GOLD Ore Smelting! How much will we find?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 жов 2022
- This is part 3 of the series from the Midway Gold mine, where Jason From Mount Baker Mining and Metals @mbmmllc is helping me evaluate the gold quantities and grade of ore found at one of my hard rock gold mines. We fist collected the sample from the mine (part1), then crushed and processed the ore (Par2) and now we are smelting the #1 concentrates to see how much gold we actually have in these samples.

Wow! I’m a solar physicist, and that convection in the cooling slag really does look uncannily similar to solar granulation! So glad you showed that.
I was thinking it reminded me of those NASA videos of the sun. Really cool!
It's like looking at a lava lake, too. Fluid dynamic?
So what do you do as a solar physicist I guess a better question would be what is it that you study
@@crazydogman677 I study the Sun. Specifically, I study the middle layer of the Sun's atmosphere, where a lot of interesting stuff happens. Other solar physicists specialize in studying the Sun's internal structure and dynamics, how it generates its magnetic field, solar flares, space weather, and a whole litany of other subtle details about the Sun's structure and behavior.
@@eroraf8637 wow very cool .Who is the most interesting person you have met being in this field of work? If you don’t mind me asking
04:42 AWESOME shot of inside the furnace!!
This is my favorite cross-over in all of UA-cam. I love how both of you have skills that compliment the other.
Over three ounces per ton on that last sample…. That’s worth mining for sure! 👍👍👍
Thanks Dan.
Jason is amazing, the knowledge this guy has is incredible
Never thought of this end of prospecting...thank you Dan for introducing me to another aspect of my favorite hobby ! I've got some serious studying ahead . The hunt for gold has so many levels from panning techniques to different sluice boxes learning rivers and streams ....geology and smelting and of course finding gold.. how can it not be addictive? I love it!
Love this. My favorite of all your videos these smelting videos
Awesome!! Love the collaboration videos and I am always so impressed with MBMM. Not leaving out you Dan, none of this is possible without you.
Ok so watching the molten metal cool is insanely oddly satisfying?! Nicely done once again Dan!
BigStackd has some copper asmr
It's definitely not like watching paint set that's forsure lol
would make a great screen saver
I have watch STREETIPS etc all the time. I really enjoy the ‘calculations’ involved in chemical refining. MBMMCO is the one sensical ‘go to’ for quick and non deadly asset. I’m tge process explains why the mines used smelting on a daily process of evaluation.
Can we get more hard rock videos like this? These are a ton of fun.
Ton of fun…. Good one! 👍👍👍
In gold mining, the Grind is only a small part of the work! 😉
Looks like some promising results! 49 g/t is close to 1.5 ozt/t not bad at all!
I enjoy your show, and your enthusiasm. Gold isn't just a mineral, product or commodity, it is a passion.
Thanks for your efforts, Dan! And thank you too, Jason. Your MBMM and your channel are very interesting, especially the chemistry of smelting ores. I appreciate you both!
Thanks Dan for all the windshield time involved with your production.
There is no way on GOD's green & blue earth that this process is profitable. The cost of getting, processing, equipment, and time = 10x the amount of gold you recovered.
YET, the videos and you guys excitement and work ethics makes it great fun to watch....thank you for posting these videos!
Don't forget that Dan has said in many videos that he's a prospector, not a miner. He checks an area for viability to see if it's worth an actual mining company investing the money and equipment into it. No big company will invest in an area that has no chance of a return.
Keep in mind, this is just the prospecting and assaying. Profitable industrial-scale mining would be the next step, once a sufficiently rich vein of ore is identified.
Well the information gained from these samples just let me sell the property for a considerable amount. That is why you test a site. Not to recover enough to pay your costs.
Unfortunately the economies only come when you scale up. Bring in back hoes and dump trucks and dig up the whole vein. Use the process at the conjunction of least expensive/most effective to extract valuable metals for private profit, usually while socializing the ecological costs. These videos are fun, but it's hard to profitably exploit a mine in any kind of socially or ecologically responsible manner.
good to see both of you guys in one video . . .
looking forward to see the next one. . .❤️❤️👍👍
What a fascinating couple of videos this has been. Absolutely love seeing this whole process and learning tidbits about it here and there
I love these videos I think Dan has machine envy and I don't blame him one bit
Cant wait till I get my BC pic stone slab from Dan this midweek.
I'm really enjoying seeing so many mining/prospecting youtubers working together.
I guess it's a VERY small world
Thank you both for the grind and meltdown!
Loved it.
Seems like a lot, to get back so little. really enjoyed the video.
I used to work at an assay lab in Thunder Bay and this whole process brought back a lot of memories. Love Dan's channnel!
Another awesome video Dan.
I love that you and Jason have done collaboration videos! And as always I love the solid information combined with your personality that you bring to all of your videos! Well done!
I just had back surgery. I love your video's. They keep me entertained since I can't do anything else yet. Great job!
Good luck on yer recovery there Jack! I'm still in recovery they tell me from the spinal surgery I had in March 2022, which was my 4th spinal surgery and my 10th surgery total (real ones like yours and mine, not like 5 stitches and such, LOL) Hope you feel better soon!
Everybody loves you Dan,, so keep up the good work and will keep watching ⛏️💪🇺🇸
An interesting process from start to finish. Thanks, Dan.
Such tiny little beads..good job you two 😊🟡🔘
Love your videos. Greetings from the Netherlands
I have learned so much from you, Dan and it really started my interest in all things lapidary, not just precious and semi precious metals and gems. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! What do your students think of your channel?
First time seeing the process and I am amazed at how many steps it takes to extract the gold/silver.
Been looking forward to this one. I am also enjoy Jasons channel. I haven't been prospecting for about 2 years some health problems nothing that we are not fixing and you guys give me my gold fix lol. Thanks
I would love to see a collaboration between Dan Hurd and Sreetips!!!!! Would be Epic!!!!!
