I know all about these packs, i collect them. The curios thing on top is a Map Pocket, also seen on US Alice packs and possibly, if i remember correctly, back to the Jungle Ruck of the Vietnam wat, that is the one that has the X frame, The attachment points for other equipment, you said they were MOLLE, are in fact fot M93 Vest items that these bags are part of and use US type ALICE clips. Also older Dutch equipment can be attached using the older US style metal hook and hole pattern. As well as the DPM cammo version as shown in the video there is also a Desert cam version of both bags that i personaly like better, and a Green Dutch Luchtmacht, Airforce pack, not known if the so called Rotota bag was available in green. Good, tough, practicale bags. The next generation of Dutch Military Rucksacks are even better.

Good job with loads front and back.
Your interesting formation gives a whole new meaning to the term "tree hugger".
    Rocks need love too.

I have the same pack, I’ve been wondering what the two buckles were for for YEARS! Thank you for letting us know!

lol I just got one of those and was wondering, too. I attached the buckles to the ones on the lid of the Sting backpack (which does not have buckles on the shoulder straps, just D rings) Works, but looks silly and needs another strap or it wiggels arounds.

Looks like an excellent pack. I keep threatening myself to get one. I keep putting it off. Probably someday.

As a former Dutch soldier I remember I used the Thermos in the front pouch.

Thanks. Can you tell me, do the side pouches on 35L Daypack allow for pass- through? Is there a channel between pouches and main compartment or are pouches attached on edges so can pass a hatchet through?

The side pouches are only sewn to the main compartment on the two vertical sides. So carrying a axes or tent poles is possible in this way.
