An unexpected bus journey!

It's always interesting to explore new routes. This was the first time I'd ever got a bus from Amersham to Chesham, as there are many ways to walk it.
I'm glad I didn't get off the bus to find the pond and park, as the bird on the head of the stone soldier was somehow symbolic, perhaps, and it entertained me anyway!!

Pond park is an estate which began beign built before the war and then in haste after the war to provide more housing. My grandparents were one of the first couples to move into Upper Belmont Road in Chesham, they lived there to 2006 when my Nan moved out to a nursing home. My mother grew up in Pond Park and i went to school at Greenway and Durrants there. I now live at the bottom of the hill you would have gone up to get there. That is the most northerly part of the town. Good to see you rode the bus around too.
