You can see on the players faces after the siren what this game meant to them, they weren't throwing their arms up and cheering for themselves, they were composed and looked stoic in the moment. The win was what they were looking for today but more importantly I think they wanted to prove to themselves and the fans that they are where they belong.

The next few weeks are going to make or break the dogs’ season. This was not an ideal start. But anything is possible.

Jordan Sweets first goal in port colours would be the one he'll remember.
Loving how I changed my tip to Dogs and gonna slide down the ladder because most woulda tipped Port 😂😂😂 What else is there to say. Dogs were unwatchable. Absence of Liam Jones wasn’t even the issue. Congrats to Port on demolishing them.

Didn't see a single AFL commentator bet Port would win this game but they came out and delivered, sticking it to the critics with a powerful performance despite not being favoured. Credit where credit is due, Port have gained the ability to kick straight and nail goals that they should have been kicking all year but there wasn't a better time to do so than against the Dogs in a must win game.
This happens every year though, Port win a couple, then they lose a few. AT the end of the year they win most home games but struggle to win away from home.
@@tubester4567 Yep they're a great side maybe even top 4 most years but their consistency is what lets them down, they have Carlton in round 20 which will be a better test for them.
It takes only two weak rookies to sink a team. WB have five, and several third year players that will never rise to AFL level. So when the midfielders meet their match, the team gets flogged.
PA played the handball game that the doggies used to win the flag in 2016. I have been saying for the past few years that as long as Bevo is coach, the WB will remain a medocre team. With so many players letting their opponents wander off when the opposition has control of the ball, the dogs are likely to finish in the bottom four.
I think they’re falling apart and on a decline
No structure, players aren’t on the same page and weak in defence and up front.
@@ronnie323 Have you noticed that half of the WB players guard empty space when the opposition has control of the ball? Bevo's nutty game plan allows the opposition to pass the ball to each other unopposed. This stupidity has been going on since 2017. Truly, the coach has a learning disorder.

@@ronnie323 Logic dictates that you man up when the opposition has control of the ball (forcing them to kick to a contest), and lose you opponent when your team has the ball. Bevo has it backwards, and he is too stubborn to change. The poor fellow will follow all the other failing coaches. Unfortunately, the doggies will need to sink to the bottom before a better coach is appointed. But then if the board does not recognize the problem, it may replace a bad coach with another bad one, and the team can remain mediocre for a loooong time. Sorry to sound so negative, but this is the reality.
