He is able to compliment his bandmates because he is now mature and sober. When you are young and fucked-up all the time, it is not as easy. Yeah, Joe and Steven really did not get along for a good portion of the time because they are very much Yin and Yang personalities. Steven is an extrovert and a showman, while Joe is introverted and does not want to be on camera. But, put them in a room together and let them work, they can make magic. Steven is that one guy at the party that you get cornered by but you are too nice to just walk away from and by the end of the conversation you are sober and it turns out he didn't really even know who he was talking to and won't remember you the next time you see him.

When I was about 12 and Steven was about 17, he hunted me in the woods in Grassy Sprain Yonkers with a slingshot. The coolest story from back in the was when my friend came home from Spellmen HS in the Bronx around 1973. He told me his music teacher, Mr. Tillerico brought in a song his son wrote called “Dream On” or something liked that. He said it was a cool song. Then about a year or so later, I went to see Black Sabbath and this band Aerosmith opened for them. They did that song Dream On. Suddenly I put 2 and 2 together and recognized that guy Steven Tyler was the guy that shot at me with a slingshot and through snowballs at us. BTW, as a small time local band front man, I think Steven Tyler is my favorite front man ever.
When Steven Tyler was just starting out, before he got famous, he played at a bar in Ohio that was really popular (now its torn down). My grandpa hit on Steven Tyler's girlfriend, Steven got into an argument with my grandpa, and my grandpa punched him. Funny story.
The BEST thing to do while in pain is to embrace it and fight through it, get stronger. I was one of the fools who got lost in opiates because of my pain .. 7 long, dark , lonely years. It’s good to be back.
And I don’t think ‘having a great time destroying yourself’ even comes CLOSE to heroin addiction. I got started from a moto injury on painkillers in high school, eventually I was taking handfuls of pills at a time and it went on from there. As far as ravaging my family , my ‘family’ didn’t know for 5 years , my mother didn’t know until the day I left. The whole point of this comment was avoiding opiates , there’s so many alternatives out there. I was young , but I was also stupid. Just like a lot of people walking out ofa doctors office with a script. And usually for something totally ridiculous, I cut the tip of my pinky of while working a few months ago and they prescribed me PERCOCET! FOR A FUCKIN CUT. Embrace yourself , don’t hate yourself .. I hated my self for too long
You're right but think about 90% of subs here don't even know about Aerosmith's great success .in the Seventies, they sold out about all concert shows, and bad ass hard rock band, roots of heavy metal hard rock.
Not sure Rogan had to be there for this interview. Tyler was rambling about personal experiences lol Anybody could have been sitting across from him it wouldn’t have mattered.
This dude has some kinda cure for aging, stem cells or something. Gotta figure out what this guy is using. Someone said he looked 70 when he was 40, now he's 70 and looks 40. I'm not joking, he's using some anti-aging technology.
I think it might have something to do with maturity and making wiser decisions. Many while they're young feel invincible and party 24/7 and burn the candle at both ends and then your body and life's decisions drag you to the mirror and punch you square in the nose. Next thing you know you're taking better care of your family and self. You have a better appreciation for the gift of life. Just my opinion..He could have some secret anti aging tech..
It’s more likely got something to do with the fact he’s a musician. People that play instruments develop an extra loop on their brain. Most musicians live long lives, usually most of them die from drug overdoses.
Joes obsession with bow hunting is getting out of hand. Now he’s got this nobody “arrow smith” guy on? I mean what really is an arrow smith? I’m tired of these hunting-centric podcasts.

