The selection of school totally depend on your priorities, whether its religious , liberism etc, but being a practicing muslim its really hard to digest what the slow poison our kids are engulfing in these public schools, our kids might be successfull academically but with a confused mindset their moral and ethical values would be at stake. The choice is yours. Plus the guest also talk about the education system of pakistan , being exposed to multicultural education system above mentioned I would say that the habit of hard work that we acquired thru our pakistani education system helped in achieving what us immigrants are achieving now whereas their natives are feeling left out, I would say not all the things of our pakistani education system are worth appreciating but the academic check and balance is something that is taken a lil bit more lightly in western public schools.

Being raised here as well as raised a 22 yrs old and 9 yrs old I can totally with him. However, from my personal experience islamic schools are not affordable for everyone plus many islamic school across Canada especially in Albert are not as structured or as good. There is a much need to Make improvements in islamic schools. I have also done homeschooling which is so far a better option for some pp. The only thing is we then also need to creat group for hm school kids so that don't feel isolated. Lastly cogito is good n structured program and they don't spend as much energy on LGBTQ as in reg. Mainstream program.

In this particular conversation, it seems the debate over whether to keep children in public schools versus private or Islamic schools is centered around the LGBTQ issue. However, this is merely one parent's perspective from a single province. In Alberta, for example, parents are consulted and have an opt-out policy for sexual education.
Choosing between Islamic and secular private schools is a deeply personal decision. Having experienced discrimination from Muslims in an Islamic country, I believe religion should be kept at home, away from the school environment. I wouldn't trust someone I don't know, even a teacher, to handle my children's religious education.

Same policy in Ontario, mandatory permission is sought from parents to opt in or out for their child to be taught certain sensitive topics involving sex ed. Which is so considerate.
Personally, I agree with the guest speaker on the environmental influence on kids. An example of this is the speed at which kids pick up English when the prior exposure the kid has to English language is minimal at home.

Wow! Gentleman is giving feed back on the public schools teachings which was designed during decades by the experts. Giving example of Pakistani education system is irrelevant as it’s totally screwed up. LGBT is a challenge for all the parents but we need to manage it if we want to live here. Private schools are not for everyone due to affordability. He is putting stress on the parents who send their children to public schools. Pakistan schools environment is so bad. This person is out of touch and want children to do Rata. Request not to bring so called “expert”

As a new immigrant to Canada, a father of three children, and having experienced the Pakistani, Middle Eastern, and now the Canadian education systems, I can tell you that relying entirely on the system is a mistake that parents should avoid at all costs. Your children are your emotional investment and require your undivided attention, both from worldly and religious perspectives.
