- Hello, my lovely friend! Today, I have an absolutely BREATHTAKING, crochet shawl pattern to share with you. It's a GORGEOUS, lacy, triangle shawl that features a subtle gradient fade. I just know you're going to ADORE it!

Sunset Diamonds is an Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level crochet shawl pattern, and it is shown here in our Epochal Hues Alpaca Silk Lace yarn. I've crocheted one shawl. I needed something soothing to calm my mind while I was recovering from an operation to remove cancer last year. The rhythm of the stitches and the growth of the shawl were healing. It gave me a space to breathe and start to find myself as a person again instead of just being a patient. At one point I was very hesitant to try a shawl but I finally worked up the courage to do one. There was no stopping me after that & shawls have become my favourite thing to make. My friend & I make shawls to donate to senior’s residences & other places. I love this shawl & it is moving to the top of my list of shawls to do. I love it!

I have crocheted a few shawls. My favorite was one I made my mother for when she was going through chemo. She wore it every day. She said it gave her such comfort and she felt like she was getting a hug from me each time she wore it.

Oh yes, I have crocheted a few shawls, perhaps three dozen, including your Red Velvet Rose (twice). I've done more throws, a few hot pads and dish cloths. These were practice pieces to learn a variety of stitch patterns. I have done only one garment, a sweater vest. Thank you so much for your videos, patters, and encouragement. This one looks very nice with more texture and variety than many simpler shawls, yet not as difficult as Red Velvet Rose. Have a splendid day.

This is a beautiful shawl, I love the gradients along the edge. But as beautiful as the shawl is, the story is just as beautiful. I actually felt the ocean, as you were telling the story.
I was 15 when I decided to make a shawl for my junior prom. It was just a rectangle with a lacy edge, but I was using thread, not yarn. Needless to say, I did not get that finished in time, even though I started it, giving myself a year to make it. It took YEARS. MANY YEARS. Lol, that project taught me a valuable lesson in realistic time planning.

My very first crochet work was a shawl for my Oma for Christmas. I was 8 years old and she taught me to crochet. The shawl was well loved and remains in my “heirloom” collection more for sentimental reasons than anything else. Thanks for the lovely pattern.
