Why should these ads have never existed?? If it weren't for these original computers and related peripherals, you wouldn't have the technology you have today. I understand that things have progressed exponentially since the 70s, but that doesn't mean the ads that came out in that decade should have never existed. I think that's just a silly thing to say. On the other hand, I will admit thet calling a modem sexy was not normal, lol
My uncle was 88 when he died. To his last, he complained to anybody that would listen about how computers ruined the world. They're like kryptonite for boomers and preceding generations.
Sometimes it's being intimidated by the technology, sometimes it's an apprehension of unnecessary complexity and intrusion on one's personal privacy and autonomy- concerns less frequently encountered in the younger generation.
Mine was the original CoCo in the silver case with the chicklet keyboard. I upgraded it to a whopping 64K of memory. I still have it and you can see where I wore the paint off around the keyboard. I worked for CDC and TEC back in the 70's and two of the CRT terminals in this video were made by them.
well technology evolves so these came first, that’s why the ads exist. I had a VIC 20 computer in the early 80s and I have an iPhone now. And there was a whole lot invented in between right.
trs 80..or as we nerds called it the trash 80 i remember learning basic..and "color basic"..which on the computer, you put "C" before the basic commands
Unlike most modern movies, this presentation sounds and looks so dated and technologically naive. It would have been good to see shocking 70's tech Ads.
Why do you start talking about TRS-80 Model 100 which was portable and then show video of the TRS-80 Coco which was not. Nonetheless, TRS-80 Coco was a reasonably priced choice for a color home computer when you couldn't afford an Apple II, as it was for me.

I thought the video - while good- was a little odd myself. Maybe just a bad title. lol
apple computer for $666.66? That....wow. Wow. Just shaking my head here
And later the bite out of the apple 🤔
I can hear my wallet weeping
That promotional model was widely regarded to be behind the horror at the Amityville house...
It had nothing to do with the demonic. Just an easy, affordable price point!
Most ironic is the father trying to lure his kid away from the computer. Now its the exact opposite!!!
Steve Wozniak was the true genius of Apple!!!!!
He is such an unsung hero right?
@@MemoryManor Yup
You could have just typed 70s Tech Ads and people would still look.

They are definitely a double edged sword. Great when they work, but boy are we screwed when they don't.

I can understand the apprehension. But once you get a hang of it like i’m trying to do, it’s quite fun!

Sorry I had to give up I could not take the loud commentary.
Im sorry theres nothing shocking about these ads, your clickbaiting. Shocking ads didnt start until the Sega Genesis and Atari Jaguar.
Absolutely right - nothing but clickbait. Really dumb. Unsubscribed.
True the titlle is a bit off the mark but it was still a good video of computer history, lighten up a bit guys!
