Around this time of year, I always looked forward to all of the Christmas specials on TV as they put me in the Christmas spirit. It is sad that they are no longer a thing.
Bette Davis there will never be another like her she was wonderful in every acting performance she's ever made with The voice of Andy Williams what more could you ask for
I was a big Christies fan, even at age 13 when this aired, although I never saw it before now. Had SUCH a crush on Barry Kane. I even had the album, Barry & Barry Here and Now (with Barry McGuire)), that came before either one was in the Christies. I think Art Podell produced it.
57:30 - Among the writers were the duo of Bill Persky & Sam Denoff. They would cross over from variety to sitcoms with "The Dick Van Dyke Show", followed by "That Girl" and several others.
Wait NBC aired this in color in 1962??? Were there even many color sets available in 1962? There were of course but I just thought all variety shows still did Black and White
Boy do I miss these fabulous shows….the sixties and early seventies had the best variety shows.

Thank you so much for posting this. The 1962 holiday special is very hard to find.
Imagine having the New Christy Minstrels and Andy Williams for Christmas!!
I loved the Andy Williams & King Family Holiday Specials!
Never thought I'd see Bette Davis in a Hootenanny. What different times those were. Miss them.

Those Osmond brothers could sure harmonize wow!!!!!
I remember them and Andy's shows especially his Christmas ones.♥️♥️♥️ I was six in 62 but remember them. Miss those shows.
Note that none of the commercials are in color since this was broadcast in 1962 and not many homes had color yet.

Wonder what Joan Crawford thought about Bette Davis singing Baby Jane?
Wait--isn't the "Polynesian" guy in the New Christy Minstrels here the same guy in The Association a few years later?
You got it! (Larry Ramos)
I wonder if Fran Allison gave One-A-Day vitamins to Kukla and Ollie...

Hi Sam, I hope that you are doing well also.
Before we lost JFK and life became scary
