They forget to mention that the paintings are faked reproductions in the style of various previous painters. The transport and logistics of such an exhibition is a piece of cake for the Venetians who do this every day. The opening of the exhibition was well attended but the floods soon came and the Marciana was closed down. Beltracci had to pay the rent on the space anyway. Yes, one rents this venue and the artist bears all costs. This is somewhat common in Venice. So we have an artist famous for selling fakes who buys an exhibition, pays filmmakers, pays for everything, or not? Did he actually pay all of his bills? The show was rained out. Poetic justice or a comment by the Gods? probably bad luck with the weather....
