the most important band in the last 25 year's in terms of original ideas and writing for themselves instead of music execs. in a world where artists are succumbing to depression and mumble rappers grabbing attention we can still have hope of a few more masterpieces from these guys!
Amazing song and a perfect closer to In Rainbows. I think of it as a companion piece to “Reckoner” in that it’s about the transition from life to death. Thom’s solo version is even better in my opinion
I was locked up in an involuntary psychiatric stay for a suicide attempt in 2007. The version where Thom plays solo in the basement literally sparked an epiphany that saved my life.
some time ago, I did like this song but as a musician the drums kinda were off for me, until I see "the secret rhythm behind Radioheads videotape" that blew me away, it really changes everything, hope you check it some day
As English is not my mothertongue, I always consentrate on the music. I usually listen to a song until I have devoured it properly. Sometimes I then take the lyrics and I actually start a new journey to that song, it opens again and in a whole different way.
Great idea. They don't have it from the basement as it is off the newest album so I suggest reacting to the music video that was uploaded by Radiohead. Look forward to it.
Me too buddy. The first time I heard the song I had a tear in my eye it was that beautiful ;) And I think nobody can deny the album version is the ultimate version of this song, it's perfection! Live versions have some really amazing intros though and Thom always mixes it up a little for each performance.
I've only broken down and cried over my mother's death twice. Once over a bottle of tequila with my brother. The second time alone in a dark room listening to this song
It's irritates me how people say it's 'depressing' music. It's a shame that emotions evoked through such beautiful art should be thought of as depressing. Stick to sellout pop shite instead & leave the sophisticated stuff to the grownups.
I hope you will tell us when you finally sit down and just listen to In Rainbows (studio) start to finish. It is an astonishing piece of work. As is A Moon Shaped Pool (which includes Daydreaming)
They are quite brilliant. They paint the clearest pictures. They use the purest colours. There is no one else around like them. I am glad you are digging in and enjoying. Keep it up DC!
This is why I love youtube.. I get 2 experience falling in love with my fav band through you all over again.. dear dccookster ( I'd luv 2 knw ur real name btw).. you are a natural at this.. your reactions are completely authentic.. I'm excited 4 u 2 experience and discover more in your musical journey 4wards.. ❤ from India..😊
This is one of their most impactful songs, purely down to the, as yuo said, emotional aspect which hits you deep. If you're looking for another radiohead IMPACTFUL song, then I would give 'motion picture soundtrack' or 'daydreaming' a tackle. Both incredible respectively
Beautiful track. ..the most depressing songs can be the best and Radiohead do it very well. .. mind you they have a bit to catch up to the master of depressing songs with a touch of irony .... Morrissey. ....very good emotional reaction.
You should check out the Bonnaroo 2006 version of Videotape. It's the version they played before recording the album version and it's such a great version, many even say it's better than what is on the album.
Should also check out the solo Thom Yorke from the basement version of this song! Many consider it the best one! A bit simpler, but more emotional in my opinion. ua-cam.com/video/6jZYLrelNrM/v-deo.html
Yes. My favorite live from the basement song is Bloom. Suggested him to react to it. Let's see if he does it. You can also listen to Bloom from the Best kept secret festival. It's epic.
Brilliant, both song and reaction. You should check out Analyse, one of Thom Yorke's solo tracks. The live version from the basement or the mercury prize performance
Amazing, if it’s possible seeing a full album reaction would be incredible!! Kid A would be amazing. But if you’re going to do just tracks try out “daydreaming”!! Just like videotape, it will bring you into another state, go in without knowing the context of the song until after you watch the music video. It brought me to tears on the first listen and changed me just like videotape. Thanks for the great reaction.
It's deceptive how complex this song actually is. "The Secret Rhythm Behind Radiohead's 'Videotape'" - medium.com/warrenmusic/the-secret-rhythm-behind-radioheads-videotape-vox-pop-earworm-premiere-dee948d03a92

Absolutely. When all's said and done they will be up there with The Beatles in terms of sheer quality and variety in rock/popular music.
Instablaster.
Such an emotional song.. You should also react to 'Motion Picture Soundtrack' by Radiohead. Very emotional too
Exit Music From A Film too. Awesome.
Motion Picture tears me up every time. Probably my favorite song of theirs when it comes to sheer beauty and emotion
@@TeddymanYT Ever seen the film I Origins? It's in that, awesome film and the song packs a hell of a punch.
@@BongEyedBastard haven seen it yet no, but want to do so. I also loved the string version in Westworld, some amazing Radiohead covers in that show.
Great reaction. Please do 'Lotus Flower'. Preferably the black and white video of Thom free styling.
Amazing song and a perfect closer to In Rainbows. I think of it as a companion piece to “Reckoner” in that it’s about the transition from life to death. Thom’s solo version is even better in my opinion
oh DC TY for only reacting to the pretty girls on comments section! it's what I would have done also 😊
Perfect
React to The Daily Mail, pleaaaaaaaaase
Keep doing Radiohead please!

Also you will find Radiohead songs grow with multiple listens

After the basement reactions react to Karma Police
Now you just have to listen to all their discography man hahah
im still waiting for daydreaming react!!
I can do that one next
Great idea. They don't have it from the basement as it is off the newest album so I suggest reacting to the music video that was uploaded by Radiohead. Look forward to it.
DCcookster Reacts I think you will enjoy it. Very impressive music video by Paul Thomas Anderson. I love your Radiohead reactions!

Make sure you check out the music video DCcookster. It's such a good video.
You NEED an upbeat song now! 'there, there' please please please! Thanks for everything you do :)
Yep underrated song from them
Ed's guitar adds so much to this song, ethereal and gorgeous. And the beat is so hypnotic. An incredible song from top to bottom.
I get if they wanted something more rhythmic for the record, but... wow, Ed's flourishes make this the best version.
I've only broken down and cried over my mother's death twice. Once over a bottle of tequila with my brother. The second time alone in a dark room listening to this song
react to Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place :v

Was there ever a song where vocal timing was more important? Amazing and difficult song to sing I'd imagine but thoms just a master at it.
They are quite brilliant. They paint the clearest pictures. They use the purest colours. There is no one else around like them. I am glad you are digging in and enjoying. Keep it up DC!
Love seeing the reactions in your expressions together with the music. What it is to be human.

RADIOHEAD BODYSNATCHERS FROM THE BASEMENT
Keep doing Radiohead pleass
The song is double the tempo that it sounds, and it starts on the upbeat. So odd, but beautiful.
Like how the wu tang clan rapped off beat in that first album.
Beautiful track. ..the most depressing songs can be the best and Radiohead do it very well. .. mind you they have a bit to catch up to the master of depressing songs with a touch of irony .... Morrissey. ....very good emotional reaction.
Please do last flowers to the hospital by radio head

Door to the River by Manic Street Preachers reaction please !!
I absolutely adore this song! It's so underrated/unknown!
did you know the piano falls
on the up beat? Cool syncopation!
Just came across this video, much love to you for this. I feel connected to anyone that feels this song and this band as deeply as we do.
Unbearably beautiful song.
Such a hypnotising track!
Another epic song. Try Bloom now.
Live in the basement version is insanely good

Okay, that was epic
Don't know what to say.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
En serio nunca has escuchado estos temas? Yo creo que si jaja
Probably my least favourite song from my favourite Radiohead album.
Try Reckoner.
