- For a long time K-700 was only vehicle in K series but not anymore, With new American Wilds DLC of Spintires Mudrunner we now have K-8400 Skidder which can compete with K-700. Let the battle begins not only for vehicles but also their drivers Bob and uncle Sam.

I always made the K-700 my “tow truck” because it was the best for getting all my other trucks unstuck without getting it self stuck

One detail i love in this game is that all the vehicles have completely different feeling steering when you play with a wheel like a Logitech G27.
All the K-class vehicles have very light steering, since they have an articulating body and hydraulic steering, and you don't feel the bumps on the road at all.
In other vehicles it feels like a regular IRL car, you can feel exactly whats happening below your front tires.
K-700 is, actually, K-8400's great grandfather. The K-8400 is a Romanian TAF model from 2012, so, like most Romanian trucks, it is mostly based on ex-Soviet vehicles. Nice video!

At least when using the Skidder, I won't go deaf, unlike with the K-700.......Gotta remove those Headphones.....I also wish you could use the selected attachment while driving! Only when stopped is effing annoying, esp with Blades and such

Considering they're both loaders, you forgot the most important test of all: loading a log cart.
I use the K-8400 for saving my trucks from mud when they get stuck, can’t count the amount of times I’ve had to pull the Wester star out of mud already
I'm surprised that they are so closely matched. One thing though the k700's articulation joint can not only go sideways to steer but it also swivels around the longitudinal axis (so the tractor can twist) meanwhile the skidder's joint can only go sideways.

Skidder is much better, as it is actually usefull during the scavange game mode. I used it to bring all od the wood from the scavange sited to the asphalt road on both of the American maps, with the K700 you just can't drag the wood the same way you can with the skidder, as the loader is well... A loader, not a skidder. K700 on the other hand is better at loading vehicles, as it can reach highier, but for loading up the vehicle you have the crane. That's why combination of the Freightliner and the skidder was the best combination for me, as you drag the wood using the skidder and then load up whatever logs you need using the freightliner's crane. For russian maps, I just stick with the Western Star,as it can still go off-road quite decently and it has the loader crane.

Ai Torror in real life the k700 is just more reliable than anything. skidder maybe in the game but in real life the kirowez. i drove one in my old days and i can tell u, this beast is harder to beat than the toyota hilux in that top gear episode xD

I'd say the Kirovets wins simply because it can raise its loader higher so i can load wood without needing the other vehicle to use a crane. Also since it raises the logs higher up than the Skidder and dosen't drag the which the Skidder does which in turn increases the chanses of it losing logs. A little bonus for K-700 is that (as you said in the video) can lift cars better and higher which in turn means it can cross dangerous water currents without having the vehicle take any form of water damage.

Hmm. The Kirovets is better in tight spaces, the deepest water, and has a higher top speed. Better for getting somewhere quickly, wading and especially tricky rescue missions.
The Skidder's lower, wider overall shape will make it more stable, and it seems to have more torque, allowing it more consistent speed. Good for towing (trucks or trailers), deep mud and steep slopes.
I usually use K-700 because his crane can go up higher than Skidder's one, so less painful trailer loading

That not really a batlle you compare a skidder a logging machine to a tractor normaly usefull on all terrain a skidder is better on forest ground he cant drive on the road he just for logging the two machine are very good but very different

I like both of them for how they preform but I don’t like how they’re also the loudest vehicles in game. Full throttle with headphones on is guaranteed to give someone a headache
the Kirovets is better, calculating that it has only 215 HP its performances are excellent and then, the Kirevets K-700 is a vehicle of 1962, it was OP at those times
Do u know what means 215hp for a tractor, is huge m8, it got somethin like 600-700Nm as the proper power of the tractor!
i thin we can settle this easy, what are they used for and how do they preform? the skidder is pulling logs and doing it well while the k-700 is taking them vertically making it unnable to go in most places cuz it makes it so damn wide, i guess the k-700 is only used for loading? but tbh the k-700 is kinda pointless, i never had any use of it exept for completing bulge

