@@grahamtowler1761 Hi Graham, we've had to pick and choose our days out this Summer... I can't remember such a poor run of weather. Thanks for watching, ATB Alistair 👍
Really enjoyed the aerials and your walk around Askham fell, interesting to see some of the neolithic monuments and those views of the hills are just beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Some very interesting monuments there Alistair, great explanations. These are rocks I would have just walked past without a second glance, it’s nice to know that there placings have a much more significant meaning. Great Bronze Age burial find. Must have been a busy spot back in the day. The aerial shots really give perspective!
@@GENerationXplorers Thanks very much, I've walked (and cycled) past these stones and cairns myself many times and only recently looked into the history of them. Thanks for watching and commenting as always cheers Alistair 👍
This was interesting. I love "standing stones", so I went straight ahead to see if I can buy the book here in Germany as a present for one of my brothers. I can and the price is nothing to complain about. Thank you btw for pronouncing 'moore' like I do instead of like 'more'. Must be remnants of my Cumbrian self. 😅 This 'avenue' is not in line with Castlerigg though, or is it? Take care and keep walking, Elvira
@@medievalladybird394 Hi Elvira, many of the Neolithic avenues are on a Northwest/Southeast alignment, perhaps linked to the Winter solstice sunrise?🤔 Castlerigg isn't in view from Moor Divock...but Shap Avenue is! I have a video planned for that at some point. Thanks so much for watching and commenting it's very much appreciated ATB Alistair 👍
Very interesting Alistair. I remember the Cockpit when I walked to Loadpot Hill a couple of years back. Askham is a really nice place too. Hope you are well. Best wishes, Chris

@@PhilipOlsen11 It's hard to know what to do sometimes, I'm sure that a lot of subs came for the Lakes hills but truthfully I've climbed them so many times my motivation is very often low! Thanks again ATB Alistair
