Some other people have mentioned Flips and Dinosaur Jr, which I can certainly see, but to me this conjures up Sparklehorse more than anything else. Great video and great song!
@@wehappyfewmusic keep an eye out, they pop up here and there. I actually found mine used on guitar center’s website. It was a somewhat decent price and I figured I could return it if something was wrong.
reminds me of the og duster stuff, ive listened to it for ages from various sources over the internet but they recently released some of it as the remote echoes album! I'm sure you must be a fan but if not check it out I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Yeah, loooove Duster. I actually didn’t discover them until around 2019 when they started coming back. I don’t know how I missed them back in the day. They should have been one of my favorite bands ever. I’ve made up for lost time and they’ve definitely become an influence. Gonna go jam Remote Echoes now!
Any time someone says "I'm about to record a song on a 4 track cassette recorder..." I'm in. Awesome!
Heck yeahhh!! Thanks!
Wow - a real human being .....how refreshing !
I try!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻😂😂
as a musician myself who loves to explore new ways to make music and record this is so inspiring!!! keep going!
Ahhh man, it's comments like these that make posting to UA-cam totally worth it. Thanks so much!!
I love this. Sounds like it could be a Flaming Lips B-side or something.
Thanks so much! As a former Okie, that means a lot to me.
Hi Jason, that's what I call an honest four track cassette recording, warm and beautiful. Happy recording. Paul.
@@TheHomeRecordingChannel thanks so much for the kind words Paul!!
Great job very creative! Ghoulish sounding ending with the pitch knob
@@michaelsilverman341 thanks so much! Love the ghoulish pitch wheel!
Love this! Thanks for sharing - I’ve been getting back into my 414 mkII and it is super fun.
@@LindseyKyle thanks so much! It’s such a fun little machine!

@@samueljenkins3636 that’s some high praise in my book. Thank you so much!
@@jasonelambeth You are welcome! Apologies for the late response.
I have one under my desk. Will definitely take it out. Did not expect that result. Cool.
It’s a great little machine! Have fun Jim!
Awesome vid, Jason! That organ/drum machine has got some vibes!
Thanks man! I love that thing so much! It’s definitely a prized possession.
This was killer! I looooooooved the turn the piece took at the end as you slowed down the tape. I really wish my 4 track had speed control.
Thanks Drew!! I never get tired of playing with the pitch wheel on that thing!
Interesting stuff, I had a Tascam Porta 2 back in the day and loved it, you have me wanting one again, cheers pal
Thanks so much! The four track is total nostalgia for me. But, I also love the outcome as well!
that was much cuter than expected. i thank
lol. Thanks!
Sounds great! I have a 414 but I've never used it. Maybe I'll see what I can do with it.
Oh man, yeah it’s a fun recorder. Definitely go for it!
Another great video, and I think I need to get one of those omnichord things now! 😅
If you can score one at a decent price, go for it! Such a fun songwriting tool. Plus they sound so awesome!
@@jasonelambeth wow, I just checked the price!! 💰 💰

Supercool! Thanks for the vid! I mean, the scene of the inside of the fridge is really big😅👍
Hahaha the fridge! The production costs on that shot alone were through the roof!
@@jasonelambeth 😅😅😅
Mate...stumbled onto this by accident. WONDERFUL..CHEERS.
Thanks so much. Truly appreciate you checking it out!
Sweet song and video man!! I've been wanting to try something like this
Thanks so much! You should totally go for it!
That’s the way!!!❤
Thanks!!

Heck yeah! Thanks so much! This made my day!
Excellent
Thanks Ken!
nice and chill.
That’s how I roll.
VERY Dinosaur Jr. vocal & melody. with a FLips backing.
Anytime someone compares me to Dino jr. it’s a good day. The Lips too. Thanks!
yo la tengo and grandaddy vibes! really nice
@@paddyconn3344 two of my favorites! Thanks!
The 414 is the machine that has been the most elusive to me.. one day 😅
It’s such a great little machine. I see them pop up on FB marketplace from time to time. Definitely keep an eye out!
eBay has great deal on allot of them.
@@Imetalman2000 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This is very cool.
Thanks so much for watching!
Total helvetia sound you got there man
Heck yeah! I’m on board with that! Thanks!
Even a rough mix at the end would have been satisfying. Anyone interested in this video would understand if it's not perfect!
I would say this was far from a great mix! 😂😂
🤩
Joe! Hope you’re doing well!
