I remember first playing this game on Christmas morning, never hearing about the smashing pumpkins before and hearing that intro for the first time and being blown away by how beautiful the melody is. Today actually became one of the first things I learned how to play on guitar along with Dammit (which was also on this game).

I remember growing up I hated this song because of the changes in tones between the choruses and the bridges, the deep, unorthodox distortion of the guitar and bass, and also Billy Corgan looking so haunting in the glowing lights contrasting from the shadows they casted on his facial features along with his bald head, spindley limbs, and skirt, I thought he looked like an alien 😂, and all of it together creeped me out, but the more I listened to the chorus, I loved it, and thats why Id get annoyed with the sudden deviation in the bridge. I was very sheltered growing up so I wasnt used to a lot of complex music like this, mostly gospel music and pop music that has pretty much the same rhythm and sound start to finish. But as I got older, dealt with difficult emotions, and listened to more music, my mindset on how I enjoyed music changed as I got into heavier, abrasive genres like metal and punk etc. And I eventually came back full circle to the Smashing Pumpkins. They are one of, if not the most talented band ever. With how well theyre able to transition between light and heavy melodies, make soft, endearing tracks like 1979, or get heavy and angsty like Bodies. They are capable of writing, and playing, anything, and making it sound good together Imo. And this song is a great example of that. The Smashing Pumpkins are probably my favorite band now. And thats saying a lot for me 😅. But no matter how many times I listen to Saimese Dream,, it never gets old. And I cant say there are a lot of albums I feel that way about.

I can see how remixed this song is in RB2 then in GHWT. I like when they remix some songs and it sounds so much better than the original.

I think I prefer this chart over RB2 tbh. But RB2 has crowd singing and great visuals, so I think the overall experience is better on Rock Band.
