Not the Doc lol, and to be perfectly frank unless I was a local taking only what I could use in a year I would feel uncomfortable harvesting wild fish of any kind from the OP, there really are not many fish returning to those rivers relative to the size. If I guessed the river in the video correctly it sees around 4000 wild Kings back every Fall at the most, and 800 Spring/Summer runs
I like the video... one tip for you... after you set that hook good and know it's on... keep your tip of the rod down and side to side it not up and down.... they won't jump as much and you will land allot more.... but amazing fish and great scenery...I was thinking of fishing up there recently.. I'm not far from there and never fished up there... BEAUTIFUL
Sorry about your cat. Love your videos, they've inspired me to stick with the jig a bit more. I'm normally running and gunning with spoons and spinners for salmon and steelhead.
Olympic national park does not make the fishing regulations towards rivers wdfw does and the Regs state only wild coho must be released on the sol duc.
We were fishing in the National Park Quillayute River: Here is what I read based on that no wild salmonids can be kept. Once your above the Park than you can keep wild Chinook. Fishing - Olympic National Park (U.S. National Park Service)www.nps.gov › olym › planyourvisit › fishing Release all wild steelhead, salmon, and trout regardless of size. See State regulations for daily limits of hatchery salmon and steelhead from the park boundary upstream to the confluences of the Sol Duc and Bogachiel Rivers. ... No daily, size, or possession limits for brook trout.
@@Le_Fish29 Yes, under a float and try to keep the shrimp about 1 foot or so off the bottom. Sometimes though the fish may be schooled up in varying depths, in that case adjust you depth.
You’re really off putting, maybe rubed on you from your russian lady or is just who you are! Chill a bit! You found your niche though with them sand shrimps! Tight lines!
Watch that Jack Jumps 3:44
that fish could get a job at sea world
You can keep wild chinook on the sol duc just for future reference majority of chinook on the Olympic peninsula are wild
We know that thanks.
There are very few wild fish of any sort in the sol duc. Abd that looks like the suit, not the duc.

That was a very acrobatic fish! Awesome video!!!
I don't recall ever having a trout, steelhead or salmon jump as high as that jack Chinook did.
