Deathmatch is a great weapon for its absurd crit rate but it has the lowest base attack for a 4 star weapon which keeps this weapon in check its passive is also nice
Yeah Itto at C0 is kinda tricky to get the proper burst loop on and maximize damage. But that's good, it's always fun to slowly improve yourself with something. :)

Yeah, Cyno is way too cool both gameplay and character wise. As long as he is not too underpowered he is worth it. Also he is a featured 5* character that made an appearance both in trailers and comics so mihoyo will add something that will make him OP eventually (think how kokomi went from being useless to staple pick). Of course this is just speculation based on the past characters but I highly doubt they will stop with this power level since he was planned before the games launch itself so I am pretty sure they planned more than his release kit since It's been YEARS.
What made Kokomi OP? Shenhe? Her power level is exactly the same as it was on release. She's a comfort unit for cryo teams with the best off-field AoE hydro application. Her taser team is good but not top meta since it's inferior to the all-4* variant with Sucrose. What happened is that theorycrafters and the general playerbase just figured out what her best role is, and that finally drowned out the doomposting over time. For Cyno, his role is clear from the beginning, he's a selfish on-field damage dealer with no support role. He's much more like Xiao, who hasn't gotten any truly synergistic support since release. _Never_ pull a character based on hopium future supports. It's a fantasy, and nothing more. If you like his playstyle though, and you're ok with him not being the strongest, then don't hesitate. He'll 36* the abyss with proper investment, which is all that matters (almost every character can, focusing too much on the meta is bit needless). I'll probably get him, tbh.

Not really, Collei is a very important character too and she is very average even at whale potential, can say same about Diluc and others. That said, Nahida will probably increase Cyno power along all dendro reaction characters based.
Anyone else feels like Cyno should have an 8 or 12 pack set of abs and a more muscluar physique, especially given this man wanders the desert on a daily basis on foot ? That isn't taking into account the fighting climbing, jumping etc, he's probaly stuck doing on his "Errands"... to remove the "Viruses" that plague the Desert..as he casts down his terrifying judgement..
I started messing with a Cyno vegetable soup(?) comp and it's actually quite good. The group consists of Cyno, Nahida, Xingqiu and Thoma. I like this group because I was getting tired of switching to Thoma or Xingqiu in other comps only to find their elemental skills on cooldown. So I figured, let's throw them in with Cyno since he likes to hog field time anyway. Both their bursts last as long as Cyno's too and Nahida E has more than enough duration to last the full burst. Add the interruption resistance, damage reduction and shielding and its basically everything you want in a Cyno group: Bonus EM and consistent dendro application from Nahida; Interruption resistance, heals and hydro application from Xingqiu; shielding, pyro application and bonus NA damage from Thoma (assuming c6).
i got tighnari, Candace, kuki and him all in one ten pull, i immediately lost hope when i saw tighnari and skipped until i saw cyno in the draw, could never be more grateful
While Dendro is naturally the strongest, I'm actually having fun using a Cyno, Fischl, Kazuha, Zhongli team. I don't really want to use dendro mc. With this team, Cyno just destroys everything still with the shield, as well as the kazuha buff.
That's the same party I use! I'm soo happy I just got Zhongli in his last banner. He is perfect for Cyno. And Kazuha does not leave my party for anything or anyone, hehe.
I had around 120 wishes for him and got him on wish 40ish, while going for Candace I wasted every single wish and ended up with a C2 Candace in my last two ten pulls and a C2 Cyno, won 3 50/50s in a row.
I feel like Yunjin would be at least worth considering as well. Her burst + 4 Archaic Petra adds a lot of damage to a normal attack spamming unit. With all the damage multipliers Cyno has combined with his combo speed, she seems worth considering.
Maybe because her burst lasts 12 seconds to his 18? Maybe because a lot of his damage comes from his E and doesn't solely rely on NAs? Or maybe his Q counts as burst damage similar to Shogun? I'm honestly not sure but I agree that she should be tested with him. I'm thinking Cyno/Yunjin/Gorou/DendroMC.
I think Yun Jin would be a great pair as well, as would candace for him. The only issues with both of those is the bursts only lasting 12 seconds (if candace is c1, before that it's only 9). Atm only a few characters have 15 second off-field bursts which is pretty much the longest we can get atm. So I think Yelan and XQ go well with him. If you want longer duration damage. Either way I plan to test and experiment things for myself like usual. It's fun to do that. ^^
I just realize u could just instead use Albedo instead of Zhongli for extra off-field damage, em booster and a bit of a shield. Cyno can have a bit strong crystallized shield since he suppose to have tons of em where crystallize rely to be useful. For me U could make Albedo-Cyno-Beidou-Dendro Mc or Albedo-Cyno-Dori-Dendro Mc
@@geraldo4743 albedo's elevator hits have enough delay to not afffect cyno's quick normals. It's why albedo is the premier off field damage dealer(for hu tao) from the beginning especially when he got his BIS cinnibar spindle. He is mainly the other geo u could think u will need if u want off field damage while being updated to the need of em boost. The big downside for him is when he fights certain boss he is really useless.
Imagine acidently pulling on his banner just 1 random pull instead on venti's at 47 pity and getting him, and making a new account just to get venti on the 15 pull (later loosing 50/50 on raiden to tighnari + farming my ass until getting her + another tighnari on standard banner) and making my cyno my strongest dps now

