Hiromatsu Sama was a dominating and profound character. I loved his interaction with Ishito and Yabusiege (sp). His wry humor and matter-of-fact responses about Osaka were funny! I loved the scene (one of many) in which he told Yabusiege that Toranaga has claimed the foreign ship, and when Yabusiege flinched, Hiromatsu slowly went to the sword as did Hiromatsu's samurai. PRICELESS. Domo Arigato Goziamasu
Nishioka-san (Hiromatsu) said in one of the Disney Plus Japan interview clips that he thought he was specifically hired to do the great seppuku scene. In that scene, he said all fellow actors and the entire filming crew really cried.
Hiromatsu kind of reminds me of Heihachi of the Tekken series. A strong combat veteran who is very focused and does not play around. No wonder Hiromatsu is nicknamed “Iron Fist”.👊 Don’t piss him off.😬
In that life, one must have an iron will, unshakable courage, and the complete acceptance that one could lose his life at anytime. To sit in there with those regents and knowing what could follow takes great fortitude, because Toranaga could have been sending him to his death.
I understand why Toranaga sacrificed the two, but he played it close. Meaning, when you lose people close to you, even if you do win, which he did, you have less allies and people that you can trust.
He dominated every scene he was in 😢
As did Toranaga and Yabushige. Such a strong main cast.
Hiromatsu's interaction with the council, particularly Ishido, was epic! I loved the musical-like delivery that he gave to the council. EPIC!

Hiromatsu sama was my favorite character in the series
Great character, loyal to his lord even to the point of sacrificing himself for him.

Hiromatsu was like tough and loyal like Blackfish in Game of Thrones
Perfect analogy! Wish we could've seen him fight more.
Oh yes.. the grandpa is the real boss

So good.
Best Scene. Hands down. 1:39
Badass general 😎 like uncle Iroh
I would take an old veteran like Hiromatsu over a young prodigy in a heart beat. But if the old veteran trained the prodigy then we're even better lol
Wish we could see Hiromatsu in season 2!
When will the Emmy Awards be announced? I'm sure the General will win.
