  • Silver Spike here during this video I'm processing Galena.
There is no narrating throughout the duration of this video. I was attempting to record the script but my voice got rather froggy. So I just decided to mix it with music instead. I started out with roasting the ore. After sitting overnight I followed up with crushing the larger pieces. Then reducing all of the pieces to a fine powder in the ball mill. Unfortunately I had to pan all of the material down to the concentrates. Once that was completed. I collected all of the concentrates to dry in the oven. That is a slow process and takes several hours. It requires starting at a low temperature then increasing the heat. This is all in preparation for my next smelt. I will be uploading that as part two. I need to buy a new crucible to maintain the integrity of this smelt. I do not want any contaminants during this process. I want the end result to be pure silver. Thank you for watching. Share your thoughts, give a thumbs up and have an awesome day!

Thank you so much! I mixed it myself. I call it the prospecting robot. How about that collaboration with me to Silver Mountain mine?

@@smokeyandspikeproductions Wow! You are very talented my friend. The mix with vid was perfect and very relaxing. You are the real deal keeping the dream alive. I can't wait to watch part two tonight. I'm a natural loner and wanderer. If I was to do a collaboration, it would most definitely be with you. I'm sure I'd learn a lot.

@@LowBudgetExploration Thank you so much and I understand. Less distractions, more focus on safety and the hiking. Believe me, I know what you're talking about. Hiking in groups sometimes can be counterproductive on prospecting adventures, but I'd love to have you come along sometime. Have an awesome day my friend!

I heard that 30% silver recovery is not profitable but i find it in Montana all over and who buys lead?

Profitability is important! If you eliminate all of the middlemen and refine the precious metals including pouring and stamping bars. Profit increases and cost decreases. As far as companies or individuals purchasing or selling lead. There are options out there, lead definitely has multiple uses. I have not researched companies interested in lead.

@silverspikeprospecting I have a silver and led mine in Idaho. It's the Hope mine in Clark Fork Idaho. Their is so much that they left they didn't care about the stuff close to the surface. They were more interested in the 1,300 feet level their is 50 years of mining at that level. The Army Core of engineers came in an took core samples and that was their results. The mine was shut down all the able bodied men were sent to WW2. So it's all still down their the bad thing is it's under a creek that flows year round. The old timers said they had pumps running non stop when it was open.

@@D-train69 I have a massive pump. Just needs a generator to run it out in the field. When do we get started?

@silverspikeprospecting I wish I'd imagine the EPA would be all over my ass for pumping water out of an old mine back into the creek. Even if we had sediment ponds they would freak out.
