Thanks so much for this video! It's so hard to find reviews about EVC's in anything other than a 4WD. Was thinking of trying one in my i20 coz the throttle lag makes mountain driving painful, and this video makes me confident an EVC will help.
This was a cool install / review Jarrod. Considering fuel prices are reaming everyone, it would be really interesting if you could follow up on fuel economy? Well impressed by the initial responses and how ultimate 9 setting was a clear indication these units are seemingly not a gimmick. To be fully conclusive would require an economy test. Good work!
Thanks for watching! I didn’t buy the throttle controller to save fuel lol. But on my next long trip I will try the economy mode and see if it saves me fuel. I’ll let you know.
@@JarrodWillemse haha yeah not the most exciting thing. We are getting hurt at the pump though. Cheers for your work mate, I love the CA18 stuff you did! Legend!
Good review man. I drive a courier run all day and I am so pissed off at the factory throttle control of the car I drive so I looked up what could be done. You have sold me on the EVC unit and will get one ASAP 🤣
@@JarrodWillemse You'd be fine on a beginner night. It's no pressure, not fast, nothing and no one to hit on the layout either. I drive a silver v35 & coach beginners Tues Nights. Bring it down sometime & just do a bit of a shake out and have some fun. Can take you for a few laps in mine and jump in and coach you through the night safely in yours if you wish. :)
I’m planning to once I register the civic and I have a backup car incase I also break something. I got some adjustable arms and coil overs ordered too.
Hey man, just looking to order one of these for my 2004 nissan v35, can I confirm what model number is the EVC controller you purchased and also if it would be the same compatibility. Cheers heaps man!
@@JarrodWillemse cool, thanks, definitely don't want to be stuck with it if it doesn't fit, I assume it would cause most sites that sell them say v35 and v36 🤷
@@JarrodWillemse Thanks for this review, as I was also wondering if they'd be any good for just a road car. So why now after some time would say it's not worth it for your car? Did Ultimate 9 not make much of a noticeable improvement when you undertook some "spirited" driving?
@@GeeeEm61 Hey mate it does make a noticeable difference. I'm going to get tuned now so i won't need mine anymore. Im selling my one if your interested.

No worries mate. Hopefully it delivers what you are looking for.

Thanks for watching! Yeh give it a go mate i think you will be surprised.
Did you set the unit initially to manual transmission (00) instead of auto (88)?
No does it have that option? Is it much different?
Thanks for the comparison, been looking for a cheaper way to improve responsiveness outside of getting a tune. Gonna give one of these a go.
Yeh nice hopefully works how you want!
Great video mate! Cheers for the review and install tip
No worries thanks for tuning in!
I had sprint booster & it was terrific, it works really well
Sounds good i never heard of them before.
Glad you took the leap :) May see you at Archy sometime to have some fun with it?
One day! I’m scared to bin the car!

When are we testing the performance driving? 😅
What did you want to see exactly. I thought i made some commentary about the performance aspect?

I’m pretty sure in the video on the receipt it has the part number.
@@JarrodWillemse thanks man!
Question has this cause your idle to stall when you at a stop light
No it doesn’t
Bit late too the video but I have a 2003 g coupe it’s auto will it still make a difference
People say on the auto it has the most benefit
Will the same model work for the v36? I can find a straight answer online, some people say it will but then some websites say it won't fit
I have no idea mate. If you buy one and your not happy the warranty says you can return it.

is it worth it?
After some time now probably no for the v35 other car’s probably still worth it.
@@KroninGames that’s the plan I just want to finish a few mods first.

😂😂, funnily enough I thought about putting this on my is200
Give it a go!
I had one of this throttle controller..hate it. It make the acceleration horrible. Jerky ride.
On the higher settings it is annoying
I wanted to see all settings pushed to the limit! Sorry but thumbs down 👎 4 this vi.
On my car at least the highest response setting is simply undriveable. The lowest response setting is also unsafe. It was my honest review.
