"I also deserve to give my brain a chance to cultivate thoughts and pay attention to the important things that are right infront me."
why do we always forget to do this , it made me think a lot about my life lately. Thank you Hannah.
I actually love having quiet mornings, but as soon as I start working I need those lofi beats... I think they're a good balance... not totally silent but also not distracting... though if you're addicted to background noise, makes sense to give your brain a break from it all! 💛💛💛
Lofi is awesome! ❤
You don't realize how much impact this video had on me, making me realize why I feel so incomfortable by the end of the day while I spend the entire day being afraid of silence and surrounding me with noice 24/7, why it is such a struggle to focus and why I feel so quickly submerged by every new task. I thought the videos, podcasts and all were relaxing me and putting me in a better mindset to work but it's just the opposite. As you said I'm not even letting myself a chance to focus with all of that. So thank you so so much for sharing this with us ! By sharing how you feel you may help many others to understand themselves and not feel alone, so again thank you queen ❤
This is so true. I protect my morning as much as I can. Social media is so hard on my mental health that I have to be strict. Starting my morning quietly and not touching my phone for the first hour is so so good. A rushed morning throws off the whole day.
I absolutely love your bond with Charlie, there is nothing like a bond with a cat. I have two cats myself and they are my life.
HANNAH ELISE!!! love these types of vlogs from the productivity queen herself 🤍
THANK YOU NATALIE I hope you enjoyed 🥰
When u become comfortable with your own company in silence it is truly priceless. You are more in tune with yourself.
I've been feeling the same exact way about how my attention span has shifted over the past few years since lockdown. This video makes me feel really inspired to dedicate my mornings to reteaching myself this positive habit. Not being able to focus on one thing for a long period of time like I used to in the past has been stressful to me. I think it's a big contributor to my lingering depression and inability to tackle and complete personal projects outside of work. Thanks so much for talking openly about it and giving this routine a shot - I'm going to try my best to emulate! xo
as someone with adhd depression and anxiety that wouldn’t work for me, i’ve tried and all i had was panic attacks from silence and bad thoughts coming into my mind and i found out that i indeed need smt to motivate me complete the tasks, i don’t mean scrolling, i mean listening to music mainly and/or watching something. but i’m glad it works for you and for whoever is doing it
I relate to a lot of the stuff you talked about. Like I’m struggling with productivity and social media addiction as well and not feeling stimulated enough just leads to me feeling restless and bored.
what you said about being in a quiet space while doing tasks is so true!!! i usually have a video playing while cooking but it gets me so distracted and dinner tasks so long!!!
One of my favourite mornings are the ones spent with me eating breakfast while watching your vlog. But I have been extremely busy and would rather sleep in than eat these days. So thank you for today, Hannah ❤️
Love watching your videos! Your videos are what I listen to/watch while I do my weekly reset. I was wondering if you have a video, or if you would be willing to do a video about what things you bought for your apartment that you love, and then things that you wish you would have gotten a different product?
The way your voice changes to podcast Hannah when you’re sitting down talking to us is wild but so calming 😻
no literally who is this
this is exactly what i needed, i have the worst habit at listening to difference stimuli to get rid of the silence but then i have the worst moments of being almost completely unable to focus and wonder why. this definitely made me want to start detoxing esp with school so thank you so much!
This was much needed. I got to a point where even while watching a video, I am texting or scrolling on my phone. I'll try the 'quiet' morning routine too. Thank you, Hannah!
I feel so validated , because I do background noises for the same reasons ; it feels good to not feel alone, thank you 🫶🏻🫧
It resonates with me too .
I can relate , especially the part of scrolling and moving from one app to another .
Slow mornings are such a luxury 😩 I love this. I just saw Charley’s day in the life on TikTok so this was fate that you uploaded! 😂❤.
I’m much older than you but had noticed in other videos that you have headphones on all the time and wondered about it. Comfort w silence, even enjoying silence is so important. It forces us to reflect and be introspective, which is hugely important in development. Very interesting to see you address this and talk about it. 👏🏼
This is SUCH an incredibly helpful reminder...thank you for speaking on this and giving an example of how to improve in this area!!
Hannah, I’ve been watching your vids for 2 years+ and as someone who also lives alone I’ve never related more ! Thank you for giving us a perspective and something to try to get out of this dopamine spiral 🙏
I totally agree about need that quiet time, I’ve been trying to practice this in my life, and not always putting sound on when doing something at my place. even when driving as well
lol me using your video about silence as background noise which I clean the dishes.
