- In this episode of Research Flow; Jobelle Bruno, a PhD candidate in Plant Pathology and Crop Physiology at Louisiana State University, shares her journey as a woman in science and offers insight into navigating the pressures of academia. Her works involve seed-biorpiming of rice to increase resistance against fungal and bacterial diseases of rice, investigating burkholderia genetics/ genomics and identification of new pathogens/diseases of rice. In this talk, we explore the challenges of handling rejection as a PhD candidate, the critical importance of publishing, and her strategies for empowerment in STEM. Drawing from nearly 10 years of experience, Jobelle discusses leadership, adaptability, and the resilience needed to succeed in both research and the academic community.
