Yeah when the fuck did it become normal to expect people merging onto a highway to stop if there’s cars going by?? If anything the right lane should be clear all the time
I think they know that, but the interesting bit is where the other car takes off. This happened to me when a coworker was driving once. He rear-ended a truck, and the truck just zoomed off.

7:42 Perhaps the guy didn't like the way you deliberately climbed all over his back bumper like that, and figured a second or two of looking at his rear end would tell you to back off and calm down ....
6:10 May have been intentional. Was on a lonely stretch of road once, nobody in front or behind me by a long way, saw a car far ahead sitting at a T-section stop sign, not moving.(my lane was a throughway, no stop sign) It didn't feel right, so upon approach to that guy, I let off the gas and hovered my foot over the brake. Yup, the moment I got to him, he *roared* out in front of me. I immediately hit the brakes and barely missed him. No question he was trying to get hit.
7:06 The 'idiot' is in the right here, kids are playing in the front yard so that's why they're going slow and this dude is rudely revving his shit. I'd do the same thing.
I keep telling myself over and over again to replace my dashcam since it broke but just lack the motivation. This was the video that got my lazy butt to actually place the order.
@2:35, how was that not the cammer's fault? Clearly, traffic was stopped. Whatever the Dodge driver did or did not do is irrelevant. That cammer plowed into the Dodge and then tries to make it about the Dodge speeding off. Maybe he had drugs or something, but that cammer is still at fault for the collision.
Yes it's the cammer's fault, and "hit and run" isn't really the right term here. But fleeing the scene of an accident is very illegal regardless of who hit who. Dodge driver is going to jail if caught and the cammer gets a ticket at worst
@@spyderborg It was technically a hit and run, it's just usually the guilty party is the one running. The real question is why the Dodge decided to flee? No insurance? Arrest warrant?
5:40 One of the best examples I've ever seen of proper fallowing distance and proper driving etiquette leading to everyone managing to avoid a collision. The play by play is glorious. The distracted person swerved and avoided a collision himself, but this of course sets the guy fallowing up for a very sudden stop. The moment our cammer sees the stopped traffic he recognized the problem and stood on the brakes, while he didn't need to do that necessarily for his own sake, as we can tell since he lets off the brakes and comes out of abs, he very specifically did what he did to signal to the person behind him that something's very wrong. This kind of emergency braking lurches the car onto its front wheels and also can trigger flashing brake lights on some modern cars, and regardless that kind of weight transfer is an immediate sign of danger for anyone fallowing you. Then for everyone's safety the cammer also gives the person behind him as much space as possible by calmly swerving. As a result of everyone else reacting on time, no one really comes anywhere close to a crash, in a situation that could've resulted in a bad crash, annoyingly for only the people that didn't even make the original mistake, since the car that did got out of the way. Anyways its truly perfect driving in such a quickly developing bad situation like that.
1:07 right here cammer should have switched lanes to the left. obviously the driver was inattentive but right here cammer could have avoided the whole thing
The one that ticked me off was the person in the truck who KNEW he was in a right-turn only lane, but ran up to try and cut off the other pickup to go straight. He effed up that other person's truck, and then drove off.
5:04 I think this is the perfect example of the "I'm not letting you in even though you're signaling" truck driver and the "I'm changing lanes regardless so move out of the way" truck driver. Both demonstrated each archetype with 100% commitment.
I don't blame the truck with the trailer. For starters, the red truck is trying to use the turn lane to pass, and how could the other driver know that until the red truck started weaving toward him. Second, there is another car right next to the white truck, so he couldn't exactly swerve out of the way when the red truck started to swerve over, and you can see the white truck begin to brake once he realizes what's going on, but at that moment it was too late.
From the white truck’s perspective, driving into the sun, all he saw was probably a truck suddenly leave the turning lane and end up in front of him. Why would he assume a car in the turning lane that in his peripherals looks to be slowing to turn right, to try actually be cutting him off. We can say be defensive and expect the unexpected all the time, but that’s also not practical in every situation. If red truck wanted back into the lane, tough crap, wait for the space you left to open back up.
@@9Xavier1 Well that's exactly my point, the red truck was allowed to switch to that lane cause the line wasn't solid. But instead of trying to get in front of the other truck it should have slowed down and merged with more caution behind it, where cammer could have given it space. Despite this, red truck doubles down and continues to try to get into the lane knowing that that trailer truck is there. Trailer truck sees red truck still trying to merge and speeds up at 5:14 to purposefully not let red truck in. At this point, both trucks are committed to playing chicken. Red truck is definitely more wrong in this situation though cause it began to change lanes and pass illegally. Of course, we can't know for sure the true intentions of each driver because we weren't in either vehicle. Either way, the point of my original comment was that both were stubborn independent of traffic law and right of way. When red truck realized trailer truck was not letting it in, it should have braked and merged afterward. When trailer truck realized red truck was actively coming into the lane, it should have slowed down and let the red truck in. Instead, they both chose to "win" and now have to deal with the hassle of insurance and repair and all of that. Also, I'm really sorry, I had no intention of writing you an essay. It was an accident, I swear!
