Hey guys, and I am back with more coming. After a very difficult Computer Architecture course and a great ending to the ski season for 2023-2024, I knocked out a lot of games with my buddies, including PR3C1S1ON, Kippur and thegodcard, which will be coming up on UA-cam soon. I will be coming back every once in a while to the college and continuing my games with my friends when I visit, but here I took a trip along the Oyster Bay branch of Long Island Railroad. A little something that was interesting about this ride was that I passed by a bowling alley that I go to very frequently on Jericho Turnpike and I see a branch of LIRR right in front of me when I go to this bowling alley. This bowling alley happens to be on this branch between Mineola and East Williston. Little did I know that I go to Beach Point Yacht Club in Mamaroneck, and I can see Long Island right across Long Island Sound and the town that is directly across from Mamaroneck on the Long Island side is Glen Cove, which is on this branch. We can see the Westchester/Connecticut side when we are at Oyster Bay because we can see Long Island Sound. This was such an enjoyable branch and I must say it was a very cool branch to go on. I hope to come back here at some point and maybe even go racing in sailing on Long Island Sound again kind of like before. But anyways, I hope you guys like this, and I look forward to more journeys coming soon.
First pls pin.
Nice video riding #560!
Nice glad you are also doing full railroad rides along with the full subway rides as well.
More to come! I’m branching out. I’m still gonna keep doing my runs in the subway, but but I’m glad to have branched out.
Wow!
The oyster bay need more cars and more seating like the Port Jefferson branch
Indeed they do I agree
I have family in Glen cove
@NaimBilal-ct8xp I am from Glen Cove to wouldn’t be surprised if I knew your family everybody knows each other over here lol
Why Oyster bay can’t not get more service like the Montauk and between Greenlawn and Port Jefferson
Oyster Bay gets a lot more service than Greenlawn. I’m pretty sure Greenlawn only has four trains in a day. Oyster Bay I think has more than double that amount. And second of all, trains that run on the Greenlawn branch they only go to Ronkonkoma. And I’m pretty certain that the Greenlawn branch doesn’t use signals, but I’m not certain because I’ve never went to Greenlawn before and I’ve only done a little bit of research on it.
@the_elmeister The train you were riding on, how come the automated announcements were on?
@@christopherokhiria9980 The MTA has fixed the automated announcement system on the C3 cars, which is why it is very common now for those diesel cars to have the announcements.
@the_elmeister Previously, it was rare to find the automated announcements in working condition, while most of the time they were broken, so it required train crews to make manual announcements. Great video, though.
Nice! When was this
This was the 4:49 PM train from Jamaica
oyster bay is such a pretty name.
unfortunately i feel like its the branch with the worst service patterns...?
I mean, it gets a decent amount of service. I personally think the leg between Ronkonkoma and Greenport isn’t managed greatly because they only run like four trains per day over there and Greenport is far from the Montauk branch and you’d have to take a ferry just to go from Greenport to the Montauk branch. I personally think there should be more trains that go to Greenport and also I personally think there should be some rush-hour trains that go in both directions between Greenport and Jamaica or Penn Station because the Ronkonkoma branch could use additional service towards Greenport. If you’re coming from the North Fork and you’re trying to get to Manhattan and Queens, you could be expecting a 20 to 30 minute transfer at Ronkonkoma.
What are all this people waiting for
What do you think.. 💀
