👏👏👏 exactly. No one can really make you FEEL something .. if someone tries to embarrass you, yet you aren't embarrassed...you aren't embarrassed. It's that simple.
@@lookgoodinphotos how did you learn all of this? Do they teach you this in photography class? Or is it more of an acting/film school thing? Or you just learned from life experience? Love your tutorials, I send them to my sister so we can take killer photos together!
EXACTLY, and this rule is present in a lot of creative expression. Go for it full force. Don't fear cringiness or embarrassment, just become the concept you have in mind, and perform it like you'll receive a standing ovation. If you risk looking awkward whether you do or don't commit, you might as well take the chance that you'll look brilliant and exactly how you imagine.
For artists this is really important! Even a simple portrait can become infinitely more interesting just by adjusting the shoulders. Its all about the dynamic poses.
I learned this early in! I love to do slightly raised, mid movement shoulders on little cartoon portraits to give them some life and energy, attempt to make the picture look less like a mugshot, and more like a candid photo
i can’t believe ppl say that modeling isn’t a talent bc it actually takes work to be able to know how to pose correctly. def not as much talent as being a musician or writer for example but modeling is definitely a talent. edit: theyre two different things OBVIOUSLY and ive literally stated that multiple times. please leave me alone and stop trying to pick fights when i already made my point clear that theyre not comparable
As a failed teenage model, YES!! You can be a tall person with interesting bone structure, but that does NOT make you a good model. I still don’t know how to flatter myself in photos 😂
people underestimate the power a photographer holds. you could make the most artistic pose but it doesn't mean shit if the photographer decides to capture you from an unflattering angle
Exactly, it’s not just about the pose or position of the person, but Zendaya is wearing a much more dramatic and out there outfit and the makeup matches, so the pose suits the dress. Compared to some of the other photos shown that had kind of basic white dresses
In art we use something called line of action, it is a sort guide to make the pose look more fluid and dynamic. Without it* the poses tend to look more stiff and forced. *in well done pieces you can find it even if the artist didn’t consciously use it
As a dance teacher, I’d also add that in any pose it’s important to engage the whole body, especially the core muscles. If you pose your arms an elevated pose but don’t connect them to the core, they will look disconnected and awkward. Compared to Zendaya for example, she’s activating her entire body and not just focusing on certain parts, like arms.
To me, it’s all about facial expression. They have a focused and intentional look in their eyes as opposed to the other two who look either slightly lost or kind of just head-empty.
Let’s not forget that Zarndaya is a professional model.. for years now, so she knows how to work her body and her angles etc. She probably even practises beforehand
Multi-talented actors/singers who know how to draw or photograph others often understand this better and those who have modelled often instinctively know this stuff
The issue is some celebs look directly at the camera like they would in movies whereas zendaya doesn’t just focus on the camera like that pose where her face is square on with the camera and she’s in a teapot pose if she had tilted her head up and looked over her shoulder away from the camera it would of made it appear more dramatic
If you learn anatomy and gesture for drawing, there's this concept of contrapposto (counter balancing the lines of the hips vs the lines of the shoulders) and using dynamic shapes that create rhythm. This is an interesting case study for that
Zendaya's pose reminded me of that one Seventeen's predebut photoshoot where everyone else was posing like it's for their school id-card and Vernon was tryna do this exact same pose😂😂😂
Its because they understand the base for modeling. Its sooo good and its all tecnic, people dont usually think that modeling takes more than being "pretty"
"How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand- when I awake, I am still with you." Psalm 139:17-18 NIV
Bringing in stuff from drawing, but having an interesting "line of action" to follow is important too. In the awkward ones, theyre mostly standing straight which creates a boring line of action. But, if you add more into your posing using your hips, legs, shoulders, heads, etc., it makes the line of action more interesting to follow.
I feel like these two have really cemented themselves as stars because when I first saw this my first thought was Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya not Euphoria
Not only just with photos, but also with drawing and painting, this is poses 101. It will make a HUGE difference in your art if you pay attention to making the poses actually "flow".
Posing in photos is about constantly moving ever so slightly...aka shifting..... only real exception are action shots usually used for athletic related things. You crate your base & shift (S-shapes are usually the most attractive)

