When taking the in-person test for my CPR certification, I used another part of that song to remember one of the things you do when you get there. Since emergency personnel are going to need space, you're going to have to clear the area. So I thought of that line towards the end: "Okay, I need everybody to clear the area right now!"

The typical speed is 100-120 presses/minute, I've heard- just in case you didn't find one. Examples: "We Don't Talk About Bruno," which matches the first two (103/min), and (almost, surprisingly) "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence. That one's only at 95 bpm- a little low, I know, but someone else said that if you're panicked you might end up accidentally doing 10 extra compressions/minute- bringing it into the "550 ms with error tolerance of 50" range.

For those who might not know, CPR is best done with compressions matching the beat of songs around a 100bpm - 120bpm.
This includes Baby Shark, Misery by Maroon 5 and CPR by CupcakKe. Sadly Reese's Puff is around a 150bpm, so you'll be too tired if you do it.

The other thing of it too, as I can say for sure, is that when you had been through the same first aid classes/courses then you also begins to go into an "auto" mode where you just doing what you had learned and not thinking much of it. I still remember one of the classes, where I half assing it (As the instructor did told us a guide line what to do if we meet a person that needs CPR) but as soon I began on the chest compressions themselves, then I just went into what we had been taught. I even had one instructor saying that Im doing it at a good rate

@@katherinebaker8088 I meant I wanted a description of how it felt and how it was different from the dummy. I know skin feels different from plastic, but is a person more or less pliable or compressible than the standard dummies? Do the dummies correctly represent how hard it is to do chest compressions?

@@limiv5272 Well I haven't done CPR on a person, tbh. I am probably not the best person to ask, but my guess is that a ribcage is harder to push through than the slightly stiff plastic in the dummies.

The AHA has now made compressions 100 to 120 per minute so he is correct. Now we have more songs to add to our CPR arsenal.

I teach to 110 compressions per minute. Around 110 seems to be the sweet spot for most effective rate, and teaching 110 gives you a plus/minus 10 compressions per minute buffer to stay within the 100-120 range. The best song I found at 110 BPM is KC and the Sunshine Band's That's the Way (I Like It).

If someone is stressed or freaking out a little (i.e. not a professional responder), they're probably going to rush a bit, so that 100 BPM song is most likely going to come out at 110-120 BPM. Just something to consider.

Also in the end a song that the person knows well is going to be best because they will remember it in the heat of the moment of the songs in this list the only ones I think I'd reliably be able to do CPR to would be Stayin Alive or Another one Bites the Dust as I know the songs well and can feel that rhythm
