This is a cover song, originally done by Motorhead. No, war does not make sense. Other Sabaton songs I recommend - Soldier Of Heaven (Official Music Video), No Bullets Fly (Animated Story Video), Lady of the Dark (Animated Story Video)
I guess you could have picked a better song to "just chill and relax..." Famous last words... 😉 But I am glad you picked it anyway and I thank you for your honest and heartfelt reaction. Sabaton is doing an incredible job at telling stories that have to be told and I am glad that so many reactors do an incredible job in spreading the word and maybe reach people who otherwise wouldn't notice Sabaton and their important stories at all. So thank you again. "Lest we forget" Greetings from Germany, Prog O'Holic
I agree and if reactor watch this and didn’t shed a tear or understand, they weren’t really reacting, because no normal person could watch that without feeling the way that I felt if they are human. It’s not exactly the relaxing pick me up song, but it definitely reminds me of the fact that I should enjoy the freedom to be able to visit my child because of someone else’s sacrifice, even if it wasn’t this particular war in general. ❤️🎶🤘🏻

Thanks for the reaction! Here's a little tidbit illustrating Sabaton's level of historical references: There's a beautiful early 20th century ecru-coloured convertible standing in the street and everybody flows around it. This car is closest thing there is to the pale horse that death rode in on. It's the car Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wive Sophie Chotek Duchess Hohenberg bled to death in on June 28th of 1914 in Sarajevo right in the sunshine of "Europe's Last Summer", the event that led to the "War to end all Wars", the Apocalypse of the Old World and the first act of the unprecedented bloodshed of the 20th century. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
World War 1, a war fought by empires using Napoleonic tactics with modernized weaponry, part of the reason why the numbers in those battles were just so very high. As people have stated, this is a cover of a Motörhead song. The bus at the start is a reference to the live album no sleep til Hammersmith by Motörhead The two guys standing in the door opening at 6:12 are Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell, the drummer and the guitarist of Motörhead. The picture is of Lemmy Kilmister, who was the bassist and singer of Motörhead. The guy holding it is Eddie Rocha who was the tour manager of Motörhead and the current one for Sabaton.
Sabaton's lyrics reach you even deeper. They are an epic band. I don't know if he has reacted to his Christmas Truce song Based on a real event that occurred in the First World War. I did some researching and found that all the names of the soldiers, knights and Spartans in the end were real people. Many of the soldiers were Medal of Honor, Silver Star, Victoria Cross or Croix de Guerre recipients. The soldier pulling himself out of the mud, at first I thought he was a member of "The Smoking Snakes" (Força Expedicionária Brasileira, FEB, nicknamed Cobras Fumantes), but doing some more research with the patch on his shoulder as well as his helmet, that's Sgt Henry Johnson of the 15th New York National Guard Regiment, aka "The Harlem Hellfighters". Medal of Honor recipient and recipient of French Croix de Guerre avec Palme, France's highest award for valor. The Medal of Honor was awarded to him in 2015. Sgt. Henry Johnson is "one of the five bravest American soldiers in the war." Theodore Roosevelt Jr. in his book "Rank and File: True Stories of the Great War" The Asian soldier with the cocked-hat, that's a Nepalese Gurka named Havildar Gurung (per the credits) who earn the Victoria Cross in the Burma campaign off WWII. Sgt Awal Nur, who did a secret mission over the Himalaya. Lt. Audie Murphy, Sgt. Alvin York are both medal of honor recipients from WWI (York) and WWII (Murphy). I also notice a soldier with the Croix Lorraine on what looks like a French flag arm band, meaning he was a member of the 'Forces françaises libres' forces in WWII. Doing some reading I found out that a large number of French colonial troops from territories such as Chad had joined with the 'Forces françaises libres'. I suspect that soldier is Lt Comba, but I can't find anything on him. As I've been working my way through the names listed in the credits and found another one: Private George Stringer, Manchester, Awarded the Victoria Cross at the Battle of Es Sinn in Mesopotamia. Capt. Dobson, 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion, Killed on 9 July 1916 in Flanders.
