Fun Fact: Aziraphale learned the dance Gavotte (this is mentioned in season one).
The final step of Gavotte is to kiss your partner. This explains why he was upset when the Gavotte went out of fashion. I imagine he learnt it in the hopes that one day he might convince Crowley to dance it with him. But by the time he was brave enough to ask Crowley to come to the club, he couldn’t because nobody danced it anymore.
Aziraphale had waited over a hundred years, waiting for the right opportunity, to ask Crowley to dance with him.

The world may never know if Crowley calls Aziraphale "angel" as a pet name or as a mark of species.
I think it may have started as the latter but throughout history it changed into the former
Most probably says it as a pet name. The amount of emotion he shifts through as he says it regarding Aziraphale does not imply as a title descriptor. Plus he's more likely to say My angel rather than The angel when talking about him.
The English speaking world. In a lot of the dubs it’s very clear when he’s calling him angel and Angel, especially Spanish aha

One of my favorite things is that every ship in the show has the purpose to mirror Aziracrow but in the "what could be" way. Anatema and Newt eating despite being "hereditary enemies". Nina and Maggie actually communicating. Gabriel and Belzeebub choosing each other instead of their sides.
If only our ineffables could do the same

First I read your comment and was very surprised, before that I had noticed a mirror only in Maggie and Nina and Beelzebub and Gabriel, and then I remembered that there was another one of canonical couple, that you not mention - Shadwell and Tracy
At first I thought that this was nonsense, they could not mirror Aziracrow, and then I thought about those two and realized that I think I'm going crazy, but even Shedwell and Tracy are a real reflection of Azirakrow, a real good one,should I say, our two unafferable should took a lot learn from these two
Shedwell constantly, every time before their last scenes said, that Tracy was a witch, his enemy, that she is a temptress or something like that (so far I have watched only with a dub, I don't know the exactly words that he use), but was noticeable that he really liked her very much, but he denies this because of his dogmatic beliefs, which were imposed on him by the work that he sparkly loves... As a result, he abandons the idea of witch hunt altogether, because he realized that this is some kind of nonsense and because in real, he loves Tracy more, than his duties
If you look at them from the right angle, these are almost perfect version of Aziracrows, you just need to change the names
And, unlike Anathema and Newton, this correlation is relevant even for the second season, especially for the second season, to be honest 😭
Little addition : I've just realized that this parrarel works too well... Let's put it this way, the situations are a little different, and they also have different meanings, but if you think about it... First, Aziraphel takes the place of Madame Tracy, and then, at the end of the first season, she reincarnates as Crowley. There's just very little potential for ship wars. EVERYONE supports Aziraphale/Crowley, people are respectful enough to understand that any other ships involving them are just fun "What if?" scenarios.

There’s been a bit of toxicity between the theorists and the aziraphale fans where the theorists think that zira is a precious bab who could do no wrong so surely the coffee was like poisoned, and the zira fans are like no he’s acting perfectly in character. And some over the top fangirling that crossed the line to hate in Gaimans inbox. But compared to most fandoms it’s relatively light toxicity and we love that for our fandom lol

Honestly it's so nice, this fandom is so chill. The most toxic I've seen people get is only when discussing coffee theory and the like, and even then it's not that bad, especially considering a lot of those debates happen on reddit. I'm a part of the no smegsy times camp and this is pretty much exactly my thoughts. Not for me, but if it floats your boat it's pretty easy to skip past explicit fics on ao3

Remember in season 1, when people were debating over Aziraphale & Crowley's relationship. Despite Neil Gaiman, Michael Sheen and David Tennant confirming ineffable husbands being in love, there were still some that believed and argued they were just platonic best friends.
And then season 2 came and hit all of us like a truck.
There are people who could watch 2 people of the same gender having sex and still argue they're just platonic best friends....

Mood. I have spent enough time on Tumblr to see each of these facets of the fandom
And despite it all, Good Omens fandom is surprisingly loving and inclusive. When everyone is so busy caring for upset new fans, and discussing every hint that Neil drops and teases on tumblr, and swooning over the bromance of the two leads, you don't get much time to argue with each other. And it helps that the main ship is canon and not a fan wish.

I do honestly love the Good Omens Fandom. It feels so chill, even when we all need therapy. We all scream and cry together, but in a good way. When Good Omens season 2 came, tumblr was wild. There was so many comparisons to Good Omens Aziraphale and Crowley’s love story, especially with Supernatural Destiel, to a point where Supernatural and Destiel were trending on tumblr alongside Good Omens. So many theories for season 3 and many analyses of Good Omens. It was a really wild ride.
If I'm not wrong it also led to the coining of a new term, superheaven

One of my favourite things about Good Omens is how there's no homophobia.
Despite the biblical references, Aziraphale & Crowley's relationship isn't seen as a sin because of their sexuality.
Some may argue and say it's because they're an angel and a demon; they don't have genders; therefore, they're not gay. But they still present themselves as male humans to the general public and males around each other and Heaven and Hell.
Heaven and Hell don't hate Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship because it seems like a same-sex relationship.
Heaven and Hell don't like Aziraphale & Crowley in season 2 because they're seen as "traitors" after Armageddon.
So, they're not homophobic.
It's similar to how, in The Owl House (another excellent TV show that got queer representation right), Amity's parents hated Luz, not because she was a girl, instead because she was "troublemaker human" to them.
You’re right. Though interesting enough I think angels and demons are more racist, or at least their version of it, than homophobic. Think about it. Angels and demons aren’t allowed to interact with each other. Michael outing out Crowley to hell in season 1 and Furfur trying to out out Crowley to get a promotion. Furfur even tells him that he’s in trouble for collaborating with an angel. Armageddon and possibly the second coming is Heaven and hell fighting each other, their hate destroying everything in their path. Crowley x Aziraphale are seen as traitors for not just stopping Armageddon but, stopping it together. Gabriel and Beelzebub are also seen as traitors and I believe it is one of the reasons why the Metatron separated Aziraphale and Crowley. I am convinced that the Metatron knew Crowley would decline Aziraphale’s offer in becoming an angel.
Edit: i think season 1 it is pointed out demons and angels are of the same stock. Just like racist ignore the fact we’re all human, angels and demons in their hate forget that they mostly the same.

Agreed on both ace and NSFW. This fandom has the most aroace spec fics I've seen. And I love how the NSFW fics can either have them as any gender with different genitalia or none at all for both.
