*You* played team sports. *_You_*_ know_what it's like to be a team player. What NFL team _owner_ do you think knows what that is or values it?
NFL team owners are *business* owners. They see the players as employees & the coaches as the supervisors who act like a buffer between them & those employees. They do not understand nor trust a "player/employee-friendly" coach. They *want* the tyrants.
It doesn't help that you the players project team spirit onto whoever your coaches turn out to be, but The Reason Rich Bisacchia was pushed out in favor of Josh McDaniels isn't strictly a Mark Davis thing. Why could Parcells or Jimmy Johnson get work long before they retired?
When Jerry Jones wants A he wants ONLY yes-men around. Like what I said elsewhere about coaches, owners prefer to lose Their Way than to win without imposing it. Of course, many owners thankfully _know_ they are unqualified to handle team operations & stay out of them. The Bills, Bears, certainly Chargers & Broncos. But they don't make the news.