Wow much respect to those men and I thank Sabaton for making it into Music to get the word out because it makes learning about history a lot easier for people that aren’t history buffs. ❤️🎶🤘🏻
@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing Some of their songs are sad, like this one. Others, like "No Bullets Fly", "The Last Battle" and "Hearts of Iron" affirm your faith in humanity. Others still, like "40-1", or "Defense of Moscow" fill you with national pride for other countries.
Unfortunatly... this is what men do... if there is a war, we will go in front... die or kill.... we will do what we can do defend our country and the people we love.... The men in both ww1 and ww2 where some of the best of us, and deserve our highest respect....
War makes no sense, and this one made less sense than most. I bring this up every time...in the words of my high-school history teacher, this war started because "someone nobody had ever heard of killed someone nobody liked over a piece of land nobody wanted."
@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing It should be noted that this is NOT originally a Sabaton song. Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead wrote and recorded it first, which is why you see the Motorhead flag flying in the parade, and the remaining members of that band carrying Lemmy's picture. Considering how hard & heavy Motorhead was known for playing, you should listen to their version. It's a swift kick in the feels. You are then told to go over the top and charge the enemy while they shoot at you with almost no cover or anything to protect you. If you refuse you will likely be shot on the spot for cowardice/desertion. Think about that next time you wanna complain your amazon order is late.
I looked at the music videos you've reacted to and discovered that you haven't listened to Sabaton's guitarist Tommy Johansson's cover, which you just have to listen to. Because he makes these into his own rockier versions and elevates the songs. A little about Tommy: Tommy "ReinXeed" Johansson, born October 26, 1987 in Boden, is a Swedish multi-instrumentalist, singer and music producer, best known for his work in the bands Sabaton and Majestica. Participated in Rhapsody in rock at Dalhalla together with Robert Wells, among others, July 2023. So in Tommy's cover video, it's just him and he plays all the instruments including drums, as well as computer and camera. All are recorded at his home. So the first song I think you should listen to is: SHE'S GONE - STEELHEART (Cover by Tommy Johansson)ua-cam.com/video/CC0EJpUq-Os/v-deo.html YOU RAISE ME UP (1 OCTAVE CHALLENGE) - TOMMY JOHANSSON ua-cam.com/video/zoGJ7mxNq0M/v-deo.html THE POWER OF LOVE (Celine Dion/Jennifer Rush) - Cover by Tommy Johansson ua-cam.com/video/yGLuPiqHAR0/v-deo.html SARÀ PERCHÉ TI AMO (Metal version) - Tommy Johansson ua-cam.com/video/QG2ETO2ML10/v-deo.html I promise you will like Tommy's Version of the songs and not be shocked by the voice he has and the breadth of his singing voice.

Sgt. Henry Johnson is "one of the five bravest American soldiers in the war."
Theodore Roosevelt Jr. in his book "Rank and File: True Stories of the Great War"
The Asian soldier with the cocked-hat, that's a Nepalese Gurka named Havildar Gurung (per the credits) who earn the Victoria Cross in the Burma campaign off WWII.
@@gryphonosiris2577 they are on the list 🎶🤘🏻❤️
Unfortunatly... this is what men do... if there is a war, we will go in front... die or kill.... we will do what we can do defend our country and the people we love.... The men in both ww1 and ww2 where some of the best of us, and deserve our highest respect....
I agree just sad that is the way it has to be but I have the highest respect for our military ❤️
@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing Men is and always will be willing to lay down their lives for the people they love.... thats just a fact...
@@CoCooMa11 true, men are the protectors of the family ❤️
@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing most of us DO try you know :(
@@CoCooMa11 I meant true as I’m agreeing with you that men do protect us
War makes no sense, and this one made less sense than most. I bring this up every time...in the words of my high-school history teacher, this war started because "someone nobody had ever heard of killed someone nobody liked over a piece of land nobody wanted."