But i never knew why I did this or if it was an issue, even living with roommates when I was by myself or didn’t feel like interacting with them. You’ve inspired me to try and embrace silence more.
12:26 whenever Hannah is talking and stops to complain about the honking or whatever is happening outside the apartment it cracks me up for some reason 😂😂 like in the middle of a super motivating speech to remind us how relatable she is. It’s just so funny to me
Yess! Out of sight truly is out of mind. I started that with my phone late last year & it completely changed my days. I’m a lot more productive now & my brain isn’t thinking about what I just consumed- therefore, I feel more creative and more myself (if that makes sense 😊).
Tysm for helping me realize that I’m not the only one struggling with limiting screen time. Making me feel productive. And honestly I need to stop listening to podcast because I think the main reason I use too much screen time is because I don’t have anything or anyone to entertain me. I don’t have a pet, any kids my age in my neighborhood, people to just go over to their house. It’s so hard but I’m pushing I just have that feeling in me to turn it on!
I also have this similar problem & watching you intentionally doing this has motivated me. I am gonna try to implement some form of this quiet time! ❤
i'll be oh lets have a productive morning! and then spend like 1 hour browsing music or a movie to put in the background an do NOTHING, so i'm really glad someone talked about it
Hey Hannah! I just wanted to say that you are such an inspiration to me and I am so obsessed with your content! Thank you for always being such a light in this world! Ilysm and I hope you have an amazing week 💕
Thank you so much 🥺 this means the world to me. I love you more
This is SUCH a good video! I have done the same, and while mine is more ‘night time’ quiet, it’s just important to unplug. I mean, I’ll write in my porch at night and listen to nature. Ok, I have cars and a train to contend with but it’s great to just hear the wind through the leaves, or the silence of the snow.
Not me laughing so hard when you’re talking and the car horn starts honking and you shout at the window. Literally me when a train comes :D
Strangely I woke up feeling exactly this way, and this video was up next in my watch later playlist. If you know, you know! 😅 What incredible timing! I’ve been not able to sleep because I have so many exciting and creative unheard thoughts- 💭 Waking up feeling so tired and unmotivated and frankly confused on how to go about it all.
I definitely can relate and appreciate this video. ❤
It’s not just you!!! I needed this so bad today. We’ve got this. Silence is beautiful :)
This video gave me chills of happiness (cant explain)
I Can relate SO much!!!! I was always listening to podcast, radio Of music while I was on the bus or working, now I found that I enjoy doing that in the amazing silence with my thoughts Wich sometimes Can be a bit hard
Oh Hannah, you sound exactly like me last year before I got my adhd diagnosis. I thought having a "quiet" morning routine would fix my distraction, but I couldn't keep it up bc I was relying on willpower alone. For anyone reading, scientifically dopamine is what actually makes you feel motivation. An overload is bad, but it's a necessary neurotransmitter, and adhd brains are deficient in it to begin with. Hence distraction/low motivation. After a year of trying different medications I've landed on Noocube, which is a natural brain supplement. It helps me focus, get more done, and keep my house clean. But I let myself listen to podcasts now bc my motivation would plummet otherwise. Sorry for unsolicited advice, either way I hope you find some peace and understanding of how your brain works best. Love you Hannah❤️
I needed this. Thank you girl, your videos inspire me to get up of my bed and do something good for me 🖤
I never realised how much I relate to always having something on in the background until this video of course. As I was watching this video I thought back to my day today and realised that for most of today I had something on whether that be a podcast, music or video. This has made me realise what I need to change in order to better myself. Thank you for this amazing video and I love all your content. Keep doing what you're doing!
