    Speed is an issue

Unless the diesel fuel becomes free and abundant, I’ll stick with sailboats !!!! I may only average 7 to 8 knots on a passage, but the only thing I pay for ,,fuel” is occasional sail maintenance which comes to some rope/sheets replacement, some thread and a needle, and their eventual replacement after years and years of service. That’s all. Filling up that guzzler which burns 27 gallons in an hour and maintaining not only one but two $75K Cummins engines takes some darn deep pockets in our days !

I sailed when I was younger. now that I'm older and my pockets are deeper, I prefer the dependability and consistency of power over hoping for wind.