I mean to me there just has to be a better way 😢 but I’m glad the band does this to make people remember 🤘🏻🎶❤️
Still, Sabaton more than did it justice, especially with Tina Guo's cello playing during the history lesson.
Sabaton don't take sides when they present these tidbits of history. They simply stick to the facts.
@@n5iln I did see their flag, and did see the credits where Motörhead members were present during the recording of the music video. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to the first version. I’ll have to listen now 🤔
if you want to be impressed by the story you should do white death history version, 40:1 (live woodstock 2012) and the unkillable soldier official music video
if you want to be impressed by sabaton you should do bismarck official music video or soldier of heaven official music video
if you want an amazing story with a beautiful song you should do no bullets fly official animated story video
if you want overall amazing music you should do anything from sabaton
if you want emotions you should do the cliffs of gallipoli (live woodstock poland 2012, the price of a mile (official lyric video or live wacken 2019 or live woodstock poland 2012, christmas truce (official music video) or the hammer has fallen (fan made lyric or music video) it is also very underrated
Thank you for the suggestions I will add them to the list. 🤘🏻🎶❤️
Life was cheap back then especially for the generals.
I want you to imagine you're a scared shitless 16 year old who has lied about his age and is now in the trench.
So the first song I think you should listen to is: SHE'S GONE - STEELHEART (Cover by Tommy Johansson)ua-cam.com/video/CC0EJpUq-Os/v-deo.html
YOU RAISE ME UP (1 OCTAVE CHALLENGE) - TOMMY JOHANSSON ua-cam.com/video/zoGJ7mxNq0M/v-deo.html
THE POWER OF LOVE (Celine Dion/Jennifer Rush) - Cover by Tommy Johansson
ua-cam.com/video/yGLuPiqHAR0/v-deo.html
SARÀ PERCHÉ TI AMO (Metal version) - Tommy Johansson
ua-cam.com/video/QG2ETO2ML10/v-deo.html
I promise you will like Tommy's Version of the songs and not be shocked by the voice he has and the breadth of his singing voice.
I will add it to the list. Thank you for the suggestions. I appreciate it. ❤️🎶🤘🏻
@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing It was nothing.
Tommy Johansson did during December 2022, 24 covers of Christmas songs one for each day and in one of them he imitated the voice of various celebrities including Mariah Carey
@@ingvartorma9789 wow 😯
And women shamed men not in uniform with the white feather of cowardice. I mean these boys where 16 years old, and they wanted to go to war and fight.
I don’t even know what to say to that 😞
All because a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich
Wow 😯 that’s crazy 😢 I was trying to read everything, don’t know if I missed that but that is sad 😞
Please react to Five Finger Death Punch - "Wrong Side of Heaven" the official video.
I have actually seen this video many of times I have much respect for five finger. Death Punch and I have seen them live. They’re an amazing band. I normally don’t do reactions to videos I’ve already seen because it’s really not a first time reaction but if you would like me to do it, I will out of respect for our military 🎶❤️🥺
Thank you for your reply. I will leave it entirely up to you as this is a reaction channel and not new to you. May I suggest No Bullets Fly or Christmas Truce by Sabaton.
I am enjoying your reactions.
@@redguern they are on my list but since you asked I will do it because no matter how many times I listen to it still the same reaction 🥺
😊
Note the planes flying over near the end reference to two other of their songs Night witches and no bullets fly 😊
I LOVE Easter eggs to another songs 😯🎶❤️🤘🏻
Is that a fact, or is it just something that you believe?
@@treintje1001 I like when movies or music videos do what we call an Easter egg with technically is a teaser to connect the next video or movie that’s gonna come after. Is there something wrong with that?
@@treintje1001 “easter eggs” is what we call it in my house but I guess technically it would be called a teaser… but I do like when music videos or movies put things in there that link together the next video or movie to come. There is another artist I listen to that does that a lot and if you don’t follow his music from the beginning to the end, sometimes you won’t understand what’s going on which I find interesting.
The Bomber that flys over is not the B17 from No bullets fly it's the British Bomber Avro Lancaster
