Grew up there 1954-67/68. It was a bustling little town then, Falconbridge Iron Mines, logging, gill netters in the harbour, ships from Japan coming in for the iron ore. Before that in the 30s the gold mining, Privateer Mines,Spud Valley etc. It had 2 hospitals through the valley, up at Privateer bowling alley etc. interesting history. Gold shut down when the war hit.
I was there around 1976 hauling big fish boxes in from Vancouver. A great little place; catch cab off the dock. Did one of the native boys sing that tune and also write it. It works; makes you want to visit. Thanks From. Alberta

My father worked there in a mine owned by his cousins Ray Pitre and Herb Kevis. Privateer mine back in the 1940s.