It's not just the shoulders, it's the attitude. If you feel awkward you look awkward
👏👏👏 exactly. No one can really make you FEEL something .. if someone tries to embarrass you, yet you aren't embarrassed...you aren't embarrassed. It's that simple.
Ann ward begs to differ 🤭
Zendaya is doing the pose that we now make fun of every contest on America's Next Top Model in the mid 2000's for doing
A lot of those had a more concave back though!

well she’s ZENDAYA
I actually liked those poses, and still do
Hoe….but make it fashun!!!!
I really thought Sidney was Billie 😂😂
Me too 😂
They look surprisingly similar

This is bad but it reminded me of something my mom used to say. She didn’t think all white people look alike, but she thought all blondes do
Yes its also, COMMITTTT 😂. Commit to the pose. Dont half-ass it.
Yep!! The second you pull back you look awkward. You can do exactly the same pose, but the one with confidence and commitment will look 1000% better!

@lilpetz500 Exactly! It changes a surprising lot for such a small detail. It took me an embarrassing amount of time to learn it.
The models are lucky that Zendaya chose acting
She still one of the ones dominating the model and fashion game as an actress🙌🏽❤️
Singers are lucky too 😊
@@nixiepixie3021and comedians, dancers
Please stop discrediting other models just because Zendaya does a slightly good job at posing than other actors
She should modelling, she is not really good at acting
i can’t believe ppl say that modeling isn’t a talent bc it actually takes work to be able to know how to pose correctly. def not as much talent as being a musician or writer for example but modeling is definitely a talent. edit: theyre two different things OBVIOUSLY and ive literally stated that multiple times. please leave me alone and stop trying to pick fights when i already made my point clear that theyre not comparable
skill: result of practice
talent: innate ability
As a failed teenage model, YES!! You can be a tall person with interesting bone structure, but that does NOT make you a good model. I still don’t know how to flatter myself in photos 😂
I think it’s because being a talented walker/poser for sure requires less talent than being a talented musician for example.
That talent seems useless to me, like what do you do for the world by modeling?
How can such a mundane thing be a talent?
I thought Sydney Sweeney was Billie Eilish for a sec lmao 💀
lmao fr me too
same
I did too, hair changes everything
people underestimate the power a photographer holds. you could make the most artistic pose but it doesn't mean shit if the photographer decides to capture you from an unflattering angle
Zendaya is unmatched.
It looks sooo silly in real life but very good in photos 😭😭😭
If you’re doing a pose like that, you have to overexaggerate it. Like putting on stage make up when you’re on Broadway, pack that shit on 😂
Exactly, it’s not just about the pose or position of the person, but Zendaya is wearing a much more dramatic and out there outfit and the makeup matches, so the pose suits the dress. Compared to some of the other photos shown that had kind of basic white dresses
Stand user vs not stand user
Love this because I was honestly kinda mesmerized by Zendaya in these shots over the last few days because her poses were so stunning and flawless
Z is ALWAYS stunning and flawless! She really is one of a kind! ❤❤
It's knowing how to pose that majorly contributes to how you can look on a picture.
Not just posing, facial expression is also so important!
Now, you should do a short of people on a red carpet who completely fails at posing! 🤭
I loved them both, and their outfits.
In art we use something called line of action, it is a sort guide to make the pose look more fluid and dynamic. Without it* the poses tend to look more stiff and forced.
*in well done pieces you can find it even if the artist didn’t consciously use it
For a sec I thought sydney are billie cause of her black hair 😂