Besides these results not sure how they would match up. I do like both channels so not trashing tips
@@dodgeit3014 really talking about refining gold, obviously not the same process!
Dan is such an awesome gold nerd!
Great fun Dan and Jason
Cheers
You both have great chemistry together and the videos with you both are just really fun and interesting.
Saludos a todos desde Arsenio Gold Hunting el buscador de oro de INDONESIA ️🇮🇩🇮🇩⚒️⛏️⚒️🙋🙏🤝❤️☕
Once again love the video lots of info
That's a hell of a lot of work for samples. But very interesting video. Thanks Dan
Nothing is prettier than watching the cone mold solidify
Great video guys thank you very much
Two of my fav channels in one vid. Awesome collab Dan and Jason
A fabulous insight into the refining/cupelling process, and the math at the end answered the last of my questions for this particular series; loved it, Dan! Can't wait for your next gem/mineral/specimen hunting adventure!
Gold Concentration: 17.4 g/ton is 0.56 oz/ ton I would mine that all day long! Excellent work Dan & Jason!
Excellent, Excellent video series brothers!!! Really enjoyable seeing to prospecting heavy weights in one video series! Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving Dan and family, thank you for the cool videos and information you share
Love this linkup, totally watch and am subscribed to you both. 👍
This is so interesting. Thank you both for doing this.
Interesting video thanks Dan & Jason.
Thank you Dan for sharing this informational and entertaining content. I hope this whole situation blesses you beyond expectation.
It's always interesting to watch collaboration videos from channels I view regularly. If I had a hard rock mine I would definitely purchase one of Jason's turnkey systems, watching the amazement on Dan's face at the speed that jaw crusher works was worth the time. Amazing videos from two awesome individual's.
U two are so awesome
awesome stuff dan thank you for sharing the adventure 😀 👍
I like watch Dan's videos .. he is very positive and his videos instructive .. I like all videos
Good Morning everyone
This was interesting. Thanks to both of you for making the video. You put a lot of work into this.
I’ve followed his page for years! And I’ve commented on several of your old videos and his that this collab should happen! I so glad it finally did
I know it's a lot of work and cost, but I'd love to see him run all the #3 and see just how much they have. Then hit it with that XRF and see the actual %. As always, two of my favorite UA-camrs making awesome content. :)
That was really interesting! Thanks for sharing this with us!
The sample of gold at the bottom of the crucible looks a lot like the size of bird shot. I love to see fresh metal right out of the crucible but the HEAT is great. Very nice work but now you have to remove the silver from the gold. If you can process large volumes of ore from the mine now you will be making money at it; and it looks like the mine still has much more gold and silver to yield up. Thank you, Dan.
Hello from Valladolid Spain I love see how two of my favourite channels collaborates thanks for sharing
Wow! That was one interesting video Dan
Definite machine envy I think everyone watching has that when it comes to MBMMC they rock!
excelente video eres uno de los mejores buscadores del planeta un abrazo desde colombia
Nice results!
This was awesome!
Mesmerising watching cool !
Those are some great results. Thanks for sharing......surface of the sun ;]....beautiful
I have two silver rings and one gold ring on, and a silver chain and amulet around my neck. Sterling silver and 24 carat gold. It blows me away thinking how much rock had to be mined and processed to get these!
That is awesome you guys thanks for teaching us we would not have a clue 😀
Awesome!!!! love the video.
Wow very good job. 😀👍👍👍
I don’t get the 1/7th , but I guess when you burn the cup 2 to compare the amounts that would give you a better fraction of actual contents for cup 3 .. I would definitely be interested in what the comparison would be in cup two and one
Great video
Great content
Been watching you for quite a while now.
That sounds kinda creepy :D
You gave me a laugh. "We will do our number ones, then our number twos."
Great crossover episode guys.
This was fun as I have watched videos from both of you.
Also, MBMM is fairly close to where I live so you were in my area.
Well done 👍🏼✅👍🏼
Your videos are therapeutic
Both of these Great Men have things they do that remind me of myself. It renews my hope that I am good and can be more than I am now.
arghhh but Dan you spilt so much over the top of that cone from 😳😜
love to watch them cool down
"here's the generator" no Dan! don't put the stone in the generator! lol
This is so cool.
Amazing but what a lot of work for so little just Amazing !!!!!!!
Darn you Dan! Darn you! You made me sick! Thanks to you I now have gold fever! This will probably end me but what a way to go!
Another great collab video. Heavy D Sparks just bought a old gold mine. I’d love to see a collab between Dan, Jason, Brent ( Ghost Town Living) and Heavy D. Each can contribute their own skill set.
Nice little pearl.
Thank you
Good stuff Dan! a lot of work in that hard rock mining, are you thinking diging a few tons to work down?
Yep you earned my subscription today.
If your interested in looking around for gold in the Kyuquot area I would supply a boat and accommodation to get the exposure for the Slam Bang Fishing lodge thanks Scott
Minings hard work!
That's so cool
Wow! 1.3oz/ ton!! With some decent machinery, it could be worth it if the vein is long enough. I’m guessing. Would you please make a video of prospecting the length and breadth of it? Thanks!!!
Finally, a gold video. 😜
Sorry about your camera...I thought something was up. It was smoking in Jason's video. It looks like everything turned out well with the samples. Congratulations!!!
Amazing! Now how do we separate the Silver from the Gold?
Chemistry, my friend. Gold is less reactive than silver, so if you were to, say, drop that bead in an acid that only reacts with silver, you’d get a nice bit of gold sponge and a solution of silver salts. Then you just have to concentrate that solution and add something else to precipitate the silver.
@@eroraf8637 Chemistry is cool!
