This video always stuck in my mind, such a clever way to visualize insane amounts of money, I've shared this video multiple times in the past. Rest in piece Reckful, you will be missed.

Yeah, I've shown this video to a bunch of friends that thought a billionaire was just a slightly more successful version of a millionaire, they go "holy shit now I understand". It's difficult to explain, Reckful explained and visualised it so perfectly that I come back to this video regularly and always will, even after his sad passing.
      I hope he's resting well.

@@Zandohaha if everyone truly internalized this and understood how much a billion $ is, I don't think billionaire worship we constantly see in the US would be as prevalent as it currently is. Watch this video and now think of the richest human having $211 billion... it's insane.

@TheKingraptor724 I don't know if you're young or just a little bit delusional, but it most certainly is fucking hard to get a stable job that will earn $125-250k per year. That's why the average earnings per person in most countries is way less than $100k USD, earning even $125k between 2 people in a household would put you in the top 20% pretty much anywhere in the world. Making 2 million also isn't the same as having 2 million, it costs a lot of money to live for 8 years.

My dad once did this presentation on a million and billion. If you take a standard sheet of paper, set the font to like 3-4, and put 100 periods on a line, then make 100 lines, you have 10,000 periods, which fills up a sheet of paper. To get to a million, you need 100 sheets of paper, which is about a half inch tall stack of paper, and would cover the entire floor of most homes' living room. A BILLION would be a stack of paper 42 FEET tall with 10,000 dots on EACH page. That is insane. We truly have no concept of a billion.

Roger dodger 5 9. The Warcraft Movie with dual glaives in dalaran sewers during Wrath. The fun hearthstone matches like the alarmabot with crazy legendary RNG and you yelled Charizard!! when opening packs. Those were priceless days along with times when you were with Soda making insane vape clouds in the Japanese smoking box and made them all leave. Core memory. If you were still here as of now you'd be dominating since there are only a handful of amazing rogues on classic or classic hardcore. Luckily you missed out on Covid and didn't have to go through the 'toilet paper outage incident' you haven't missed much but your legacy lives on. Although you won't ever get the chance to see this just know that I grew up in my teens with your stream along with Soda and mitchie and the jokes, memes, banter cured my depression.

This is a perfect example of why vast inequality is absurd. It's economically imprudent (as Piketty, Saez, and others have demonstrated) and it's simply a moral failing. That we, for example in the United States, allow nearly 40% of Americans to live 'at or near poverty' is ridiculous. And, with one of the highest inequalities of any developed nation in which politicians and corporations control the legislative branch, have distinct advantages in the judicial branch, and can essentially buy-n-sell politicians because of rulings like Citizens United - we've lost any real hope of change with revolt. OWS was a good exemplar of that futility. And, make no mistake, it's both parties who contribute to this. So as fools rant 'right vs left' the real power is content to watch us fight for scraps. The only thing exceptional about American 'exceptionalism' is how we condone absurd inequality for no real reason barring meme, rhetoric, and indoctrination to the nonsense this is the greatest country on earth. What a joke.

As long as you have enough to sustain yourself and be happy, that is really all you need. Once you get accustomed for having 1 billion dollars, you will then feel the exact same way as you did with way less. Now you can't put a price tag on experiences since those will last forever, things you buy don't. That is why it's ok to spend your money on travels.

Man. This is one of the best videos I've seen demonstrating how insane an amount a billion dollars is. If I had even $1M, I could live a similar lifestyle to what I do now with just 4% yearly interest.