I have rlly good guilded dream pieces (attack sands with double crit stats) plus jade spear. Thank you for the weapon and artifact chart cuz I know how Ill build him now. I can't believe it. I got cyno in like 20 pulls. Still had around 18k primos, decided to shoot for his weapon with a couple ten pulls and stop with 10k left. A single ten pull got his signature polearm, and the elegy bow. Stupid surprised, now I have enough primos to shoot for another character in the future, since I already have venti, and albedo. Don't really need nilou either, so I'ma go for Dehya(: trying to build my cyno to go to the new zone and that's why I'm here lol
Me and my friends have joked that now I have “two Xiaos” since they are kinda similar with their skills and burst infusion, but cynos burst is much more complex from the looks of it than Xiao’s. Don’t get me wrong, I love Xiao, my best damage dealer, favorite character, fun play style that absolutely destroys enemies but it is mind-numbingly simple. I think having to balance skill usage is an interesting quirk for cyno.
I'm late with this, but you can also add Cyno, Dendero MC, xinque, and Diona. Diona applying a shield, high Cryo damage and procs, and heals are good for blitz battles
I got him on accident and i was pissed at 1st because i didn't want him and he stole my 50/50 but after a few days of sulking i am over it and slighty less pissed and now started to use him and he is ok

I thought I was going insane when I heard the FFXIV music. I've spent too much time in all of the zones that I find myself humming the music, so I didn't think it was weird at first but then I realized the game wasn't even on.
lost 50 50 to tighnari which i was happy about then 81 pulls later i got cyno haha. also got xiao spear from standard fate from ascension. i was really happy about my gacha session today
I got him on the very first day, and didn't feel anything about it, because I just narrowly missed out on Kokomi -__- Just slotted him up with Dragon's Bane and Gilded Dreams for EM now since that's all I have available. Will see how he plays out in the next few months.
All I know is if I ever saw some young man drssed up like fricken anubus heading towards my arse with a very sharp spear my arse would be running full speed the opposite direction. Self-preservation my friends, these guys legit just stood there and got wrecked. You see scary man with sharp pointy stick you run like hell from man with very sharp pointy stick.
Wish his attack string didn't get reset by dashing. His final AoE hit is so satisfying, but you almost never get to use it. Feels like a Yoimiya situation again, dammit mihoyo, why?! Edit: Yep shield is useful, but it still doesn't solve the lack of repositioning you could get if you were able to dash. Esp you feel it since Cyno will tend to knock enemies away, and he doesn't quite have chase like Raiden.
Agreed for Cyno's quicken teams. I would only run Kazuha to clear first half of the abyss if you have C2. The EM boost is a huge dmg buff for Quicken/Spread and helps you clear just like Zhongli's resistance shred. If you don't have C2, just run Zhongli. If you don't have either, Sucrose on 4PC VV and TTDS works or a healer (Kokomi/Barbara/Kuki) on TTDS and Tenacity has worked the best for me.
Same exact story. I wanted Zhongli and kazuha but lost to Jean and I didn’t have enough for ganyu so I just pulled for Cyno and don’t regret it one bit .
I only had a few pulls saved at the start of the banner, but I was like 70 in towards pity. Lost the 50/50, so I told my friend he could harvest my scarabs, since they're pretty rare in the field. The very next day, I pull another 5 star, 5 pulls after my last one, and now I have no scarabs for a day or two to ascend him, lol.
I'm a new f2p genshin player. Been playing for almost 2 months as of writing this. I didn't know much about wishing so I ignorantly used my primos. I got Cyno on my 90th pull. And was lucky to get another copy on my 100th and 180th pulls. So I got C2 Cyno without spending money. Do I enjoy playing with him? Yes. Do I regret getting him? A little bit. I wish I spent my primos wisely on Zhongli or other meta 5 stars but his banner is not available. Anyway, Cyno has been helping me a lot in clearing genshin's content and I don't have any other 5 stars (intentionally forgetting my C1 Mona). :p
i got 2 Cynos(that mean cyno plus the first con) at 50/50 pity pull number 75 ithink i had like 70 pulls from kokomi banner(did not get her) and ever since i got lost in the desert looking for scarabs...there is still some time for me to build him befor i can use him as my main DPS...the funny thing is that i pulled for him just because i like his look lol
i know im a bit late, but i want to share my uninteresting story of getting him since a lot of other people are to! I actully took a long break from genshin (and had to make a new acc bc i forgot my old ones password like a dummy) and i did the windlme fest quest and decided i needed him, luckily it was around the time of his rerun and i had 50 pulls saved, on the 50th pull i got mona, so i gave up and ended my era as a f2p player sadly. but ive just recently finished all the archon quests available, and even tho a lot of people say his damage is as bad as his jokes, i don't care about crazy insane damage just usable damage and also, am i the only one who finds his jokes funny?
Does anyone know how the catch interacts with cyno? Does the passive not affect the bursts damage at all? If it did it would be an insanely good ftp option because it would give all the energy recharge you need as well as a good damage boost to the burst
The Catch unfortunately does not work with Cyno. His burst talent specifies that his "normal, charged, and plunging attacks are converted to Electro DMG" for the duration. Thus, his attacks during burst do not count as burst damage, but normal/charged/plunging attack damage instead. I hope this helps!