The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I once got an A in physics
Jo Po That song was written by Diane Warren. It was inspired by a Barbara Walters interview of James Brolin talking about sleeping with Streisand.
starting to look forward to your comments + reply to your comment to check the temperature of the show. #AllLivesMatters
Young Jamie loves nuclear bombs and Trump, Joe said so.
Where is all the Whitty comments lately JoPo? Are you having a fanboy moment Joe? 😂
Jo Po couldn't pay his ghostwriter no mo?
I didn’t even find this that hard to follow like everyone’s saying. This was pretty enjoyable
That's cus u and me also have adhd. He is talking our lenguage bro.
@@cptoscar damn 😂
I agree im confused at the comments
@@cptoscar DAMN IS THAT WHY? Goddamn, you’re good 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@KristysEdits hahahahahaha thanks, I seriously feel that way sometimes when I talk to others with adhd. I know it's probably bullshitt tho
People may like to call Steven a burnout or what have you but he is Genuine and Honest and unapologetically loves himself. If I am this cool, let alone alive at 70...that is saying something.
@@RedBaritonePlayer do you know him? or are you one of those media believers? And look at him. He is stoned in another world. Maybe the story you've heard was just him, on drugs.
Best JR episode ever. Steven Tyler is legendary.
This podcast has completely flipped my opinion on Steven Tyler. What a great guy!
When Scientologists use the word 'CLEAR' .... this is what they mean. He's a complete person at peace with himself.
Why didn’t you like him before?
Have you watched Behind The Music: Aerosmith
I don't like his music, but he seems like a great guy
Steven Tyler : "I love what you just said, can we talk after this I wanna write that down".
Probably the single greatest compliment to graze your ears, and hell maybe it will be in a song.
"Sure" - Jamie 2020
Time??
Before the first hour somewhere
Gotta admit one of the best interviews ive seen,Steven ur the most cool down to earth man ive seen, very real and honest. Thanks for giving us a thought of what its like in ur life and what u have been through.Joe ur always a pleasure ty for this great interview.

If he can be sober...I can too..needed to see this!
You got this!
You can do it !
Hope you're doing well, friend!

@@jonathanpappas151 much love!!!!! I beat it
When your grandpa is way cooler than you.
I'd love to see Anthony Kiedis on here, or Flea. Kiedis is a big fan of MMA so I'm sure there would be some interesting conversations.
Ian G that show would be epic
Now you are thinking. Yes!!!
I got to see Aerosmith play Cowboys stadium last December. They rocked and Steven was seriously great
This was awesome, and i can't help but think Steven and Edgy Brah would get along! 1:56:35 Almost sounds like Eddie's "look into it"
Yeah those 2 left in a vacuum would be talking about messages aliens send them through the power outlets.
oh who doesnt love Edgy Brah.....
joe be holding on. coke does that to the captive audience...
lisyen- "that Simon guy" -:ha ha... joe knows... joe knows...
Steven Tyler is my spirit animal! 😅 I love how genuine and spontaneous he is!
By the way: today is the day you will always remember as the day, you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow.
bruh lmao
LMAO fking dead
That was amazing
Aleixo Teixeira lol 😂😂😂
I was just thinking the same thing bro! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The sound of Steven's voice flows like mystic river. Music to my ears, love this guy!!!! The sexiest senior I've seen!!!!
can u explain to me how painting your nails as a guy can be sexy?
Looks like Mr. Tyler has a Young Jamie too.
1:48:13 - funny to hear them dissing Spotify and two years later Joe Rogan has an exclusive deal with them
I was thinking the same thing but I’d say it’s a good deal.
a parent trying to pay for his family
Also joe explaining why he doesn’t believe in aliens and now joe is basically a full-blown belieber. This podcast did not age well
@@dillongarner1 wait. what? lol I don't really follow him, I just watch episodes with people I like, but that seems like a really interesting transition. how did that happened? lmao
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Steven's Mom's advice to let people see his other side was great. I liked him on American Idol. He is an interesting man and this interview was enlightening.
Invite Flea and/or Anthony Kiedis please!!!
Paul E. So agree.
James Clary please would be amazing, breaking the internet
They’re always in a different country! Makes me so mad but yeah please have Anthony chad or flea
Flea might be the best speaker in interviews, and he lives close 👍🎄
Anthony Kiedis autobiography was a great book to read. I can't wait till flea finally get his done or going. He mentioned he was doing one but idk
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall in sleep cuz I'd miss you baby
*AND I DON'T WANNA KISS YOUR THING*
So now I come to you, with broken arms.
That shit had me rolling
"The drummer walks over to the drums, the stool creaks, & he farts, no." -Steven Tyler
“Went to animal kingdom to visit some of my old girlfriends.” lmao!!!!!
Your what? ! 2 living with mom or dad or both. You got the Prognosish of faces. Joke moron.
He choose them lol 😂
53:48 How much is Young Jamie buzzing that Steve loves what he told him and wants to write it down! Jeez what Kudos Young Jamie!
Steve yes! I caught those mad af props, too, very cool.
Ben he said college physics is important for knowing all in the universe
Whenever the guest is more famous then joe the podcast becomes gold rogan actually lets him talk
Surprised. The ultra famous guests usually bounce an hour in. Stoked this is two hours.
LaughingMan And apparently hung around to stare at the studio wolf thing. Cool fella, genuinely an oddball, no games.
And when it's 4 hours, you know it's Redban xD
Joe: "I think the airport was already there"
Steven: "So you grew up in a HIGH end neighborhood"
It was quick, and it was amazing
Steven is that one guy at the party that you get cornered by but you are too nice to just walk away from and by the end of the conversation you are sober and it turns out he didn't really even know who he was talking to and won't remember you the next time you see him.
TheBear aye lmao
That's cool at least you get a conversation with Steven Tyler
Lmfao
Lol omg ... nailed it
TheBear Now imagine that guy on blow with major gak breath
Keanu Reeves next!
attila farkas
I feel like he would be cool AF
Steven Segal
That's what I keep saying.
omg yes! that would be soooo gooooood
Keanu might actually be such a nice guy that he could be boring.
Great interview. Its a classic. Steven talks a stream of consciousness of memories , experiences and philosophy.
It’s a stream. Not sure it’s always conscious... lol...
I'm rewatching this as I'm getting ahead of my spring cleaning. So funny. I love Steven Tyler even more after hearing him speak on here. He's a character.
Lets take the real test for Onnit....give steven tyler alpha brain and have him on the podcast again. Then i'll consider taking it lol
The supercut of this will be amazing. 1:41:33 "You know what's got memory? Water. No one knows about that yet. Water. Because it never goes anywhere, you can never get rid of water. You can boil it, steam it, it goes up, it comes back down."
Steven "the less hair you have, the more head you get" Tyler
I wish joe laughed at that
@@UnaWarlock joe rogan was and still is a terrible stand up comedian so i can understand why he didnt .

