What a lovely song and play! I know this melody from my time as a kindergarden teacher in Europe. With a japanese colleague called Yoshika from Tokio I was singing this song with the children many years ago. What a wonderful culture and awareness of music.
I am from Viet Nam , tôi rất thích bài hát này vì nó làm tôi nhớ đến những ngày kỷ niệm êm đềm bên cha mẹ lúc ở vùng quê , nhưng nhiêu đó vẫn không thể tả hết sự quyến rũ ma mị đầy yên bình của bài hát này ❤🌻
Cherry blossoms in bloom truly are beautiful….Wish I could see and attend a real cherry blossom festival. Been a dream of mine for years. Only one in my family who ended up part japanese because me and my older sister have different dads. Ever since I was a baby I’ve just seemed extremely interested in the culture. Even did the special japanese birthday celebration when I was little…..Still have photos of it somewhere. Plus recently did a Japanese combination with my Quinceanera when I turned 15. To do something special and unique like me. Wanting to combine 2 parts of me in one on the special day. 😊
May you one day see a real cherry blossom festival in Japan. Just as the life of the cherry blossom is connected from ancient times to today, so is yours. Having two cultures in you is a wonderful thing. You let the flower that is you blossom into full bloom in your family.🌸✨🌸✨🥰
9/5/2024 it does wtf 😬 while I was little I didn’t realised cus we sang this in Chinese school a bloody song in Japanese. Now I am listening early 8 am in UK it does sound creepy 😅
I learned this song in elementary school back in China, and I've been searching for it ever since. Recently, I watched the 1957 movie Sayonara, and there was a background song that sounded so familiar. I realized I had heard it over 30 years ago when I was just a kid.
Beautiful! I have taught this song before to my students with 4-Hole Ocarina which you may know is ancient Woodwind instrument that dates back to the Stone Age in history. Japanese Composer Koji Kondo used this instrument in Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998). Saw concert years ago in Stillwater, Oklahoma where Koto was played with large ensemble of Ocarinas. Was given hand-made Ocarina from Japan. Was years later I began teaching 12-Hole Ocarina. Thank you for sharing!🎼

It is truly amazing that this song is sung all over the world (in schools!). It's lovely to be able to listen to a song and go back to your school days!😊🌸
A very lovely rendition of this beautiful song. To my western ear, this pentatonic scale creates a feeling of melancholy. I wonder whether, as a Japanese, you would agree. I presume the cherry blossom is not only a sign of spring but also a symbol of the transitoriness of life. Am I correct?
Sorry for the late reply☺️ My modern ears, which know western scales, can feel the same melancholy in this song as you do. My impression is that the melody of this song is not about human sentimentality, but about the old Japanese landscape itself🌸🌸🌸 You are right, sakura is not only a symbol of spring, but also of fleeting life. It is said that their gracefulness and their ability to fall away is the reason why the Japanese love them so much🌸✨✨✨
I corrected the timing of English subtitles. Thank you for watching !
Thanks to the Japanese who made a video clip for me to sing so beautifully I want to listen to it forever in the Land of the Sun.

When I read your message, I imagine your parents in the countryside and in Vietnam. Thank you for your peaceful message🥰🌸
Me too

Hello Stephanie!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful memory with us🌸☺️
Cherry blossoms in bloom truly are beautiful….Wish I could see and attend a real cherry blossom festival.
とても美しい曲です。 BABYMETALの「メギツネ」という曲を聴いて、この曲に似ていることに気づきました。歌詞もとても素敵です🌸
Why does it sounds scary😭
Why?
9/5/2024 it does wtf 😬 while I was little I didn’t realised cus we sang this in Chinese school a bloody song in Japanese. Now I am listening early 8 am in UK it does sound creepy 😅
It’s in a minor key

@@codywiench4214thats not why
Heavenly voice! I would love to visit Japan!
Got to be one of my favorite versions.
I've also made a karaoke song, so please try singing it!🌸
This is very serenading and sweetly enchanting like a blossoming flower
Honestly I love Luffy's version most but this is so beautiful
It is a lullaby women sing to their babies. It's supposed to be funny because Luffy sings it to a old woman like a baby.
I learned this song in elementary school back in China, and I've been searching for it ever since. Recently, I watched the 1957 movie Sayonara, and there was a background song that sounded so familiar. I realized I had heard it over 30 years ago when I was just a kid.
This just makes me wanna cry my eyes out. Lyrics are joyful, intruments are beautiful yet here i am with teary eyes.
MEGITSUNE !
Thanks, teaching myself to play it on piano.

I'm so glad you and your father liked it! 🥰 I love dancing, but Japanese dance is difficult for me. Do you dance? I also made a karaoke so please enjoy it.🌸✨✨
Whoaaaa! I just got blown back to 6th grade when we sang this. Thank you so much for that nostalgia! That was over six years ago 😄.

Sorry for the late reply☺️
My modern ears, which know western scales, can feel the same melancholy in this song as you do. My impression is that the melody of this song is not about human sentimentality, but about the old Japanese landscape itself🌸🌸🌸
You are right, sakura is not only a symbol of spring, but also of fleeting life. It is said that their gracefulness and their ability to fall away is the reason why the Japanese love them so much🌸✨✨✨
Enjoyed this nice melody, greetings from england.