Cyno reminds me of itto. They both have simple kits on paper but it's more complicated practically especially if you want max possible DPS.
I feel like Cyno is a lot more complicated than Itto. I have Itto but because I have c1 I think it makes him a much simpler unit to use than c0.
Atleast itto have gorou tho, plis hyv give us another gorou for cyno and xiao T^T (1.3 xiao main still waiting for jean to come home _(:3 」∠)_)

I just realize u could just instead use Albedo instead of Zhongli for extra off-field damage, em booster and a bit of a shield. Cyno can have a bit strong crystallized shield since he suppose to have tons of em where crystallize rely to be useful. For me U could make Albedo-Cyno-Beidou-Dendro Mc or Albedo-Cyno-Dori-Dendro Mc
But won't albedo takes the element away?
I think Cyno, Nahida, Albedo Zhongli will be one of his best teams tbh, but it misses the anemo and a healer... but idk it still looks great
Actually, it is only Albedo who will trigger crystallize since Geo is not a status that can be applied.
@@geraldo4743 albedo's elevator hits have enough delay to not afffect cyno's quick normals. It's why albedo is the premier off field damage dealer(for hu tao) from the beginning especially when he got his BIS cinnibar spindle. He is mainly the other geo u could think u will need if u want off field damage while being updated to the need of em boost. The big downside for him is when he fights certain boss he is really useless.
Imo zhongli better cuz cyno will not be interrupted like get thrown by enemies that made some dps loss
Imagine acidently pulling on his banner just 1 random pull instead on venti's at 47 pity and getting him, and making a new account just to get venti on the 15 pull (later loosing 50/50 on raiden to tighnari + farming my ass until getting her + another tighnari on standard banner) and making my cyno my strongest dps now
I lost 50/50 to Diluc at 76 and was so ready to have to squeeze all my primos for him then he came in the next 10 pull. I’m happy now.

I got so... lucky. I got him at 66 pull, both Elegy AND his weapon in one pull. Scarabs are a pain in the ass to find tho

I got super lucky and pulled Cyno at 20 pulls! I have rlly good guilded dream pieces (attack sands with double crit stats) plus jade spear. Thank you for the weapon and artifact chart cuz I know how Ill build him now. (so glad he has a lot of options cuz artifact RNG is not fun)
I can't believe it. I got cyno in like 20 pulls. Still had around 18k primos, decided to shoot for his weapon with a couple ten pulls and stop with 10k left. A single ten pull got his signature polearm, and the elegy bow. Stupid surprised, now I have enough primos to shoot for another character in the future, since I already have venti, and albedo. Don't really need nilou either, so I'ma go for Dehya(: trying to build my cyno to go to the new zone and that's why I'm here lol

Me and my friends have joked that now I have “two Xiaos” since they are kinda similar with their skills and burst infusion, but cynos burst is much more complex from the looks of it than Xiao’s.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Xiao, my best damage dealer, favorite character, fun play style that absolutely destroys enemies but it is mind-numbingly simple. I think having to balance skill usage is an interesting quirk for cyno.