BTW, as a small time local band front man, I think Steven Tyler is my favorite front man ever.
nice
Rocky Dennis no, , Mr. Tilaricco , the music teacher is Stevens dad
Thats awesome
Leon Wood no , Mr. Tillerico is Steven Tyler’s Dad
A B welcome, my friend. One day at a time brother.
A B good for you brother. Keep it up!!!
Welcome back, buddy
BrownGorilla so, basically what you’re saying is... I’m not supposed to feel pride for getting out of it?
I hated my self for too long
In the top ten best joe rogan of all time 👍🏻
So you enjoy conversations that basically go around in circles and accomplish absolutely nothing.
Conversations with Steve Tyler I'm in
Steven is losing it. The only interesting thing about this podcast was him reffing his songs
He drinks Kangen water
Yeah I totally agree. He looks younger than he did in the 80s. It's strange.
🤔🤔🤔🤨🤔🤔🤔It’s coke... a lot of coke
This is amazing. Rockers have the best stories period.
"I'm Italian, I love to get angry." Hahaha
It's an underrated art form. All those great Italian artists were hotheads
Joes wires arent connecting..DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO! ( twilight zone Music ensues).....laudnum is grocery store poppyseed
Joes obsession with bow hunting is getting out of hand. Now he’s got this nobody “arrow smith” guy on? I mean what really is an arrow smith? I’m tired of these hunting-centric podcasts.
Well played sir. Well played indeed.

Steven Tyler sounds like a combination of Old Pacino voice and Young Pacino voice
Thats spot on
I was thinking the same, Definitely sounds like Al pacino in Heat.
Jacob Brown with the train of thought of Gary Busey.
Jacob Brown ....... Middle Pacino

I think Joe was just mesmerized by the fact that he had Steven Tyler sitting in his Studio claiming to be such a big fan of his to the point that he was almost speechless
TCT92Graphics he also had stem cells injected in his shoulder. Joe was off and in pain
I agree. I had that experience and you kinda feel high and giddy.
This is one of the best JRE interviews - I come back to this one every few months
steven is one of the best episodes! so raw and naturally charming. best part is hearing his stories, second best is catching him say 'I dont wanna kiss your thing? No. I dont wanna miss a thing.'
