I open 2 boxes of 2022-23 SP Authentic Hobby Hockey in hope of pulling an actual future watch auto. 9 cards per pack 10 packs per box with 2 autos promised.

It sucks seeing your opinion on SPA being ruined by the retros zeeree, but you are exactly right. Such a shame. The only thing we can do as consumers is protest with our wallets, don't buy the garbage and eventually they'll wisen up!
boycott breakers, let them suffer the useless product collecting dust on their shelf. thats why they hide a lotto ticket in the box so people will stay interested.
Box and Case breakers like GP have ruined the hobby. I started saying this 10 years ago and everyone was like "Nah.." but here we are! Sp was the only product I've ever truly liked, and now it's garbage just like all the rest. UD doesn't even realize how pissed their customers are because the Case breakers buying 4-5 cases in release day, makes the product look like a hit to them when in reality nearly every single hobby store has so much overstock of garbage they can't sell due to the watered down products with massively inflated price tags. I've been collecting cards now for over 30 years, I've owned and run a hobby shop for 11 years, and Bedard is the only thing keeping me around for this final year of collecting before saying goodbye to the hobby, will be selling the shop as well, had enough of apologizing to customers for the prices and for the junk they are getting from boxes.

If they're going to have the Retro FW, have them as an additional card that doesn't count as one of the future watches. A FW should be a design from the year it was released. Players are going to be on the LTIR with carpal tunnel from signing all this extra garbage. Love the content and keep up the good work!

Topps did something similar in the mid 2000's to Bowman baseball. One auto per box which has almost always been one chrome true first-year auto but for that short time they replaced some of them with sticker auto inserts. Absolutely get where you are coming from.

You are part of why SP is like this. In your desire to make money from opening hockey cards, you drove up demand for the product, and Upper Deck had no choice but to either expand the number of FWAs, massively increase the price of the product, or leave millions of dollars on the table. But like you, they exist to make money. So, this is on you. Hope you got what you wanted.
Must miss the sponsor ad at the beginning of each video. Content creator isn't paying for these boxes. The distributor gives them for free for exposure to possible customers.
I highly doubt Zeeree opens boxes to make money, in fact I bet he loses a ton of money. Opening boxes with the objective to "make money" is a really bad idea. He opens product for the fun of it and this product is no longer fun for him to open. I would bet he would've been happier with a regular FWA worth $20 than the Owen Power retro he pulled.

I bought a Ty Rattie future watch auto patch 2013 14/ 100, 4 color on ebay for 17 .The player I don't know him too much but the patch is sick.
That last Retro Future watch auto that you got, felt like such a big middle finger to you, I had to chuckle in anger. I bet you for 23-24 they are going to have 2003-2004, 2008-2009, 2013-2014, and 2018-2019 retro FWA’s just to sell more Bedard. What a joke
I’ve been watching for years, open hockey in a non hockey state when I can and I actually truly feel bad, because you are actually usually happy with SPA, even in the previous years of watering it down. Hope you hit some big ones when you end up buying an inner or 16 box case! 😂
Hard to believe when I got back into the hobby in 13-14 you got 3 auto's a box (at least 2 FWA's) and it was just a hair over $110 CAD; I never felt anxiety like buying a Mackinnon FWA redemption for $185...

Sp authentic died for me about 11 years ago. They absolutely killed it with the watered down autographs. These last 2 years have been an over the top cash grab.