I'm late with this, but you can also add Cyno, Dendero MC, xinque, and Diona. Diona applying a shield, high Cryo damage and procs, and heals are good for blitz battles

Well, I've got him by accident trying to get Candace, since she seem more useful for my roster from what I've seen. Of course got sayu to c6 instead and Kuki as a bonus. God damn, at this point I'm starting to believe that I'm cursed when it comes to hydro characters since it's easier for me to get a 5 star than 4 star hydro ;)...

lost 50 50 to tighnari which i was happy about then 81 pulls later i got cyno haha. also got xiao spear from standard fate from ascension. i was really happy about my gacha session today
I got him on the very first day, and didn't feel anything about it, because I just narrowly missed out on Kokomi -__-
Just slotted him up with Dragon's Bane and Gilded Dreams for EM now since that's all I have available. Will see how he plays out in the next few months.

All I know is if I ever saw some young man drssed up like fricken anubus heading towards my arse with a very sharp spear my arse would be running full speed the opposite direction. Self-preservation my friends, these guys legit just stood there and got wrecked. You see scary man with sharp pointy stick you run like hell from man with very sharp pointy stick.
Wish his attack string didn't get reset by dashing. His final AoE hit is so satisfying, but you almost never get to use it. Feels like a Yoimiya situation again, dammit mihoyo, why?!
Edit: Yep shield is useful, but it still doesn't solve the lack of repositioning you could get if you were able to dash. Esp you feel it since Cyno will tend to knock enemies away, and he doesn't quite have chase like Raiden.

Agreed for Cyno's quicken teams. I would only run Kazuha to clear first half of the abyss if you have C2. The EM boost is a huge dmg buff for Quicken/Spread and helps you clear just like Zhongli's resistance shred. If you don't have C2, just run Zhongli. If you don't have either, Sucrose on 4PC VV and TTDS works or a healer (Kokomi/Barbara/Kuki) on TTDS and Tenacity has worked the best for me.

Same exact story. I wanted Zhongli and kazuha but lost to Jean and I didn’t have enough for ganyu so I just pulled for Cyno and don’t regret it one bit .

I only had a few pulls saved at the start of the banner, but I was like 70 in towards pity. Lost the 50/50, so I told my friend he could harvest my scarabs, since they're pretty rare in the field. The very next day, I pull another 5 star, 5 pulls after my last one, and now I have no scarabs for a day or two to ascend him, lol.

I'm a new f2p genshin player. Been playing for almost 2 months as of writing this. I didn't know much about wishing so I ignorantly used my primos. I got Cyno on my 90th pull. And was lucky to get another copy on my 100th and 180th pulls. So I got C2 Cyno without spending money. Do I enjoy playing with him? Yes. Do I regret getting him? A little bit. I wish I spent my primos wisely on Zhongli or other meta 5 stars but his banner is not available. Anyway, Cyno has been helping me a lot in clearing genshin's content and I don't have any other 5 stars (intentionally forgetting my C1 Mona). :p
Glad I'm already farm for 1 months cyno artifacts in glided dreams domain... worth 69% crit rate and 208% crit dmg... triple crown

i got 2 Cynos(that mean cyno plus the first con) at 50/50 pity pull number 75 ithink i had like 70 pulls from kokomi banner(did not get her) and ever since i got lost in the desert looking for scarabs...there is still some time for me to build him befor i can use him as my main DPS...the funny thing is that i pulled for him just because i like his look lol

i know im a bit late, but i want to share my uninteresting story of getting him since a lot of other people are to! I actully took a long break from genshin (and had to make a new acc bc i forgot my old ones password like a dummy) and i did the windlme fest quest and decided i needed him, luckily it was around the time of his rerun and i had 50 pulls saved, on the 50th pull i got mona, so i gave up and ended my era as a f2p player sadly. but ive just recently finished all the archon quests available, and even tho a lot of people say his damage is as bad as his jokes, i don't care about crazy insane damage just usable damage and also, am i the only one who finds his jokes funny?
Finally, as a yugioh player, I can read a full novel just to explain a simple effect even in Genshin. The future is now babyy

Favonious lance makes him very very comfortable to use though, and allows for him to be solo electro. And it batteries the rest of the team.
Does anyone know how the catch interacts with cyno? Does the passive not affect the bursts damage at all? If it did it would be an insanely good ftp option because it would give all the energy recharge you need as well as a good damage boost to the burst
It doesn't, that's the reason Beidou's burst actually works with him and not with Raiden

The Catch unfortunately does not work with Cyno. His burst talent specifies that his "normal, charged, and plunging attacks are converted to Electro DMG" for the duration. Thus, his attacks during burst do not count as burst damage, but normal/charged/plunging attack damage instead. I hope this helps!