@@drunkentrain You may be neglecting to consider the different perspectives, since you are viewing the video from the cam vehicle, which has knowledge of what both trucks are doing. The trailer truck is to the *side* of the red truck when the red truck signals to merge left (and remains to the immediate side until choosing to collide with the side of the trailer truck). That's not a signal that would be easily seen from the trailer truck, so it's unlikely the trailer truck was even aware of that intention (nor is the trailer truck responsible for that awareness, from a legal or a "defensive driving" standpoint).
0:15 Just reading an article from local news. A car did just this, with 2 differences. 1) It was a light not a stop sign. But still he ran it. 2) There was a motorcycle in the lane waiting for the light. Killed the 61 year old rider right there.
2:00 this is exactly why I don't let people merge in front of me when there's already very little space between me and the car in front of me. If they merge in and now I have no time to react if they suddenly brake after merging over, I would be the one liable for rear-ending them without proof they merged in too close.
i do that all the time. It didn't look like brakes were necessary until it was too late. although i would have started breaking right a little sooner than the cammer
Hit and run means someone got hit and someone ran. Usually the party that is guilty runs. Clearly the Dodge driver didn't want something being found out either on their person or in their car. Drugs? Guns? No insurance? Stolen car? Arrest warrant? Possibilities are endless. Yes, the cammer caused the crash but that doesn't explain why the Dodge took off which is illegal.
7:55 not saying the sign runner is right, but the cammer is making a lane change in an intersection which is a moving violation in every state I'm aware of. This situation could have been an annoyance instead of an issue.
@@halenlindberg Incorrect, as the car in question ran a stop-sign, which I hate to be the one to tell you is a huge violation. And brake checking on top of it is a double no-no. If you're stopped or driving below the posted minimum on the highway, for any reason, put your hazard lights on. Many states require it by law, but you're protecting yourself. People driving on the highway generally cannot gauge large speed differences until they're surprisingly close, and if they're going 75 MPH and you're stopped, they'll think your brake lights just mean you're slowing down . . . until they're much too close to stop before they hit you. It happens all the damn time.
2:42 Hit and run? I suppose you could see it that way. You were not paying attention, waited till the last minute to hit your brakes and slammed into someone and they ran off. Sure, but you are the one at fault here.
5:16 - There's an intersection near my house where people do this all the time. Almost every time I drive through there (multiple times per week) someone will cut me off from the turn lane that was marked a thousand feet before. Lately I have lost patience with it. 6:46 No blinker is annoying but black car came to a gradual stop and started braking fairly early in a residential-looking area, so I'm surprised cammer didn't start braking earlier. What the point of having all that space between you and the other driver if you're not gonna use it?
Yep. People just looking for trouble
There is NO need to come to a complete stop, especially if you're not even indicating.
That's why cammer didn't break that early, because normally you don't have to.
@@Re69. There was a white car coming down the driveway. Since the entrance to the driveway only has room for one car, the black car was making sure the white car would stop in order for him to make his turn.
0:06 Finally a cammer who actually stops at the stop sign!!! Sad it didn't end well...
self reports: (the dashcammer being at least partially in the wrong):
2:35 (Obviously didn't pay attention, could have easily seen stopped traffic but didn't until it was too late)
4:25 (cammer ran a stop sign)
4:42 (Dude did not respond adequately to what car in front was doing)
6:20 (Same as previous, though this time more excusible because it's night time)
6:45 (Yeah, car in front should have indicated but cammer could have responded way earlier)
7:05 (the volvo didn't put anyone in danger and didn't brake-check either, just drove slowly when passing a yard with kids playing in it while there was an asshat behind him)
7:55 (this is not really the cammer's fault, but I just wanted to point out this is an incredibly stupid way to design such a busy intersection)
9:15 (semi was already crossing the road long before the cammer got there, but those things need more time and space to do such things, pay attention!)
I feel like one could just copy-paste your comment into every single one of those videos and only change the timestamps to the relevant parts 😂
6:45 cammer could have just rolled and not needed to break, heck, he didn't even need to come to a full stop if that car just moved. Why did he stand still there for no reason?
4:42 the audio here, by the way, is beautiful

