People in the dressage World have said for years her horses have 'blue tongue' & 'frothing white mouth' far too often when she's competing , her reigns are far too tight to gain submission from her horse.

these horses are definitely mistreated I have a friend who has been involved with dressage and she has told me the intense cruelty toward these horses it has to stop we have to stop admiring this kind of sport it makes me very sad thank God somebody has exposed it should’ve been done a long time ago where are the authorities where is the oversight
Please remove horse riding out of Olympic. This is not a fair sport. It depends mostly on horses not riders. Horses are forced to compete in the Olympic.

An error ? She whipped the horse 24 times in less than a minute. A video did not emerge ! A lawyer has presented the video to protect the future of horses. Horses have to be protected from Dejardin.
She’s ashamed she was caught. No way this is the first time she has done this. She is not alone in this treatment of horses for one’s own narcissistic needs.

I’m sorry but this is social bullying. No one complained until she made the Olympics. I can’t see in the video if she is actually whacking the horse or cracking the whip. However, if she really hit that horse abusively hard that horse is plenty strong enough to rebel much more radically and dangerously. I’m sorry but I think this is a sky is falling over reaction by everyone. For those of us who have had experience with horses, common sense would tell you that a truly abusive whipping would cause that horse to react much more violently, and even endanger the life of the rider. This horse is not shaking in his boots, he is not in pain, he is not escalating out of control from the rider. He is in fact resisting, and perhaps annoyed at most. My one horse that hates being wormed gets more upset over being wormed than this horse is right now in this video. The abuse here is against the trainer and Olympic rider, by the public and powers that be. Shame on you.
Or the horse knows well from experience that if it reacts to the whipping by not behaving the way she demands the punishment will get worse. Lots of people and animals that regularly experience abuse end up submitting to the abuse because when they try to fight back, flee or not follow instructions the abuse inevitably gets worse. That tragically is the power dynamic in abusive situations.
Seeing is believing, that horse is stressed you can tell by its breathing and cowarding towards the walls of the arena, to get away, it has a bit in its mouth and a rider! And someone with a whip, the horse has obviously been broken in, and it's temperament may be submissive. You're siding with the use of the whip. I always think that if you have to gain control of an animal (even human) by using fear, instead of kindness, then You're not very nice. Using trauma as a way to control. If I had a horse, I'd definitely train to ride it bitless, bits are cruel too. A bit controversial, but how cool would it be to have control of a horse, through kind training, rather than using painful techniques!

No, I don't use whips, I just use the voice mike it sound deeper. People say hold the reins firmly, I say no. Never liked dressage.