ive been learning to love silence again (slowly) because i cant have my phone on me during my job and it's amazing for my overall productivity
something that has helped me reduce social media use is setting daily time limits on apps and scheduling a block of time (for me it’s until 10am) where I can’t use certain apps. these are both iphone settings! highly recommend checking out “down time” and “app limits” in settings if you haven’t already
Your vlogs give me so much calm and happiness. You inspire me to take more time for myself and have calmer days. Thanks big sissy💗🥹
this makes me SMILE SO BIG
SO TIMELY. just listened to emma’s podcast on this and saw u had a video on it!! your videos always inspire me - definitely going to implement this, and some of the aspects at night as well. much love ♥️
It's funny that this video is about being able to focus and get stuff done and basically feel OK in a silent place, I normally don't have any touble with silence, but right now I have this video playing in the background only beacause it's easier to get my work done while listening to something, even if it's just your voice in backgroung even if I'm not really paying attetion to what you're saying and I'm focused on my work, it helps to have something to listen to while I'm working. It's just funny that I'm doing exactly what the video tells me that I shoudn't be doing
Loved the video. Just the other day I was talking to my psychiatrist and he told me that the need to be on your phone all the time or or doing things because is hard for me to concentrate in anything (even a youtube video) is, in my case, because of anxiety and not a sign of problems of concentration or sign of adhd, and that’s how we have to address it, since is based on the restlessness that we people with anxiety suffer 😮
I loved this video’s editing style. It was so relaxing and peaceful.
this is such an important video i need to work on this. i have been so distracted for so long now and i can’t get a lot done sometimes and feel so overwhelmed after checking my phone and after im off it trying to remember what i needed to get done. it can be so hard. i love your videos💕 they bring me a lot of peace
Love the video! I also have this provblem, I'm never okay with silence, ever... Specially cause my mind never shut up so having background noise is essential to at least muffle these thoughts, but yeah, this causes a lot of stress and so on... I really loved all you said in the video. Thank you, I'm a real one here and in the podcast! 😊
I feel so motivated watching this video! I am SO addicted to social media and UA-cam, it's sad. So thank you!❤
Hey Hannah! I love your videos - just wanted to drop a comment about behavior change and these "tiny habits". I'm a senior in college now and one of the best courses I have even taken was a class called Exercise and Health Psychology. One of our semester long projects was picking some habit that we were going to break/introduce into our lives and practice it for the duration of the course. I actually picked something similar to what you're doing now: to detox from screen time before bed. I learned through this course that change can't happen by simply removing a behavior. You have to replace it with something else. I only found success after I intentionally filled the time that I would be on my phone with another activity: reading, music, etc. Food for thought!
This was from the first minute my favorite video of yours thus far!
me watching this as I working and tried to start with a morning routine
I love this sososo much. I love how u listen to emma bc u 2 are my comfort people🫂💛
When I study I NEED to have something going on in the background in order to not getting distracted. Something that has helped me finding the right balance is listening to music in a foreign language I can't understand a single word of. For example CHILL (guitar w voice) korean songs, or Sweden, or whatever is really far from the languages I speak (Italian and english).
In this way I keep on having a good mood with chill music playing while not getting distracted. OR I just play asmrs 😂
I fell in love with this video. I'm so proud of you for your new mindset and I'm pretty sure this would lead you to great things, keep going 💕
Thank you so much Hannah. You have no idea how much I needed this, and how happy I am to see I'm not going through all the difficulties alone. Love you. ❤
I can relate so much. the bluetooth in my car broke & i've been having so many ideas & thought of my to do list since I'm not distracted by music or a podcast. My mind is so clear now
Found you today from Reese's video. I am so glad I did. You are starting to become one of my new comfort people. This video resonated a lot. Thanks for making it.❤
I have to make my background noise to have not distracting of course for focus about what i need to do it in addition for comfort and quite thanks for this great video like you
When you know how chaotic and iconic the next video is going to be, and you just mentally preparing for it and watch a quiet Hannah’s routine 😂
probably my favourite video of yours... thank you!
Not me watching this on my lunch because I have recently set these EXACT rules for myself about a week ago! (I also work from home for myself) -- and it makes SUCH a difference!
Some tips I have to help are shutting all notifications except for essential ones (using those focus modes automatically at certain times), I use the app that makes your phone into a digital clock and my brain then forgets its my phone, and also one scrolling loop I can sometime get caught in that isnt social media is amazon. I also only reply to messages at like 12p, 3pm, and then after 6pm. It keeps me from feeling that urgency to do something now buzz when something pops up! And if I need something in the background - I find itself really helpful for me to play a "work with me - no music" from youtube with pomodoros and not showing the persons face. It helps to keep me on task but feel like I am coworking with someone and the typing asmr is enough for my brain to not get tense from the silence (also using a fan or white noise in headphones is super helpful.)
Not me playing this video as background noise 😂
Sameeee
Loved this. I recently started getting up earlier so I can head to the little park right by my work and sit for about 20 minutes without my phone and just be. It's been really life changing for me.
