If you've ever struggled with knotted pheasant tail legs then this quick video is for you. We also offer a Bonus Tip on making the leg application more durable.
Thanks, brother! That's the same tool a cosmetologist uses in adding hair extensions to a client. It will certainly enhance my tying in the future. Tight lines.
Well, the only tips I manage to do easily enough to make Knotted Hopper legs…I saw so many on UA-cam but weren’t able to tie a dawn knot…Thanks Al! Serge
I have a number of the pheasant tails that I purchased which are already pre-made, now I know how to make my own. Great tips just in this one video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for showing me how its done. A little bit different from Barry Ord Clarkes method, but both are basically doing the same thing. This way looks a little bit easier. I will experiment with both when I get a latch needle. Aloha!🌴🎣🐟
Yes, the tool at Walmart is the same on the hook end but the one in the video has a half-hitch tool on the handle end. Either tool does a great job! Thanks for the comment.

after knotting its a fair move to wet the "lets" with some soft head cement. That holds them together, but keeps them flexible so you can tie them in.

Oh, that is really slick, Al. Much better than what I've done...that's for sure!
I bought the tool and gave this a go; it worked brilliantly. Good tip on smashing the quill to fit it into the jaws of the vise too.
Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your tying
Best way to get ths done so far!
Thanks Al!! I can now make legs for my flies!!🙂😀
Great, I'm glad you found our video helpful.
I like it Al. I'm going to have to try that with rubberlegs too.

Thanks really appreciate the tips. 🍻
This is sold as a knitting needle I understand. Should be available at Wally World.
