This Japanese whiskey smelled totally different then anything we ever had, it is made from malted barley and is very light in color. We did not like the taste of this whiskey how ever the more you drank the more it improved but overall this did not rank well with my pallet, and i wish i would have bought the cheaper bottle of Hatozaki.

Some of these "Japanese" Whiskeys are actually scotch whiskey which they import and either give a quick finish to, or just blend it (with Japanese, Irish, Canadian or Japanese whiskeys) and bottle it under their labels. There's new rules coming in which will put a stop to that practice and hopefully result in some more reliable whiskeys. Although, if you can, you should check out Suntory AO World Whiskey, a very transparent blend of whiskeys from five different countries.
(also, I think we all like a whiskey more, the more we drink it!!!😂)

I will see if i can get that. I very much would like to try some other Japanese whiskeys it is a shame the Hatozaki was so weird kind of is shying me away from trying anything else they make, will most likely try other brands before i try anything else they have out.

It’s definitely not a bourbon, but for a Japanese whiskey, and you like that smooth fruit flavor with a little oak, it’s great.
