It's not just Diplomacy, it's also the PRIDE of India( although it should be pride of East, but many people have either converted or forgotten about it)
Whole Indian culture essentially revolves around Yoga. Yoga itself is vast & ancient. Tantra, Meditation(Dhyana), Asana, Mantras, Ayurveda(Herbal medicines) e.t.c are all part of it. Martial arts is also fused with Yogic knowledge.
Taosim of China & Zen of Japan has also been derived from Yoga.
It's unfortunate that in recent centuries due to foreign invasion, many ancient lineage of Yogis has been wiped out & gradually faded away.

My start in yoga began long ago with Step Eleven, "We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for the knowledge of His will, and the power to carry it out." I am still sober, one day at a time. My memories of the meditation masters are indelible: TM, the Hare Krishna prophet, Yogananda, Vedanta (Ramakrishna and Vivekenanda) and more recently, the yoga master of the ten-day Vipassana Retreat. So grateful for these indelible marks on my soul and this ability actually "to know God." But all of this is empty if it does not affect daily life, especially the qualitiy of our work, and the positive character of our work relationships. For this is where we spend most of our waking hours. Meditation can be about "stress relief," but it is also mainly about bringing positive vibes (self-giving love) where ever we go, and whatever we are doing in this world.
