In my history of rock, it was the best! New Hits were born „you keep on moving, man on the silver mountain, ain‘t no love in the heart of the city....... and ....perfect strangers!“
It's not weird. Like every musician, he was trying to adjust but when it became too much of an adjustment, that's when you know you have to either force change or leave the band. I was what...14 or 15 at the time and those two albums really disappointed my expectations. Except the title songs, it was all a weird mixture of everything that I didn't like, especially the pop feel to it. It just wasn't the same Deep Purple with the new line up. I never liked David Coverdale, I loved Glenn Hughes in Trapeze but not in DP. It just changed everything - to worse. BTW, I consider Stargazer riff as the ultimate rock and metal riff of all times.
i miss his influence in contemporary hard rock

And that's how Rainbow emerged.Supergroup.
Bro what a chad, literally said I'm out cuz I don't like funky music
Wow, so he liked the Medieval/Renaissance music even back then! Pre Blackmore Night.
Yes. He said that he always considered himself Renaissance musician.
Rainbow was basically his first medieval rock act.
April from 1969 album has that sound
Good decision he formed Rainbow and had one of Rocks best singers Turner also Richie gaves us what he wanted to play with his guitar playing style!
ONLY HALF THE BATTLE!!!
I wonder who put the «funky thing»,,glenn hughes?
glenn put more soul & funk, coverdale put more on bluesy vibe
@@pikonorida1026 yeah,,agree,,i guess ritchie was searching for another path maybe
Si Glenn hughes metió funk en purple
Who knows but Ritchie is a weird individual
Ian Paice too, he wanted to be a more funky drummer.
Funnily the Hughes Coverdale is my fav Purple
Ritchie is 100% right ....i would of stepped off too.

Then I'm off...
It's weird because the BURN album is hellafunky and so is Ritchie's playing.

serious people dont like the funk. ritchie is as serious as a heart attack
Glenn Hughes happened. Not a funk fan myself.
I don't like funk either. Glenn loves it though and doesn't like hard rock 😅
Allways knew it was glenn hughes fault tried to turn them into trapeze
Bullshit, none of their albums were funky after that. They are heavy rock with Steve morse. Ritchie just couldn"t get along well with Gillan.
The singer was David Coverdale when he left in 1975.
That's because Richie is a strange individual
Too much cocaine
Glenn Hughes worst musician deep purple ever had
the BEST BASSIST though.....by far....
I like the Paul McCartney years tho😕😕😕😕
Roger Glover is a much better bass player
Glenn Hughes in an AMAZING musician, what are you talking about?
What? Glenn Hughes is known to be one of the best musicians around. C'mon man.😂
Ego?