1:09 not saying it's his fault, but it is nuts how this guy doesn't even take his foot off the gas before striking that car. not paying enough attention.
If only there was a free lane next to him he could get into while passing the on-ramp....
@@calebwitts1232 it's the merging cars responsibility to make sure the lane is clear before merging!

@@gamefanatics5113 Yes he could have moved over so the car could get on, but he doesn't have to. Also, the white car had an entire length of lane to either speed up and merge in or let the guy pass him before doing so. White car is completely in the wrong.
6:30. It wouldn’t have been a close call at all if you started braking when all the brake lights came on! That’s your sign to get off the gas, apply a little brake and get ready for problems. You drove right into to trouble. Smh

Cammer wasn't paying attention one damn bit
9:20 You're doing 60+ coming up on a 40mph curve at dawn and you're complaining that a truck is turning?
1:20 the fact that they had so much time to merge but chose as soon as their lane opened up (clearly without any regard for whoever was around them) is wild. Like my guy could've saved thousands of $ by just, idk, waiting a half second and, also idk, looking before merging? Idiot. In a car!
Ik
Yeah when the fuck did it become normal to expect people merging onto a highway to stop if there’s cars going by?? If anything the right lane should be clear all the time
@@TherealHughmanThat's not how it works
Texting while driving should be punished with imprisonment. This insanity has to stop.
is it just me or is 2:46 the cammer's fault
it just took him 5 business day to brake.
Yea, the caption is weirdly written but does say the driver is at fault
It was definitely avoidable
absolutely
I think they know that, but the interesting bit is where the other car takes off. This happened to me when a coworker was driving once. He rear-ended a truck, and the truck just zoomed off.
7:10 "wtf is your problem" any normal person would have brushed this off as a mistake but this guy goes full psycho and starts tailgating. Some people.
6:20 "didnt expect the driver in front of me to slam on the brakes"
No shit! That can happen at any time, which is why you keep your distance and pay attention!
7:42 Perhaps the guy didn't like the way you deliberately climbed all over his back bumper like that, and figured a second or two of looking at his rear end would tell you to back off and calm down ....
Especially when he slowed down for the kids playing near the road!
He stopped for a red light....
4:26 is probably the most avoidable accident ever. How this happened is inexplicable
0:20 "she should have seen that stop sign !" is so funny, even the kid knows better ! 😂
I use a dashcam app on my phone, but want an actual dashcam that records the back as well as the front.
4:55 you didn't even attempt to stop until it was too late. Your fault.
1:30 Bro's a legend, he's listening to Sabaton.
How did some of these drivers pass their road test is beyond me.
@@fkUTube449 Yeah, I don't know why I wrote all of that cause my first comment was a joke. I still stand by what I said though.
0:15 Just reading an article from local news. A car did just this, with 2 differences. 1) It was a light not a stop sign. But still he ran it. 2) There was a motorcycle in the lane waiting for the light. Killed the 61 year old rider right there.
4:26 Failed to *stop* at a Stop sign.
His genuine excitement is what makes this video a must-watch. Idiots in cars got instant karma is gold!
2:00 this is exactly why I don't let people merge in front of me when there's already very little space between me and the car in front of me. If they merge in and now I have no time to react if they suddenly brake after merging over, I would be the one liable for rear-ending them without proof they merged in too close.
5:00 can’t believe they use not expecting to break as hard as an excuse
i do that all the time. It didn't look like brakes were necessary until it was too late. although i would have started breaking right a little sooner than the cammer

This is no way the black chargers fault, the cammer wasn't paying attention.
Then tries to say it's the black cars fault !?
You are CRAZY.

98% of Americans around the country do not know how to drive.

I noticed a lot of these videos where of people either going to fast and/or not paying attention to what was going on in front of them.
1:04 why not just change lanes in the first place?
Because he's already going much faster than the other car and the merge lane goes on for days. There's no reason to get over for the other car.
