2 things needed and very small. Leatherman Squirt knife (eg PS4), necklace with ceramic striker and ferrocerrium. Ceramic striker can sharpen blade and strike ferrocerrium. If you have more room, get a swiss army knife. All the rest is just gadgets. Flashlight maybe useful but not for EDC.
I appreciate every time somebody has actually used flashlights enough to know that the moonlight range of brightness is by far the most useful. Trying to unban stealth camp on a bike tour, zebralights 0.1 lumen is critical. See what you are doing without blowing up your spot.
For me, SOG Ultra XR + Nitecore TIP SE. Extremely small and lightweight. That wallet is amazingly minimal, but personally I need lots of capacity so the Slimpuro ZNAP wallet is my choice. Same dimensions as a credit card, just thicker obviously. Has very thin trifold in the back too.
Love the minichamp! That’s been in my EDC for 2 years now. I swapped the tweezers for a toothpick because stuff is always stuck in my teeth. There are some tools in it that are not entirely necessary for my EDC, so if I was really trying to aggressively minimize the space, the Manager would probably be a better choice, but we’re only talking about a couple grams of weight and a couple millimeters of width.
With the contents in the tin I would just carry the mini champ, it literally has everything that is in the tin on it and would massively reduce the amount of stuff carried.
Excited about the future offerings of Carry Commission! I like some of the fun editing you added in this vid. Also, I've always been intrigued by the McBee - I'm interested in what you think of it after a few months of use. Cheers!
Rambler is the best of the 58mm range. The pen is really too small and the flash light needs pressing when I need it to stay on. I do use the tweeter and toothpick but they would equally fit in a pouch to hold the Midnight manager.
I have a manager, the pen is fine if you take the file/flathead out to give you more length. I was after an Alex Rambler and agree that does seem to be the best for utility for the size and no redundancy but you just can’t get them anywhere. If anyone can then please let me know. So I settled for an Alox Minichamp despite not wanting the useless tools or redundancy that it has. I do like it more than I thought I would and it’s small enough to not be too worried by the extra tools. To my surprise, I have already used the cuticle pusher for when my nail wasn’t strong enough to pry open a hatch and also for a larger flathead screw. The orange peeler I could potentially see using as some sort of scraper but I’m not sure it’s any better at opening packages than a knife. The second blade, well, at least that should always be sharp but you really don’t need that redundancy when this knife is probably the backup anyway. I would still rather have an Alox Rambler, but I don’t regret getting the Alox Minichamp.
Leatherman Micra. Decent functionality, but really the best pair of scissors I've used on a small multitool, and scissors are a must-carry for me. And to be honest... Most multitool scissors (regardless of size) suck. Difficult to balance in the hand, the springs routinely fail, and they gum-up super easily. Legit, the Micra does NOT get enough love.
*might suggest adding the grim workshop micro cordage maker that transforms a plastic bottle into very sturdy and durable emergency cordage...also not that expensive as edc items go*
Dude, I NEED that green topo minichamp! My main edc theme is OD green and a few of the items have topo on them. It’s like you read my mind and made the perfect sak scales. Any plans to make any larger versions and sell just the scales? 👀
Id trade that 2.5 lumen olight for the 650 lumen A5 and trade the minchamp for a pioneer. Would probably have to change out the pen or knife but woulf be worth it in my opinion

On the subject of redundancy, I carry three knives and two pens. But all three knives have specific roles based on their designs, and the pens write in different-colored ink. That makes more sense to me than trying to make an already- overtaxed multi tool try to fill even more roles than it already is. Besides, there always exists the possibility of one tool breaking, so having backups is good too.

Why not only use a leatherman micra on your keychain? I also got a Gerber dime for my wife and it is also pretty nice...especially with the box opener and easy access bottle opener. Mimics a lot of those tools, while being very compact...just saying.

You should check out the LUMINTOP GT Nano Osram KW CSLNM1.1 450LM 350M THROW EDC FLASHLIGHT. It’s got similar shape to the X9R cell but it’s a little bigger. Still a mini light but has 450 lumens!

I feel like the minichamp has too many "bad" tools to justify the bulk. For the same space you can use a Micra with a better load out.

Your pen . Have you looked at Skillkart B2 . Black ink blue and mechanical pencil .5 mm lead
For EDC you don’t need a pen. Charcoal.
