@Big Daddy I do kind of get your point, as a babyface i also liked Edge but when he won Mitb he changed, but compared to so many others now Edge was and is still way fucking better, people won't admit it but Edge was the first to do Mitb and successfully cash in, win the wwe championship on John Cena. Then Cm punk cashed in on Edge, Miz cashed in on Orton, D bryan, Ziggler.....
The headache thing speaks to me so much. I have insane neck issues for years and I’ve had so much pressure in my head for so long that I have periods where I forget about it. Those rare moments I have a good day and don’t have a headache you feel like you can accomplish anything
For me WWE went downhill shortly after Edge retired. Probably a coincidence but there were not many old school wrestlers remaining. Great to have him back showing the youngsters a trick or 2.
There was for sure a huge piece missing from Smackdown after he left. Looking back, he was pretty much the face of Smackdown for 6-7 months with his storylines against Kane, Ziggler, and Del Rio. The program felt empty for a while after he left.
I think the problem was that they weren't pushing any new stars to replace those old school wrestlers. The Hardy's, Jericho, Undertaker, Batista, Mysterio, Michaels, Triple H, all gone or part time. Pretty quickly Cena and Punk were the only two left. Whenever WWE tried to push a new, young talent it would fall flat for one reason for another in the early PG era. Ziggler, Nexus, and Ryback never really "made it" for one reason or another. Which is something they still seem to struggle with, despite new talent being very over, WWE doesn't capitalize on it, preferring to have one or two "top guys" fight until they can't anymore.
WWE was already horrendous by 2007, but it didn’t bottom out until 2011-2013 when Ziggler, Del Rio, Swagger and Khali were in the main event. Edge was a rare bright spot in the PG era
Honestly I feel like Edge is going to win the title but maybe not right now I mean I could imagine Vince told him hey we want a three-year deal before you retire yes you are going to win a champion whether it's the WWE Champion or Universal champion but for right now would you be okay if you put guys over I feel like he would pick his opponents he would want to face and cross that off his bucket list
This is why time off for wrestlers is crucial There’s an off-season for most if all sports, there should be in professional wrestling, excuse me, in WWE Vince.
Two amazing wrestlers and better men who paid the price with their bodies. You all don’t even realize how much you’ve motivated a struggling wrestling fan who’s been thru 9 surgeries in 2.5 years. I know the feeling all too well. Waking up from surgery there’s a hell of a lot of pain. But the pain is different. It feels sore because you’ve been cut and swole up like a balloon, but it’s much preferred to that chronic pain that nags you every day because you know post surgical pain is very temporary. Edge looks better than ever and it took a decade. If you all out there are having health problems, never give up. I’m almost recovered from a 3 year long illness
DAMN THAT'S CRAZY HOW A NECK SURGERY THAT GONE PERFECTLY RIGHT CAN TAKE AWAYS BODY PARTS SUCH AS A HEADACHE GO AWAY AND YOU NOT REALIZING IT THAT'S CRAZY
I didn't know Edge was so injured that he had to retire. I really thought it was a storyline plot. I think Christian and him were doing something. At the end of the retirement speech I realized. It was a real promo and plus Edge wanted to cry. Glad you came back.
@Versatile Wolf nope not until the end of the speech. I frequent wrestling websites for all the information. I don't remember any reports saying Edge is retiring. I swear. When he had that look, that tear and the ending of that speech. I was surprised he won at that WrestleMania. I thought when you leave, you pass the torch and lose. He retired as champion.
I wonder if he could have come backed a lot sooner after his 2012 surgery, he didn't have another check up until 2018, makes me kind of sad cause we could have possibly seen him wrestle for more years. Then again, he seems to make it clear he probably just was going to push another 3 years from age 37-40, so if he came back like 2015, he would have retire by 2018
I absolutely agree with edge. I had a severe autoimmune disease that effected my bowel from 21-33. It is absolutely insane what you can live with and just becomes normal, then you have a surgery (in my case my bowel was removed) and suddenly you don’t have those pains and different things going on, and you start to realise exactly how if not disabled, then debilitated you actually were for so long. I suddenly didn’t need to stretch every half an hour, sleep with my legs crossed, I didn’t take 20+ minutes on the toilet and another 15minutes to recover. I could stand up and sit down and not get light headed. I could confidently go for a walk and not carry toilet paper and bag in case on the track I needed to go to the toilet. It’s wild what I used to call normal. Or even good!!! That now I couldn’t describe as anything but horrendous conditions.
I dislocated my shoulder falling off a ladder in 2006 at a Indy show and ever since then everything I do is effected. Sleep is different, picking things up is different, weight training is way less intense etc I have never had surgery but any time u get any type of injury u need to get surgery if possible or u will deal with it for ur entire life
“Since Brock Lesnar will never get a title shot against the big show, give Brock lesnar a title shot RIGHT NOW.” That’s the reason this edge kid retired
@@SupremeOracle No it doesn't. Edge is a top guy with matches that changed everything under his belt, not some generic luchador that does the same thing in every match.
Edge is one of the best to do it, as a good guy as a bad guy, he's a once in a lifetime pro wrestler
@Big Daddy let me guess you were born in the year 2000 right, and did not watch edge in the 90s and early 2000s

He is meh as a good guy and one of the best bad guys ever especially 05-09 run
Edge was naturally a heel, He was average as a face but when he was heel he was gold
Perfect pair: Rated Xanax edge and Perc Angle!
Love y all

I just stopped watching WWE when Edge left period.

Man that Edge vs. Kurt Angle cage match was great.
Some other greatest Edge matches from 2002:
Edge vs Eddie Guerrero - No DQ
Edge & Mysterio vs Angle & Benoit (No Mercy)
It's so awesome to have you back edge #edgeheadforlife
I agree
Edge trash. Seth Rollins is better

It would be cool if Edge wins the championship one more time before he finally retires
Very possible, he's way more active and over than other part timers that win the title

I cried the night after wrestlemania when he said he has to retire on Raw.

Fusion neck surgery causes other problems to the spine. He needed a disc replacement
One wrong bump could paralyze him.anyway I wish him all the best in his second run with wwe

The volume was set a bit too low on this podcast episode
Edge hasn't wrestled since Crown Jewel in October, I would assume he'll be back in time for the Royal Rumble.
How did I not know about this channel until today. I SUCK! Got yerself a sub today Kurt.

In a way his early retirement was a blessing in disguise for Edge. Otherwise he might not have branched out into an acting career.
Randy!!!! Randy!!! Don't you do it
No Conrad we don’t want to save with you
Exactly
Wow
I remember edge first match in wwe he flip over the top rope and injured a guy
I love edge!
Wrestling road diet helps with getting bad head ache
Team EK! (not ECK)
See what I did there? :)
I always imagine the damage his back and spine suffered from wrestlemania 23 with the jeff hardy ladder spot
Only in wrestling can you put the words "fun" and "vicious" in the same sentence
Just imagined if Edge got the newer neck surgery Kurt Angle recieved in 2003. Would’ve extended his career.
“Since Brock Lesnar will never get a title shot against the big show, give Brock lesnar a title shot RIGHT NOW.”

You don’t realize how sore you are because of modern medicine
Edge’s voice is way deeper than it was a year ago 💉💉💉💉
Is it just me or does Kurt look like he is still taking pills? He seems to snooze off at times
Excuse me? The Sting of this show??? You’re like four levels below Sting.
Edge is such a bigger deal than Sting. Sting was a lame face from second tier companies. Edge changed the game.
He calls Rey a legend. And that he is. But edge?! Now that’s a fucking legend!!! Thank you edge!
In the wrestling world, Rey's name holds more weight.