I feel American trailers are heavier than Russians. And I found they can exchange trailers, American trucks can attach existing Russian trailers on map, Russian trucks can attach existing American trailers on map, but semi-trailers can't.
I hate to say it but I gotta agree with everyone else that the K-700 is the winner. I feel that most the vehicles in the American wilds dlc dont really have much traction, and the 8400 doesn't really have much torque, alteast with my experience. Kinda wish they gave the American wilds dlc a little more traction and torque, because so far I'm thinking that the Russian trucks are better all round, though it could be because these American vehicles are made for roads( specifically the small pickups, and the Chevrolet, Ford, and freightliner semis) while the other vehicles are meant for logging in the forests where there is mud, but not to the extreme like in this game. While the Russian vehicles are made to go anywhere, anytime. Great video as always SDL1one!!
I feel sad to see a majority of on highway trucks in this DLC; especially considering how many 6x6 off-road use semi's Kenworth, Mack, Peterbilt etc, made back in the 50's onwards. I see where the devs are coming from considering that most of our logging is done by skidding to a landing and being hauled straight from the landing to the mill with the same on-road truck/s.
@@2boredfortv That is very true but man I wish we had some old Hayes logging trucks!!! Or a few Mack's and Peterbilts. Amazing vehicles! I think the Hayes logging trucks are the only real ones that could really kick the butts of the russian vehicles!

Personally, I like K8400, for the simple fact that it's one of, if not the best recovery vehicle in the game. The reason being, is that if you have another vehicle stuck in let's say a river, you get the K8400 with it's plow facing to he wrecked vehicle, get some distance and put the plow all the way down till it lifts up your front tires, put on your parking brake, and winch the other vehicle, the K8400 will NOT even slide, but simply just pull the other vehicles out with ease. Now I can't say it'll pull the E7310 or D535, but it can easily pull things like the K700 and other vehicles without a problem.
( The example is very specific because I had to pull a friend out with the K8400 after he sunk a K700 and C260 in a river. It took almost about a half hour of trial and error, untill I tried using the plow to stabilize, and hold the K8400 in place, and it then only took seconds to pull both his vehicles out.)
I've ran skidder for years. Everything has its place and not every place is perfect. But regardless of the ground or condition, I know that in real world the skidder will at least always out log the k-700
The skidder also has the front blade that negates damage when crashing into objects. Push blade negates most damage from hard front end impacts. (A full speed crash with the blade is between 10-30 damage while without it, it is 600 damage which totals it.)
Can it also be used to shift rocks in the path?
please explain how to load medium or long logs with the skidder..... it takes me foreever. Verry easy with kirovets. Transporting logs with kirovets they tend to slide out, i had better success with skidder there.... so for bringing em to a road i found skidder better.

This tractor was in the river on the roof and nothing, wygal the steep slope of the river strewn with slippery gravel and drove on.

Kirovets K700 RULES! K700 is for real men like Bob who know what the job at hand is, whereas the K8400 is a girly machine for drivers like fungus-face Uncle Sam (ha! He's not MY Uncle) who are more interested in keeping themselves comfortable rather than getting the job done. :P :P :P
Trucks with the new dlc they could not be better because everyone would forget about the old ones

Idk if you already did it but out the western star again one of the russian models of the same size. Itd be a close interesting battle
If your gonna judge this closely you should keep the throttle going the whole time with the skidder, just like you did with the k700. Dont let up.

I think the K700 won because, although it doesn't perform as well in mud as the Skidder, it can handle offroad terrain quite well. Also it has does have suspension flex, because the articulation joint twists.

I think winner is Skidder but k-700 can tow any truck anywhere. But Skidder is more useful in forests and in mountains.

K-700 is as stated, more suitable with lifting logs and vehicles from designated pick-up points, while the Skidder looks to be better suited for picking up spilled logs and the scavenge mode. I can't quite tell but I think it also lacks the cricket noises the K-700 makes, if so then I'll gladly take it over the K-700.
I make the k700 like a crane when some of the vehicles cant cross I carry them or lift them up a little bit but the other k is kinda better and skidder has too big wheels and the suspension is low to the ground and the skidder has a dozer pretty much useful

It seems they've fixed transmission behavior on American dlc. Removed these annoying downshifts to stops all the time on mud. I've noticed that on few your videos, where American car looks more stable on auto transmission.
K 700 is best. In Spintires or in real life, for me is k 700 best tractor. :D

I do prefer the shorter wheel base on the skidder, so that it can beat the k-700 with its higher torque.
