Put an Alegree Old Timer Fat Boy (Alnico 2) HB size P90 in my Squire Sonic Mustang neck (had to file the pickguard to square it off). Lovely warm airy tone. Coupled with a Vanson 57 Alnico 2 PAF in bridge (vintage, nasal tone) and most bases are covered when trying to learn riffs on UA-cam. Both small UK sellers and both great value.
I liked the stock pick-ups tbh. I feel the the lightning bolts just dampened the high end and took away too much bite. I would rather have control over that with an EQ or something. Looks like I'm going to be getting a sick cheap af Harley Benton soon!
Definitely better sounding pickups. A really good price on the pickups also. Nice upgrade for not alot of money. I thought the new pickups sounded great.🎸🤘🏻
It's definitely worth the money. I can't think of anything else really that'll get you that active pickup experience for any less. Jet Guitars make a version of this guitar, I think it comes with better active pickups than the stock HB as standard, it's about £65 more than buying the HB and the 'Lightning Bolts' separately.
I have the Jet guitar literally waiting for me at the post office but I don’t think I’ll be able to get it until Tuesday. I’ll try my best to get a video out about the Jet version next week 😊
I replaced the stock P90 in my Gibson LP jr with an Alegree and it made all the difference in the world. Incredible bang-for-buck pickups.
Yeah? Their P90s are 100% on the list of pickups I want to try, glad to hear you were happy with them! 😊🎸🤘 Thank you for the comment!

It's so much guitar for the money. And of course the pickups are totally subjective, glad you're happy with the stock ones! Thank you for the comment!
Interesting pick ups. Nice price. Great demo 🤘
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! 🤘🎸

Yeah, I thought they were well worth it. Thanks for the comment! 😊🤘
Agreed. Sounds better this way!
I think so :) Thanks for the comment!!
Cool mod yo! Sounds killer
Hey man! Thanks :) Nice to hear from you!
Would it still be worth getting the Jet JS400 if you own this one?
I am considering getting the Jet, the Harley is still my favourite guitar at home.
The new ones definitely sound better, would you say that this is the best thing to do if someone wants to try an active pickup guitar?

@@JakeLeighGuitar Is the quality of the Jet guitar itself any better than the Harley Benton? or is it about the same do you think?

@@JakeLeighGuitar looking forward to it
if anything this just proves stocks holding its weight.
No difference whatsoever, just like with most pickups of the same type.
