DESIGNED in the late 60s by Richard Teague, the father of the Jeep Cherokee XJ and Pacer - take a look at the award-winning ‘Javelin’ car. Brothers Mike and Jim Ring are known for having dedicated 4,700 hours to a 1969 Dodge Charger. Now, they’ve taken their passion into doing major bodywork and horsepower changes to high-end muscle car 1972 AMX Javelin. “Too much horsepower in a cool old vintage car, it’s a freak,” Mike said. According to the Ring brothers, the Javelin is an unusual choice for car enthusiasts. “If you talked to all the Ford Mustang guys and all the Camaro guys back then, the AMX Javelin was probably the ugly duckling” said Jim Ring. This did not stop the Ring brothers, and they set about an epic year-long project that cost them a whopping $500,000.

The Ring Brothers are incredible automotive artists. Congrats on this fantastic ride.
yeah they are crazy first heard of them from Richard Rawlins when he bought that Pantera
One of the best but most overlooked muscle cars of its day. But that day has passed.
What they did to that car, is a master piece
I have a 74 javelin AMX , love that car. Best purchase ive ever made, it's nice seeing this car get amc and javelins the attention they deserve
You are a lucky man. Awesome cars : )
I bought a 1972 javelin in 1976 from a guy from Pennsylvania and I could already see though the floorboards. I loved it and everyone I knew loved it. I put some 10” tires on the back and 7” on the front on flowered mages. I had the A frames stretched so the front end would sit up a little higher because I had to put air shocks on the back to keep the tires from getting ate up by the fenders. I think all of the wheels in those days were 14” or smaller on most cars.
I am blown away (no pun intended) by this AMC.. I just found my new favorite car of all time. Being a Mopar owner of a 71 Roadrunner I’m loving the fact of the Hellcat transplant.. 👍🏼
That is one of the most badass cars I’ve ever seen.
One of the sickest rides ever, that thing is GORGEOUS!
instaBlaster...
Have you ever seen a top view of a javelin? Sexiest car ever made!
I Had the 1969 390 AMX I loved it I wish I can one again
I used to have three, two 1973,and 1974 sst,,was a lot of fun, lite in the rear, can get away from you, glad to see some still ruining
Without a doubt, the coolest AMX, I've ever seen.
Always loved the Javelin. Brilliant to drop a Hellcat power train in there. Gorgeous car indeed!
That thing is absolutely gorgeous - from how the wheels look & sit - the lines of it. Stunning
That's hell of a ride. But, half a million is more than slightly above my budget at this point of time.😄
Absolutely a Picasso of automobiles
Excellent design work - definitely should be put into production. Great original design updated magnificently!. Always been a fan of AMC outstanding designs. Hornet and Hornet Sportabout could very much hold their own with a similar make over.
I knew a guy who drove an AMX Javelin mated to a Pontiac Firebird nose, sitting on a Jimmy 4X4 frame with a 454 v8. Jet black, everything. Wild.
Straight up one of the most beautiful cars in the world!
Back in the late seventies a friend of mine had a barracuda, this card reminded me of that car it was super fast
I love the looks of the 'Cudas.
I love AMC's, and this one is tops
that is the most beautiful javelin I ever saw
Es un auto bellísimo, con muy pocas modificaciones estéticas quedo presioso, claro que compite con todos los auto mucle de la epoca
Ring bros really have great handle on modding these muscle cars quality workmanship great detail
Just think .. this could've been a great build if they had done it with an AMC motor.
I agree. Hellcats sound nice, but they dont really sound like an old muscle car.
@@wadeguidry6675 back in the day when those were built you could have side pipes or regular .. but they were both Thrush mufflers. That was AMC performance mufflers of choice from factory.
@@FrankStein1 I've never seen side pipes on a javelin. Are you sure about that? Is there any documentation? I'd love to get something like that for my 73 javelin.
@@johnwyman6126 ive tried 3x to post the link.
@@johnwyman6126 ok ive uploaded as video .... never did that before . Can't understand why its quality is so poor. Ive tried several times to load actual web page it refuses. Look at my profile tap the video . Ill take it back down after you see it . Don't want to violate rules of copyright .
I like the Ring Javelin......what AMC fan wouldn't. But my 73 JAvelin with it's long nose I still prefer. Good to see an AMC done up. Thx
I've got a 73 360 in Maxi blue. What color is yours?
@@johnwyman6126 BBO!!!
Sickest Javelin ever.
RING brothers absolute Legends
I have a soft spot being from Racine WI and AMC was being built one city over in Kenosha, WI...and I remembered the year they closed shop....it was like the world ended. I have owned a few AMC's and 2 AMX's, 70, and 71 restored basically to stock. This by far is the nicest beast of an AMX I have ever seen or read about. To date this AMX is still my favorite Ringbrothers master piece...and with the stretched front end is how the car should have come from the factory.
The Kenosha Cadillac :-)
We had a 73 AMX, I don’t think that’s an AMX, that’s the SST I believe. The AMX had the 4 individual tail lights and it was a beautiful car, none the less this car has been done perfectly.
Why this video doesn't have millions of views?
Im in love with this
That a beautiful car wow
the beauty and the beast in one car ..
That color is wild! I would love to have this car.
It's the color of Prestone antifreeze.
This was so unexpected, and cool.
Beautiful car!
Wow what a beauty
We all build what we like personally that's what makes hot rodding so cool I respect others builds and like to see different ones personified to the owners likes
Amazing!
The front end looks like a 73 Cuda. The color is beautiful and really appropriate for that vintage.
What a beast. 👍🏻
That is just beautiful
When the guy says if you put your foot down on it you better be going straight because it will get away from you it sounds like it has got away from him more than once.
The Car on the Thumbnail is Very Nice Like the Color Too 😚😏
What a BEAUTY what a BEAST my compliments the color and the engine.one word! Exelend. Greetings from 🇳🇱 HOLLAND
Excellent ride.
I want to see a 68 cougar all done up like this...please
Amazing. I love it. Wow.
This gives me ideas for one of the car models of my own company.
Love that thing! ❤️
It's beautiful 🥺
I’ll take that over the new ones anyday!
Yeah, I would have a 6 speed manual insteaf of that automatic sh!t transmission though, but they sure love those automatic gearboxes in the US
@@nicolaysbunny1851 Stick or nothing, automatics is going along for the roll, not driving. My 2019 VW golf r with stick is superb!
@@cengeb oooh Golf R with manual transmission, I'm a mix between jealous and happy for you, I would love a Golf R!
@@nicolaysbunny1851 I had 2 GTI's previously always STICK, great stuff, golf r is quite a bit better than the 2wd GTI, and it has noticeable more KICK...when you look at what 4 cyl are doing now smooth, powerful, reliable, etc etc, what these things from the 60's and 70's with big gas guzzling V8's, couldn't do, cars have come a long long way BETTER. Brakes, handling, paint everything is much improved...but for Nostalgia, I guess people like em, but ..as EV's start moving more and more mainstream, this stuff will be the model t's, no one will care about em, they will be prehistoric..gonna take lot more years though
@@cengeb I drove my little brothers Tesla Model 3 Performance for over 600km over the holidays and I gotta say, that thing really impressed me! Of course it's quiet and boring because of it, at least that was my first thoughts, but it has 500hp and 4wd, and with EV torque it does 0-62mph/0-100kph in 3,4 seconds! Thats Lamborghini fast, and it feels bonkers when u floor it, even without sound! I would however prefer the sound you can get in a Porsche Taycan, you heard it? Its like a combination between a kinda deep rumble and star wars lazers, it sounds great! Never in a million years would I think I would be impressed with an EV, at least not find it exciting, but I guess we are allready in the future lol
man cars of the future is never gonna be the same :(
Awesome! 😎
The most beautiful car in the world
Magic looking car
That car is a monster
What a ride..
That is fantastic
Amazing
Flippen amazing okes!

