I'm like you and would want/need to work on paper... Watching you go gives me a lot of confidence that 1:1 paper schematics is something I can do. I'm in the research stage of the project, glad I found your channel so quickly :)
So far your videos are doing an awesome job of expanding my notes on building a musical instrument. I'll be trying my hand at a tenor ukulele (forgot to mention that) and you can thank your 2x4 ukulele videos for bringing me into the rest of your content hah
@@gogotrololo really happy to hear that the ukulele video brought you in. Make sure to check out my latest build series... The Mandocello ua-cam.com/video/edIKJsldijY/v-deo.html
Thanks for the feedback Danny, i'm in the process of moving to a new house and shop.. There might be a bit of a wait until I resume the build. Hope you've enjoyed the playlist so far...
TheCompleteGuitarist Thanks, glad you are enjoying the videos.. I do have a set of French curves, I don't really use em' though... Maybe I should try them more often... They can be very useful.
So if I understand this right... next to research and measurements, it's all about a certain instinct on the instrument should feel and sound in the end... I will follow this project with lots of interest.... !
Hi Gerrit, for this build I have a lot of things that my customer (Barry) and I have talk about, and from this I do have to make the instrument in a way that he will like the playability , sound and look. There is a lot of measurements to take in consideration. The break angle at 15 degree is very important for an archtop. And also Barry specified what model and look he wanted ,so I did my research based on this. I'm really happy that you'll be following ...
Ken Taylor yes that is what I did after finishing the project to redraw the print and make it available . It was really cheap too. I like this paper because it’s quite a bit sturdier that the paper from the copy centre. Thanks for watching
Had no idea what an octave mandolin was. Thanks for sending me down that rabbit hole
The videos sure help calm the anxiety. I really appreciate being able to follow along. This baby is going to sing a sweet song.
I'll share as much as I can Barry... Glad you enjoy!

Working off paper makes more sense to me that trying to get something done on a computer.
Hope you find helpful videos 👍

Watching your videos with great interest as an budding amatuer luthier. Learning a lot. You should have bought a set of French Curves.

If you need large format paper for drawing you can usually buy a sheet or two off of a printing shop.