I was shocked when you were pulling good hits cause our case had only 3 current year FWA last year. Had a few retros and junk names from 20-21 thrown in boxes as carry over. Didn’t even bother this year

Hypothetically If I owned say 10 cards signed and numbered to 10 of any player and destroyed 9 of them on camera for the world to see would the 1 card not destroyed skyrocket in value ?

the fact that it’s $225 for a fwa that’s not even guaranteed to be a regular fwa is absurd. it should be guaranteed 1 and put retros on top of the regular fwa
If regular FWA were guaranteed, Upper Deck would only be able to produce 99,990 boxes.
I know Retro's are terrible, yet I still collect them for my Blackhawks Future Watch PC. They are dumb, but they help fill my PC
SPA looks VERY weak this year, I have watched 10+ cases ripped already and nothing amazing, I was going to pick up some boxes but I have decided to just wait for UD series 2 at this point

Bought a pack of these, pulled a future watch rookie auto holmstrom… don’t know if it’s that valuable but regardless was my first signed FW
I opened my box and got a 2022 design FWA and Patch auto, but the 2 players I got were 'who's this?' look at hockey db kinda guys.
Really hope zeeree can get some decent stuff in his other boxes
Looks like buying upper deck series 1 and spa is almost surely losing money in 75% of the case,maybe more it's bullshit for sure.
Better to get older boxes now than new ones. I opened a box of 11-12 sp game used and couldn't believe how much better it was than modern sp game used, ud needs competition so they have no choice but to make a better product like when topps was around. They aren't as bad as panini though for the time

Thanks for the great content though. You saved me hundreds of dollars if not more, because I won't be dropping a dime on this trash. Put that money towards more series 2!

I absolutely agree with you 100% on those retro future watch ! Never liked them when they started this trend, but now they took it to the next level … this is really bad … they want to sell more box but unfortunately this is the way to ruin one of the flagship products… I hope Upper Deck is listening to the collectors because we will stop investing in this product… this also used to be my favorite product Now not so much 😢
It's the same as buying a product called Game Used and getting player worn shit. You buy 23 sp the get 23 fw not retro. The retros are cool but after u get the guaranteed 23 fw.
Man, hearing the disappointment in Zeeree’s voice is tough. Always looked forward to his SPA case break (Platinum as well) and to just hear him broken sucks.
Should be at least one base FWA /999 per box... at least the Power Retro FWA paid for a whole box though. Hope UD is watching and can improve.

I pulled a true Guhle and Samberg FWA in my lone box, so I just feel extra bad for you after watching this. The only reason why the retros exist is so they can print more product. There’s very little demand for these.
I pulled Olie Juolevi retro last night along with an Elvis Limited Auto at my LCS. I went home and ordered 6 hobby boxes of 2021-22 S2 online instead of 2 more SPA boxes. I'm done with this trash - probably the weakest rookie crop in the last decade+ anyway!

Unfortunately this has been coming for quite a few years, not as bad as your break though. That was terrible. I just buy the ones I want as it is usually cheaper. I collect Pens and lets face it the last Future Watch of any value there was Guentzel

@@ozsportscardcollector2.512 Bedard is the nail in the coffin tbh. They extremely overprinted McDavid YGs, and they're still raw ~$900. Bedard will be $600 before the product hits epack. What I'm saying is, YGs will always have value, SPA is becoming trash.

the Retros should be just numbered with no autos. and yeah the SP hockey sounds like the have over produced it with 8 or 9 parallels per player and part they only give you one numbered card per blaster. with. I really liked the SP hockey because I can afford it over SPA.

Not to rub salt into the wound, but I pulled a true future watch auto of Matty Beniers today from my first box.
The writing has been on the wall for a while now but this seals it for me. UD is cashing out and just spamming feces until the market pops just like it did late 90's. Theres more speculative investment then enthusiasm in the market it might as well be crypto. It's soured me on the Bedard hunt, because it just won't be worth it short term. I know this because they watered down SPA enough to stop Zeeree from memeing a brad card. What have they done!

I love your videos, but this one is the best haha. It's 100% true. SPA was my favourite product ever, and it's ruined...like most hockey card products, unfortunately. I hope Upper Deck does something about it because people will soon realize it and stop buying. Very few products from recent years will keep their value long-term because of dilution and lousy product decisions...and on top of that, most cards are damaged. Mint hockey cards do not exist anymore...GARBAGE LOL.
Series 1 had me so hyped for this year's UD products and then... we get this. SP used to be my favorite series to collect as well. Horrible. Just horrible.
