- Beginning this month, "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria hosts a new CNN travel show, "Searching for Mexico," which celebrates the food, people and culture of her Mexican heritage. She talks with correspondent Lee Cowan about the series; about fighting to make a difference while celebrating the contributions of Latinos and Hispanics; and about her directorial film debut: "Flamin' Hot," an origin story about the purported creator of Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

It’s a very simple dish- a tomato based soup with thin noodles. Some people leave it simple and serve with a side of meat, others add carrots, potatoes and chicken. Either way it’s divine, definitely a comfort food. ❤

Very few celebrities who have achieved a certain level of success and got their first jobs on soaps EVER reference them. Mostly because there is still a negative stigma attached to the work done on daytime. Which is LUDICROUS because those actors are probably the hardest working ones out there.
In 2001-03 on _The Young and the Restless_ , she played the role of Isabella Braña for 148 episodes. But she is more known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on _Desperate Housewives_ in 2004-12.
@@Julieglam3 The viewing audience for daytime drama has been steadily diminishing over the decades. Just look how many daytime series have ended their runs.
@@RaymondHng yes...and they have been replaced with the same formats on streaming services like Netflix. Yellowstone for example nothing but a reworked version of the nighttime soap which was Dallas. There are many others I could mention but the framework is the same. But I guarantee that you won't be able to think of one of those who have STAYED on television for 35, 50 or 60 years. Only on DAYTIME will you find that.
Exactly. And Desperate Housewives WAS a soap. It was just on at night rather than in the daytime hours.

I really like her but she’s doing a disservice to her own people to not discuss the open border situation and speak on the cartel. Her own people are being abused, children and woman getting raped. She has a platform and she can really shine a light to these issue. I mean she has a degree in Chicano studies and she doesn’t speak about the real issues. Like I said I like her a lot. But she’s really not using her platform the right way. Her own mentor had the courage to stand up and fight. Do better girl.
She works for the elitists and their agenda. Her "voice" has a price, and they pay her well. She played a latina who slept around, and they presented that as "representing latinas on TV". Wow!

This isn’t a story about Eva and her culinary aspirations, it’s about her political leanings. Interesting how many Latino people identify with conservative values, but that story will be completely ignored because it’s more important to put a Latina face in front of a camera that identifies with liberal politics.
many young latinos have similar political leanings to eva, while yes many older immigrant latinos have conservative values those born in the usa are a lot more diverse

I think it depends on which part of the country one is from. For example, here in CA many Latinos are liberal esp in Northern CA and Florida obviously is way more conservative because of los Cubanos. My family has been here since late 1940s from Nicaragua and pretty much all lean to the left.
Even if Latinos did have fiscally and/or socially conservative beliefs, the Republican Party offers nothing for us.
It's a little sad that all she's doing is taking off a dead man's shoes and walking away in them. Another little wannabe sociopath playing step and fetch it for corporate money men. If you only knew what she did to get where she is now.

I love her and respect but this so cheap. She never ever talked about her heritage before marrying a mexican man. Why why why women are so into their men. Are conservative Latinos dismissed and ignored? This weakly program does not provide journalistic integrity and fair and balanced reporting. It's junk food for the masses.