Zen days always makes me think of cruella devil when she poses this way, I just love the energy she gives out
It’s all about the dynamics in their silhouette. If their poses are fully blacked out, it should still be able to translate.
Zendaya and Sydney look gorgeous!! I love their dresses!
I love to see a model's talents in action. People are so quick to say they're just a pretty face, but there really is actual skill involved
Zendaya is serving, giving Cruella. And I am here for it.
I love Zendaya, but that pose makes it look like her stomach cramps just kicked in
It also helps to just be her.
I can’t get over how stunning Sidney looks with Black hair!! She should have played Snow White!!
Zendaya hittin that Lisa Lisa pose
as an artist i study poses like this for characters too ! very important to make poses hit hard
Its the EYES WHO MAKE DIFFERENCE the mouth mouvement sleepy eyes or mysterious eyes are everything
both of them have experience with modeling so theyre used to striking good poses quickly and knowing their angles
ALL EYES ON RAFAH
Let’s not forget that Zarndaya is a professional model.. for years now, so she knows how to work her body and her angles etc. She probably even practises beforehand
Multi-talented actors/singers who know how to draw or photograph others often understand this better and those who have modelled often instinctively know this stuff
I love the all eyes on rafah pose!!
Sydney has big heart
It's that natural awareness of what looks good. And all that modeling didn't hurt either.
Kidman actually looked cool
ZENDAYA JOJO POSING
Zendaya having a dance background also helps bc she’s aware of how to create nice lines with her body

Oooh i love this! I started following ballet girls because they teach form but you broke down why I searched for them in the first place: photography
But first, you have to be beautiful to even pose
I say it's not about shoulders or head specifically. But its the look on your face. The more serious and "killing" the more confident it looks
FRICK THE CELEBS BLOCK EM ALL
Imma keep this in mind for drawing
Zendaya's pose reminded me of that one Seventeen's predebut photoshoot where everyone else was posing like it's for their school id-card and Vernon was tryna do this exact same pose😂😂😂

They're so pretty wtf Zendaya looks great with that make up

It’s literally just the “avant garde” style. Also the snap chosen. Some will look awkward and others won’t.
"How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand- when I awake, I am still with you." Psalm 139:17-18 NIV
You have a great professional eye
Zendeya is also a moddel wich probably helps

Araki is so excited with the reference they’re giving him
They are sooooo beautiful!!!
The celebs who started out as models
I’m an artist and I’m saving this to share with newbies. I keep seeing new artists forget that shoulders exist!!
Zendaya is such a model
zendaya looks like a jojo character 😍
i swear thats a jojo pose
Honestly nah zendaya pushing out a fart you can't tell me otherwise 😂😂😂
All of them look funny 😂
Zendaya models, so I never wondered why she always looks amazing.
Watch old haute couture shows. The models mostly pose like that for dramatic effect. Eg. John Galliano for Dior.
Gotta love em shoulders
Zendaya looks amazing
no not really, not lately anyway. All Eyes On Rafah 🇵🇸
my team is wanderer, xiao, faruzan, and layla!😊 btw very cool and unique art style!
I am over here shimmy my shoulders trying to pose 😂

i think the outfit and general vibe matters too
Wait t that Sidney?? I thought that was Billie Elish, what the hell...
she had different hair for the gala
This is so informative! Great job, fantastic reporting!🌻🌼🐝 Keep it up 🙌
Zendaya looks so awkward though lol
I wanted to see the awkward poses in video too!
They’re on my TT since shorts are only 1 min: www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRw4j3kw/
I haven’t wondered, because it looks ridiculous when Zendaya does it too!! #blockout2024
All eyes on Rafah🍉

Zendaya be looking like a JoJo’s character
Me: pulls out peace or spiderman hands
"can pull it off" lmao
CONFIDENT AND PRACTICS IS KEY GIRLS
Zendaya is just way too good as a model
Also : be crazy hot. It really helps.
Its not just that they are more attractive.....😮
Zendaya looks like she is releasing some gas!!!
Zendaya looks like Cyndi Lauper in these photos and I love it!
Sidney that's billie 😂
So glad Billie dyed her hair black again.
Soo crazy I’ve never noticed but now that you pointed it out…
I never wondered this... but yeah thanks, now I know ha
