I'm 32 and I have no idea how Twitter works. Why? Because I don't seek confirmation. IMO using social media is pathetic because people are obsessed with being acknowledged and they can't survive on their own. They need other people to be happy, and that is something I look down on. Everyone should learn to be happy in their own company and not be so dependent on being social. I mean, I barely noticed the pandemic while everyone else were complaining left and right because they were missing their friends and families. I didn't because I can be happy on my own. So websites like Twitter is IMO for people that need other people to survive, and it's for people that need confirmation and acknowledgement. Which are things I couldn't care less about. I don't care if someone agree or don't agree with me, the only opinion that matters to me is my own. And people is something I'd rather see less of actually. So if I can come home from work and just forget about everyone else for a few hours I'm happy. I don't want them invading my free-time. Btw, I'm not a sad loner. I have a child and a partner : - )
The only websites I use are Reddit and UA-cam and I rarely make any comments. It took me 4 years to get 2k karma on Reddit. I deleted my account a few days ago and created a new one because I didn't like the nickname I had there. I don't care about upvotes. But the kind of people that use Twitter and Facebook are the ones that crave those upvotes. The ones with 1 billion worthless karma points on Reddit. Why are they seeking that attention? Does it make them better at anything? Why don't they learn a new skill instead? Take a trip around the world and see stuff. Go touch grass.
agreed i am 20 and stopped using social media few years ago because i started thinking about likes, comments and how much better other people's lives are alot, much better now. I also just use youtube and reddit(for memes and tech specific advice)