It turned out beautiful money well spent I’m jealous and I don’t even drive. ❤😎👍

PURRRRRRRRRRRE BADASS!!
WOW!
If i ever hit the lotto im running straight to the ring bros garage and having my restomod created by them. SICK SICK SICK!!!!!
Beautiful 🥰🇺🇸🏁👍😁💪
Ho ho ho 1000hp , amazing
Brano, brawo, brawo.
This car is the perfect example of "Be careful who you call ugly in highschool"
yall are quite generous with the valuation in these videos 500k for this theres a million $ mustang
Nice that’s all I’ve got to say ...!!!!
Top de mais!!!!!😍
Nice. I had a 73 with the 401.
Muscle cars are the best
HELL YEAH!
💪🏼😤 muscle
Awesome friggin’ car go AMX……👍👍👍😎😎😎🇺🇸🇺🇸😁
That's a video game car right there
Very, Very beautiful. Showwwwwww
Only ever seen one of these ever in my life the dude still got it I think he's had it a little bit over 30 years same colour left hand drive I think the motor was a 393 or something around there
I never thought they were ugly,, just the opposite...😎 Always a Chevy Nova guy but it was abundant and easy to obtain parts.... Seriously Thumbs up....
Remember when modifying your classic was a surefire way to deplete it's resale value? I certainly received that admonishment, time and again, when I started my project..
Wow!..
If a javelin and 1st gen firebird had a love child....
I like the original car better than this modified version
CSR2 memories
One day, I’ll have one built for me just like this one, but in SUPER RED color.
was always a 74 fan but I'll take that 72
Cheese and rice! That is an awesome car!
Posted a year ago, and only 750 likes??? WTH....this car is freaking sweet!!!
I know right, this car is beautiful and what an amazing job they did. I never heard about the AMC Javelin until now but after seeing this I'm searching CL to see if I can pick one up cheap lol no luck there. Deserves way more likes for sure!
Javelin was always a sweet.ride
🔥🔥🔥
Very cool looking. Would be better with amc engine though even if power is less.
This is where a fool and his money soon part! 🤔😜
A lot more places that 500K could go BUT that car is nice
Thats the first long one i liked.
My Stepfather almost bought one while in Germany ,the broshure he brought home got my blood runnning at 13 ,it was a Gorgeous Maroon with black stripes if I remember correctly, wish he would have bought it,
I had one of these. It was amazing. I totaled it twice. Crap.
