- The new atom shop fireplace has some unique properties, so it's time to upgrade your property today with some real tomfoolery. I am going to show some new blueprints, explain how they work, and show you some tricks you can use to free-place walls if you don't have the catwalks or vines, or are new to camp building!

When Mister Church enter from the top of the chimney and slid down and then clicked on the chair to get out, I figured what a cool entry way into a basement below the earth if that would actually work.

I'm putting a stone wall in my build now, I love the look! I like that the little burning log is a snappable feature, the merge possibilities are endless.
When I saw that fire I also was thinking of the merge possibilities. Judging by the chessboard allowing junk (one example), it seems the devs are specifically making items for merges in mind.

I can't wait for Christmas now, I missed out last year because Santa got stuck in the immense block of chimney and despawned, so now they've had to find a replacement. 😂
Yeah I had a similar issue, and they wouldn’t refund my presents even though they despawned with him

Wonder what Bethesda's stance is on these free placing walls/doors...I remember kikib (on YT) had discovered a trick using conduits to get a free placing door only for Bethesda to patch it within 3 days of her sharing it. However it seems they let these other methods like the one with the mat and vine/wall blueprint slide...or maybe due to the mechanics they can't patch certain ones? Anyways hope this stays because i've been using that mat/wall blueprint for a while now and it's been very helpful. Thanks again for sharing your tricks! You are the GOAT!
EDIT - After thinking about it, kikib's trick (before it was patched) allowed you to put a door anywhere without putting a doorway down...maybe this was why it was patched. mr church do you know of a way of putting down a door anywhere without having to put the doorway in first? I dont think there is but thought I'd ask.
Thank you! I don’t think they mind what they tend to call “community led build techniques”, and when they patch them out, it’s almost always bc they have no idea about them and are targeting something unrelated that isn’t working “as intended.”
Edit to answer your edit 😂 I was wondering if you were talking about that. That was an unintended result of them attempting to “fix” floating items like filing cabinets - and in the meantime ruined how doors and foundations interacted. You could move doors around but at the cost of a bunch of other stuff. I was glad they fixed that one lol. They used to have a door that you could place anywhere, but they “fixed” that one. I’ve been really hoping they give us something like that again so we can actually use the preexisting structures they let us build in
@@misterchurch666 Ah I knew there was something I was missing, thanks for clarifying! Yeah when Kiki B showed that trick I used it to put a door into the BOS porch doorway...the set came with no doors so the only way to get a door in there was with Kikib's trick. I ended up removing it to redecorate only to find out they patched it and wasn't able to get it back in...doh! Agreed, hope they allow it again..Cheers bud!

Has the glitch been patched?
I tried charging the doorframe to a regular flat wall but it won’t let me switch it out after placement
Is there a way to place this bad boy in the intersection between two walls instead of in the middle? I have tried destroying the walls but the border is the part where collision remains so that doesn't work
If you have the abandoned mine set, I would try snapping a piece down into two of the funky walls while broken
The chimney will also snap to the fire, when the fire is placed first, but not if fire is over join in two foundations

As a note, the Old Glory fire CAN fit into the fireplace in the Iron Mountain Anvil prefab. It doesn't snap, and it can be tricky to make it sit right without sinking, but I got it to work last night.

Hey Mister Church, does this fireplace freeplace wall concept also work with the lodge fireplace currently in the atom shop? New player here so I don't have access to all the other cool bits to make freeplace stuff
Only the old glory works like that, but all the other fireplaces in the game will let you just place them down on the ground - they just don’t snap into the walls

I wonder if this could be utilized, as an entrance to an underground C.A.M.P.???
I can't get the logs to snap in at all, I had to place one down, then place another on top and delete the bottom one.
Any idea if what could be causing it not to snap in?
They have a toggle snapping option, on PS it’s square. Idk what the button is on the other platforms. Make sure that’s turned on! Otherwise idk what could be causing that

Is it possible to standalone-place the tip chimney piece?
Yes, but you need to be able to place the other piece below it - it will float so as long as you can get a piece under it so you can snap it, you can remove the bottom leaving the top piece alone
@@misterchurch666 but do you think it would be possible to free place that tip piece flat onto a foundation floor? I was thinking that it wouldnt work since the tip piece wouldnt have "snap support" while trying to place down the blueprint
11:49 Probably the same people who keep saying the "rug glitch" has been patched in Fallout 4 even though it's still working 9 years later.

I wish they would take some time to address the building interface. Years of devs putting things in whatever category they're in the mood for today has made this thing awful.

I really hate that they have to snap to a doorway. I have a wall 2 foundations wide and I cannot find a way to have it with the other walls for the life of me.

Can't get the old glory fireplace to snap to double walls
It's amazing how bad Bethesda is at selling thier products. I would have never gotten this had I not seen your video and saw that it snaps through walls, and the top smokes. That later bit alone will save me a bunch of camp budget as I currently have a few fires and stash boxes atop my chimney trying to emulate that. Also I would love it if they'd make the fireplaces have an always on feature. I hate having to click it on everytime I visit my camp.
This fireplace log is always on I believe, also I agree. The promo pics they take for the atom shop are laughable sometimes

Okay I swapped out fireplaces. Wasnt too bad. I ended up sinking a chessboard display into the logs and put a cultist mask in the fire. Kinda looks like a skull. Not a lot of craftable headwear is displayable. Kinda lame... but it looks okay. Other items that looked neat were cooking pots and deathclaw mask.