I'm doing the same type of reset this summer! I also struggle with watching/listening to things at 1x speed after watching at 2x for so long. Technology has really increased the amount of stimuli we intake, for better and worse.
One of the most beautiful videos you made ❤❤❤
❤ Thank you for sharing. I have started doing this as well at the start of the year. It's actually quite refreshing.
This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for sharing
thank you so much for being such a ray of sunshine, truly enjoyed this video and showing a new perspective to mornings/routines💗constantly proud of how much dedication you put into your content, it seriously does not go unnoticed!!!!!!! hope you have a fantastic week, love you lots xo🌟
Hey, when I’m stuck at work when you upload. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
Love this type of videos!!!! I always enjoy those videos of yours like some vlog just spending time with yourself and reset yourself !!!!Thanks you for helping me to reset myself in the morning 🩵🩵
Love ur videos sm and so obsessed w/ ur pod. U're such an inspiration. Keep doing ur content like this. Real, cozy and open-minded. Love ya🤍
Always good to hear from you Hannah! I always look forward to hearing from you!
the guilt I felt for adding groceries to my online cart while listening to this lol!
Many excellent points were made in this video, thank you for sharing 💙
Yes Hannah!! I am going to do this too. I’ve been wanting to make more vlogs recently and you are a huge inspiration for me. And I feel like this detox will give me the creativity I need. Thank you!
I’m working on catching up on your videos since life has been so damn busy lol. I will say setting up focus on your iPhone can be extreme helpful (at least imo). You can set it up so only certain people can contact you during it and also you can set up your home screen to change with each focus you set up. So you could completely take social media off your Home Screen. Also setting up limits on apps like instagram has helped me immensely. Hopefully that helps 😊
Oh i feel that so so much. And i will try to do that, too. And i need a similar video for night time /evening routine... Because i completely loose myself in watching too much senseless content in the evening and i just wont stop. Why is it so hard?😢
at the start of the video I was like "she probably listened to Emma's podcast dopamine detox", and lo and behold, she confirmed it at 7:13 hahaha
Love this video! We need an in depth coffee recipe. Your coffee always looks so yummy❤️
oh how i love these types of videos. you make my sundays better. love YOU 🤍
Your quiet morning routine looks pretty nice, Hannah!
You’re the real one
i needed that, thank you hannah
Thank you for the reminder ♥️ I needed it.
Something I recommend in order to break the phone muscle memory for your social media apps - move the apps on your phone. It makes such a difference!!
Hi hannah, i love u and your vlogs you are a couple of years old and i feel like you're my sis and telling me thing i should aviod thanks for that😂 and you are the real one
i loved the voiceover script! more of those please :))
Hi Hannah Elise! Enjoy your quiet day!
Keep being more independent and try to relax and keep practicing self-care. ❤❤❤❤😊😊
hannah this video was soooo calming and lovely. this is exactly what i needed! 🫶🏻 *nothing changes if nothing changes*
This is exactly what I needed today - Thank you Hannah!
i literally love this!!!
Ahhhh YES. This video.
For me, I’m suuuuch a procrastinator. Like I will get things done, but at the absolute last second and I will rush to do it. I work very good under pressure, but I don’t need to live my entire life like that.
I used to lie to myself by telling myself I will watch the youtube videos to motivate me and ease into it. What would actually happen is I never get up. 😭
I had to force myself into the silence. Just turn my brain off and start doing things. Let the momentum take me as far as it can. If I think about it, I’ll never get it done. Even as far as not making to-do lists anymore because I will overthink it and never do anything.
i needed this
This is so true and so relatable!! I also live alone and rarely don’t have noise going- always have music or a tv show/movie on.
This also reminds me of this part of the song “All I Really Want” by Alanis Morissette-
“Why are you so petrified of silence?
Here, can you handle this? **moment of silence**
Did you think about your bills, your ex, your deadlines, or when you think you're going to die? Or did you long for the next distraction?”
Kinda showing my age 🙃 lol but it’s so dead on!
This is everything. I loved the video and the editing! everything u said was inspiring
Lovely music Hannah. Thank you. Loves💛✨
not me watching this video as i'm making my coffee as background noise 😭 i really need to implement this in my life haha
Here for Charley content ❤
your cat is so beautiful 😻
love all of your videos but LOVE this video
couldn't relate more to this video, great content !
Hannah nice vlog so relatable to our daily lives 😊
